Can I guess that it will be a block of reptichip or prococo (same thing/same price). Excellent video!!! I have tried the directions from the package and also Justin Kobylka's way of dunking the whole block which works great for breaking it up.i had just got finished preparing a block last night and wished I had waited on doing so. I'll definitely be trying your method as u sir are correct about it taking forever to dry out. I made the mistake of using it right away and it was crazy high humidity for a week. I had to blast the heat in my room to help it eventually get to a normal level. Thanks Bill and as always great video!!!!! Can't wait for the giveaways!!
robert sowers actually I forgot to mention that part. This block can be purchased for 2 for 20 at many reptile shows! Is just about an inch smaller than the reptichip. So far so good in my opinion!!👍
Congrats on 865 subs you will be at 900 in no time. Ill definitely be doing this friday when i change my 2 snakes bedding i have been puting it in a bucket of water and puting it out in the sun a few days your way is a lot better thanks!
Thank you so much for the shout out Bill means so much. Btw I use the prococo as well but I drill holes in about 4 5 and then add hot water helps to soak all the way thru got that tip from ballpythons101 makes the soak time take way less then you can start getting it to dry relatively faster
BC Pythons yea I seen it with Chris from ballpythons101 and I have tried it a few times works great. At the end tho everyone can do it different ain't nothing wrong with how your doing it I see it stays way dryer thru and thru
Great video Bill. Love the tarantulas setup’s. Love your reptile room. Stay blessed bro. Can’t wait for the surprise giveaway and the Tee shirt giveaway
Adventures with Reptiles I do store mine and have some on hand. I usually keep the uncovered to make sure it dries out, that way mold won't grow. I also turn it over in the tub helps.
We use Reptichip as well, but I've been interested in Prococo. Seems to be relatively the same with minimal dust. I think we might just give it a whirl. Thanks Bill.
Nice video! Interesting method for breaking down the coco blocks. I typically just break the entire block down at once and store it in a larger tub. Your method would work good if you are limited on space and did not want to break up the entire block.
I want to win the surprise lol I have an extra ice chest that I fill about 1/4 full with hot water then throw one of those bricks in and shut the lid. Later that day open it up mix it around and separate some to dry out before using then I always have some on hand. Nice video Bill.
I have a ball pied python and I was wondering should the substrate be dry or wet enough to where you can make a ball but not dripping? Struggling to keep humidity at 60% in my tank. I got over 75% of the tank covered and I have to mist every hour or it will drop under 40%.
I would only mist every few days its much better to be on the dry side. Too much moisture can cause mold and respiratory problems. I only extra mist when the snake goes into shed cycle. Humidity can be affected by where you live also.
@@gabriellenichols6595 it really depends on where you live. But yes, that is OK as long as you do mist or dump water bowl into the substrate every 3 days

Blythe Dyson one of the cleanest rooms I've seen on youtube!!!
Great video and info keep up the amazing work bud
Great video! Would there be any down side to soaking an entire brick then storing the loosened substrate in a lidded plastic tote to use as needed?

Cool, thanks for the pointers. :)
Thats how i do mine only with the lid off. I also do as bill said and just dump it over in another tub snout doesn't mold at the bottom. Good question
Love everything you do. Keep up the good work!
Great advice Bill. Keep up the amazing job.
Awesome video Bill I need to get me some
MadBio Reptiles I have always used it and have great sheds!
Do you need to use conditioned water or can you use tap or filtered water? I’m trying to set up my tank.
Like that method. Seems faster. Thank for sharing.

love the vids mate, what other substraights do you use?
Chriss Payne I use paper towels for hatchlings, then put them on coco chips at about 200grams
Nice video buddy. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

@@BillPerryBCPythons so it's okay if my humidity is only at 40% during non shedding?

What do you do with the others you have left
Joshua Lattieri store in a vented tub and let dry.
Oh such good advice.
