    I'm an audiophile and this Receiver didn't get a good review on another UA-cam post. but it sounds good to me. it's all about the $$$$ dollars.......... They(some) don't want you to believe that you can get Audiophile or Good quality sound with an inexpensive gear like this. My point is don't let anyone color your thoughts about a particular gear or what sounds good or not to you...... you listen and you determine. forgive my grammar.

    Thank you for this review. I’ve just ordered this to replace my old faithful Harmon Kardon receiver from 1987 that finally gave out.
    All I need to do now is to figure out where to set it up. Main TV with blue Ray and Bose surround sound system is in larger living room.
    Stereo components are housed in an adjacent room.
    Question… Is there a way to sync the two rooms together and still have the option of listening separately if I want?

    • @GramophoneMD

      Yes, if you configure your primary zone for five channel instead of seven, you can use the last two channels as a Zone 2.

    I'm having a issue one wifi won't connect but, that's not a big deal. But, I do have Atmos speakers front towers with 2 connections one of course regular connections and the other one is height but, avr does not have height inputs like my old Oknyo did. So where do I plug the cables to height speakers on the avr? Also it's hooked up to 10inch sub that is not powered came in with the Oknyo theater bundle it's a beast but, it's turnt half way and, I play battlefield explosions go off the either the avr or TV goes black what is that indication that never happened with my old Oknyo. I appreciate any input.

    Im trying to run this receiver with 4 Klipsch RP-240d's, one Klipsch RP-640d, and one 16" SVS subwoofer. Do you believe this will push enough power to get the most out of this 5.1? OR should I go ahead and start looking into a 4-5 channel amp to run with a smaller receiver?

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  Рік тому

      It will, though I would recommend stepping up to a Marantz SR5015 or SR6015, the voicing of the Marantz better balances out the treble of Klipsch products.

That being said your Def Techs are not difficult to drive so my above recommendations should do you well. • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  3 роки тому

      It's the same power. You may be thinking of the single channel maximum dynamic power rating which is an extremely niche circumstance. That's not the number you want to use when shopping for receivers as it really is not realistic. 90 watts with two channels driven is the best case scenario for the S9xx series receivers.

    • @scotm3599
      @scotm3599 3 роки тому

      companies like to use bs ratings....like with my S750h (165W per channel 6 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 10%, 1ch driven) blah blah blah... no one is using their system that way with only one speaker.
      I am using 8ohlm speakers which drops the power rating to a truer 75 W a channel

    I doubt those HDMI 2.1 ports are full bandwidth buddy. You might want to check on that so you're not giving out false info. Great video though.

    • @GramophoneMD
      @GramophoneMD  3 роки тому +11

      You're correct that they aren't "full bandwidth". They are 40 Gbps instead of "full" 48 Gbps. The only instance you would need a full 48 Gbps is for uncompressed 12-bit color on 8k at 60 Hz and 4k at 120 Hz while running all the HDMI 2.1 specific features like VRR, Dolby True HD Atmos (the real Atmos as it is uncompressed), auto low latency mode, eARC, etc... No TV that currently exists provides a true 12-bit panel. Some may accept a 12-bit signal but that means nothing as the panel will not be able to display that extended color detail. Even the most expensive and performant TVs made today like OLED or Sony Master Series 8K for example are all 10-bit. 40 Gbps is sufficient for a full uncompressed 10-bit signal and with all of those extras, too. 48 Gbps will not be a practical concern for still many years. TV tech is just not there yet.
