I’m only up to 11:40 viewing this for the first time, and I am struck by the beauty of the colour and symmetry of the construction lines. It is worth noting how wonderful these pictures are at every stage of their creation. Thank you again for your clear, honest, amusing and informative narrations. Your videos are the best.
I love this. I just completed it and painted it. My first time drawing something like this. I'm totally hooked. So meditative. You are an excellent teacher. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I'm loving your videos! I'm recreating them digitally on Illustrator, but I absolutely love learning how to make them on paper as well. Thank you so much for these videos
I am from Türkiye ı tried it and turned out so beautiful. It was my first time and it blowed my mind ı didn't expect that. Amazing... Thank you so much mashallah😍😍
Alhamdulillah Sister, thank you so much you! I’ve been watching your videos and drawing along and I finally got this down pat without any mistakes! I love your explanations and your lovely personality shines through while we get to learn how to draw these beautiful patterns. May Allah SWT reward you for sharing your knowledge💐
I completed this pattern on an A4 paper, after completing coloring everything else appeared blur to me :p btw, planing to try one from this playlist every Friday! thank you! From the time I watched a video by TEDed video "The complex geometry of Islamic design" back in 2017 , I was so enthusiastic about these arts, through your videos I start my journey. Thank You!
I find it's always easier to follow you line by line. Watch, pause, draw, over and over. I've tried drawing from memory and I end up with too many wrong lines. Ha ha ha. Way more than three mistakes. Aloha from Hawaii
Could you please make another video on tracing and tiling the pattern? It's the most difficult part for me. Maybe I have the wrong tracing paper and a wild spoon? or I am just messy lol cause the edges of my tiles often don't match
You've used beautiful colours for this piece, very harmonious. Are they the colours of the original in Turkey or have you chosen your own? I look forward very much to drawing it. I really appreciate your not using musak in your videos and hope you are never tempted to, as it annoys and destroys one's concentration while working on a project along with the artist. Thank you as always :)
The colours were my own choice, i believe the original is carved stone, so had to find my own inspiration... thank you for the feedback on music, i think I had dabbled earlier on with that, wasnt too confident to talk! but now am happy to and receive feedback that encourages me to carry on
Salaam! Thank you for a lovely tutorial. As An ambitious beginner I was able to get the pattern but I am in utter confusion on how to continue and paint the way you did…. With all those smaller shapes forming wider patterns 😢 are there any tutorials that may help me with this?
yess try either of these tutorials: ua-cam.com/video/0ke_GpoBa-s/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/_tw-XuSU_uo/v-deo.html Good luck and hope all makes sense, let me know if it doesnt!
This is stunning. I am about to embark on a crochet throw project from a pattern I saw on Ravelry, called "Persian Tile" www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/persian-tile-blanket and I can see the resemblance! You make octagonal and square motifs which fit together. How great to be able to draw it, too. This is definitely one I want to do. Thanks for your brilliant and detailed instructions!
Brilliant, a gorgeous pattern! Yes many patterns can be donw with these two shapes, and so many other tilings and semi regular tilings... a world of fun!
@@samiramian Thanks, Samira! It's a project I'm really looking forward to starting, once I've completed my Tiny Carpets embroidery project. One thing I was going to ask you - with the initial detailed drawings you do, would it be possible to show the various final designs that can be drawn from each one? This would save having to do the detailed drawing each time I wanted to do another design. What I am planning to do is create a folder with the original geometric drawings, and an accompanying list of all the finished designs that can be traced from them so that I could cross reference them. I think this would save a lot of work in the long run. I've noticed that a lot of them start in exactly the same way too, with the central circle, and the two half circles interlocking with it at the sides.
This mathod of construction requires so much lines. The traditional method of Islamic geometry of Prof Mohammad Aljanabi is very good. He praise your work in his facebook group. Why don't you try traditional method. Thank you
Ive learnt lots from Mohamad Aljanabi and really love what he's taught me. But I may have to disagree a little, in terms of so many more lines when you compare constructing a quarter as apposed to this. I often construct his quarter "4 at a time" and it isnt always that different...I sometimes find efficiency in refining what Ive learnt from all my teachers.... im sure a second version of this is in there somewhere.
@@tafseerrazaidrise4606 go for it, Im happy to share what I know now. I take care to make sure the pattern is authentic and correctly proportioned. I'm not going to worry too much over a few extra lines and variation in constructing a pattern. If it's wrong, I will worry and knnow my more learned friends will let me know, for that I am very grateful. I feel part of an excellent open community.
How incredibly rude an individual you are to take the tome to write such a comment. I feeel sorry for you. Your comment stands heads and shoulders above all others comments and feedback I've received. Read them and then look at yourself and your poor entitled ungrateful attitude. You need help.

You could’ve easily saved a couple minutes of OUR time by cutting out the parts where you left for 20 seconds, useless talking, etc.
