Man, thanks alot for telling me that there's a fresh launch tomorrow. I didn't even know that's gonna happen, because I don't follow WoW much currently, so I might just make a character tomorrow.
In one of your older videos about old and rare items, you mentioned the Shard of the Fallen Star trinket. You explained that it had a very low drop chance from AQ40 trash mobs and featured a unique effect where it summoned a comet to strike an enemy target and some veteran PvPers used it just for fun. Your mention of it left such an impression on me that I decided to farm it myself. After five years of effort, it finally dropped! (on retail WoW) Now, I always keep it in my bags and use it for laughs when dueling friends. Every time I see it, it makes me smile - I honestly thought they might have removed it from the game, but thankfully, it’s still there!
My wife to this day seethes over the Baron Rivendare horse. She rolled a 100 on it, and so did someone else, then of course she lost it in the invisible roll.. haven't seen it drop since then.
I remember farming that for literally years, then I randomly got it in a Raid Finder loot box back in MoP. I was so confused when I got the achievement!
@@garygood6804 its capped at 5-6 runs per hour. Theres a ton of running because you have to kill the ziggurat bosses to “unlock” baron and its an extremely low drop chance. Yes you can farm it, but its a terrible grind
Omg Pendulum of Doom. What a throwback. My vote for most iconic twink weapon is still Shadowfang. Shadowfang with crusader and a cruel barb with +15 agi and a Lucky Fishers Hat. Phwoaaaah 🐐
I feel bad for people who played 2019 PvP servers phase 2 was a massive grief fest. In 2005, it was completely different. You still had the odd rogue trying to catch easy victims in inns or person trying to get easy kills in Felwood but it wasn't the squads of people camping dungeon entrances or taking over entire zones. The TM-SS war was a much more "fair" form of gaining honor based on GY proximity.
One thing about the bag of marbles: back in vanilla, it was not BoP. Our MT back then would make multiple lvl 5 alts and trade them to his main any week we were doing prog raiding. Pretty sure he would also hand them out to reliable OT/melee dps to use when he called for it.
The same thing with really sticky glue for Horde at first. They eventually made it soul bound because using the really sticky glue was part of the strat of killing Rag by netting his sons of flames.
The one I always remember is Linken's Boomerang. Was about the only way Paladins could actually kill someone in PVP in the early days since they had pretty much no other way to stop someone from just walking away from them.
Getting the tidal charm at 2am the night before the $100K Mak'gora Tournament will forever be my most hyped wow moment. I don't think there was ever a spawn that was camped so hard before.
My Fiance doesn't know the first thing about WoW, and I doubt she'll ever play, but she loves your videos due to the relaxed nature and your soothing timbre of your voice. I'm inclined to agree. You're also one of my favorite "smoke sesh" accompaniments. Nothing says relaxation like a fat blunt, a good snack, and some MadSeasonShow.
Missed this series! I don’t play WoW anymore, I feel like it vastly changed from what I loved (and not in a good way) but it will always be special to me
I'm glad you kept making WoW videos as I think most of us Enjoy your perspectives and expertise on all things Classic. Also I think I've seen the Panda pet never knew where it came from and I've NEVER seen that tabard or even knew it was in the game.
An item I have a weird obsession with and never see anyone mention is the Core of Ragnaros rings that dropped very early on but were removed. They were blue FR rings with a random affix
You unlocked a memory for me from inspecting members of the only horde guild that could kill Rag early on. That was back tier two gear would drop off all the bosses in MC and not just Rag.
That episode of sputh park was one of my favorite episodes ofnall time with how much effort and work the studio put in and collaboration and communication with Blizzard. And when i found out the sword model was in the game i soent weeks farming naxx for it. Eventually i finally got it and it was the perfect sword for my dark knight
Vanilla and to a lesser extent TBC really did have unique weapons - for good and bad. Getting one of the good ones always felt amazing, as they could often change how you played the game. Wrath onwards missed that quality - though exchanged it for more reliable upgrades and less auto-sharding.
When i was 15 started playing wow in legion i remember coming home and booting wow and having ur videos playing on the background i watched soo much that i got nostalgia for classic wow by proxy and now i have nostalgia from the actual video series😅
I was a hunter back in Vanilla who had no idea what he was doing… I need rolled on edgemaster’s handguards because they were purple and mail and I could wear them… I wore them for a while and if I remember correctly lost an in game friend over the need roll
I've always loved your content and your personality MadSeason, I just don't play classic anymore due to finding it addictive, so I am just leaving a like and a comment to help the algorithm gods. The videos you make are always awesome and I hope you continue to succeed
If you ever want to know what Everquest was like in the days before WoW, imagine obtaining the Tidal Charm like the majority of good items in the game.
