My experience with dirt bikes was an RM 125 in the 70's & I rode my friends Husky 400 a few times. So much fun

A friend of mine had this bike on one ride the piston broke. He brought the motor to my house. We split the cases, cleaned it out and use JB weld to fix the cracks in the crank case put it back together with a new piston and it ran just fine. Those were super fun times.

My best friends dad broke his back on one of these , We tried to MX them and gave up ! so we put flat track tires on them and raced 1/4 mile oval , they were smoke-in fast and a blast to race .

Hi Jeffrey Yeah your correct these were still good bikes although maybe not suitable for their original intention of off-road motocross they just needed sorting out which to be fair Honda did try . . . but then again this was Suzuki’s first attempt at building a Motocrosser but this old “Cyclone” did claim it’s fair share of casualties so I hope your friends dad has made a good recovery.

Those were great bikes but quickly forgotten when RM came out. When the RM 125 and 250 came out they just would destroy the european stuff on the track and Japans dominance began for many decades, but now as in Moto Gp the top dirtbikes ,track or enduro may be european, KTM,GasGas and Husky ...?