Oh i have the collectors edition pets lol. Like i havent been subbed in a few years but the account still exists. My dad bought the game on launch but they were out of normal copies so he got the collectors edition. Some fun facts about the pets: -Initially you could only pick one upon making a new character, but once they made pets account wide, you got access to all 3. -When classic re-released, you got access to the original collectors edition pets too if you had bought the collectors edition on the same account 15 years before. -In like 2018 there was the Starcraft 20th anniversary event where if you used /salute on a starcraft themed pet during the event, you would get a feat of strength. I remember taking my zergling into antorus lfr and telling people to /salute it for a free achiev
So hear me out madseason…my personal favorite item is this: primal hakkari manslayer. A 1h axe from zg, with a 2.00 speed, a lifesteal, and NOT unique. So I kinda made a name for myself, and even had shoutouts in metagoblins videos, because I made a couple videos and posted them of me making my “melee spellpower hunter” builds work, and do very competitive dps. So what you do is get x2 of these axes since they’re not unique, and go full melee as BM, obviously with wing clip spam, while wearing normal attack power gear, but stacking spellpower consumes and buffs, and dragon breath chili (which also scales with spellpower), and shadow oil on offhand. (Also scales). The axes (along with shadowstrike, and a couple other lifesteal and nature damage weapons in game) scale 1:1 with spell damage. So that itself is pretty cool. (Check out my vids if ya want) but what makes these axes so cool above the other spellpower scaling weapons, is that they’re higher dps/dmg, and they’re not unique, so you have 2 weapons with the same speed. I have a couple pvp videos of this build I need to put up too, and it is a god tier pvp meme build. When you hit with both weapons at the same time, with high crit (hunter), and also have your shadow oil, db chili, windfury, etc proc, and add on the damage of a nearly guaranteed raptor strike crit to one of those white hits…I was able to absolutely delete almost any class outside of well geared prot wars. Side note: the flame wreath polea from BRD is really cool too, because while the damage proc itself does not scale with spellpower, the reflect shield does…so you can pack up a dozen mobs on you, and with 400 spell power have the mobs hitting themselves for 413 damage ever melee for 12 sec.
Real twinks remember going to a trainer in SW, i think in SI:7 or whatever it’s called. You paid gold to stop XP gains. Aka you could stop XP leveling past a certain level bracket. I’ll never forget pimping out level 19, 29, 39 in each brackets. Good times indeed.
The WoW tabard was given to the highest ranked player on each faction after sometime after the honor system was released. At the time the people who were at the top of the pvp grind and closest to tank 14 won it. On Burning Legion-US it was given to Bremmen, a tauren shaman, and Bof, a human warrior. Both semi quit after getting rank 14 until WSG was released and you didn't have to solely rely on world pvp honor to get rank gains.
Glancing blow will occur 40% of the time no matter how much weapon skill you have, that's also another reason why your white hit crit cap is 60%. Higher weapon skill reduces damage reduction part of glancing blow penalty as well as allowing the requirement of your soft yellow hit cap to be significantly lower so you can gear up more crit.
I definitely remember the Pendulum of Doom being a highly sought weapon among warrior twinks way back when. I also remember farming out the Deathcharger's Reins after its drop chance was increased slightly in Wrath. I ended up getting the other rare drop off him which was the two handed sword. Never saw that fucking mount
LOL!!! I remember my lvl 19 Twink warrior. Yeah you could apply TBC leg enchants on low leg items AND add in stat boosts from Brewfest I would hit 2500 health in vanilla at level 19.
Whether or not Outland was originally intended to be in the base vanilla game is still debated. The WoW Diary stated that the version of Hellfire Peninsula that's in the game files was never meant to be an actual zone, it was just a placeholder zone devs used to practice zone creation and making. First expansion was planned to be South Seas until they rushed out TBC
“…and so that’s where you’ll find the legendary sword of the Scarlet Highlord, Ashbringer. Ain’t it amazing what you run into in an ordinary day of fishin’?" I miss when Blizz trolled us like that
Madseason, you have to cover the 1 in 1,000 2h sword that had a chance to summon a friendly mob and drops off the end boss of UBRS. My Dad won the roll on this in classic and it was iconic.
Back in December of 2010, I was in Sporeggar farming some rep or something, and I saw I had mail from a game master or blizzard or something like that. I was surprised and ran to the mailbox. I then saw 3 pieces of mail, containing each of the collectors edition pets (zerg, panda, diablo). I got the feats of strength for them and everything. Still to this day, I don't know why. All I can surmise is extreme luck and mod gave them to the wrong account. I don't understand it at all. I don't think anyone believes me, but I keep the panda cub behind me as it goes to sleep and it's cool. It's still one of my pinnacle trophies in gaming to this day.
I heard Skull of Impending Doom and "incredibly useful" and thought "hang on, does it have some sort of secret effect that I didn't know about... Oh, or is he thinking about PvP. Right, he's thinking about PvP. Naw, totally useless then." :D
I actually got pendulum of doom on my unofficial hardcore warrior. - So I was only allowed to do the dungeon once and I got it. Definitely the rarest thing that's happened to me in WoW
I already had Deathcharger’s Reins and it dropped for me again last night and I gave it away to a warrior who was running with us. I had no idea it was that rare 😂
Even thou I got the Rivendare Deathcharger I feel bad about it, because I didn't know how special it is when I got it. I was just there that day doing something random.
17:45 ahhhh Really Sticky Glue. Saved my ass twice in Hardcore. Every HC character I make (I only play horde) does this quest, no matter how far I have to travel, I get there.
There was a sword of a thousand truths put into the game for a little while after the South Park episode. I saw it being sold by the PVP vendor in Gadgetzan

I might have some rose tinted glassea when saying this but the Maul of the Redeemed Crusader is probably one of the best looking 2h maces they have made to date
Hey MadSeason, love the content, always a great video. Question, are the MadStreams coming back for Fresh? Enjoyed spending countless hours on Twitch watching Classic, Hardcore and SoD. Now Classic Classic, Let’s GO!

Had that old Classic bug chewing on my mind lately. I mean I could level a 6th warrior. Hmm. IDK. I have a full AQ40 HoR Warr that was logged out before TBC Classic released, and was never assigned into an Era realm. Wondering if he's still there....

This brought back so much nostalgia for me.
Deathcharger took me 270 runs but i never hopped on another ground mount again. Best shadow priest mount in the game :)
I dont even care that all of these have been covered before on this channel. Ill listen again.
I still have my mini Diablo pet. It’s the only one I ever have out. Surprised you talked about the original collectors edition pets, no one ever does
Hey MadSeason, love the content, always a great video. Question, are the MadStreams coming back for Fresh? Enjoyed spending countless hours on Twitch watching Classic, Hardcore and SoD. Now Classic Classic, Let’s GO!
It sounds like he is doing the OSRS thing and won't be streaming that to avoid spoilers, and he won't have time for much WoW
Absolutely crushing it with the perfectly selected donkey kong music, no cap, some of the best music ever
5:10 wow that warlock is very good :)
Genuinely surprised MadSeason didn't remind us that he told us so when he brought up RMT through boosting
Cant wait to watch this
8:05 I could've sworn right after this they added an NPC you could talk to to disable XP gain from battlegrounds?
Madseason I hope to see you out leveling in these fresh realms with us
0:32 I mean he's right they did sacrifice uniqueness for Balance to be a functioning spec in PVE.
8:20 me when racism is best in slot
11:02 with respect to the pets its only a matter of time until one day even these get added to the HIT IN GAME SHOP TO BUY WITH YOUR MONEY
Got the Death Chargers Reins three weeks ago after two decades of wanting it.
Still cruise around on my Baron mount even in retail. Took me forever to get that thing lol
*THE SWORD OF A THOUSANDS TRUTHS, SON!*
Had that old Classic bug chewing on my mind lately. I mean I could level a 6th warrior. Hmm. IDK.
I have a full AQ40 HoR Warr that was logged out before TBC Classic released, and was never assigned into an Era realm. Wondering if he's still there....
Minmaxxer detected point at him and laugh
@@professionalhater3929 I ain't got time to be a sweatie anymore.
I cant even count how many times I ran that UNDEAD STRAT for that undead mount and never got it. saw it drop a few times, but just couldnt get it >
yo hold up the subject transition between weapon skills and the South Park episode is kinda smooth I didn't even know what hit me at first
Twinks were so much fun to play! 😍 I had a hunter that we would go into WSG and 1-shot people with our fishing poles 😂 Two of my friends in the level 29 bracket, a priest and a rogue; 😶 They camped a level 60 warlock outside of Booty Bay 💀 🤣
thanks for the upload
