The lease we signed says we are responsible for the lawn maintenance, we took care of the lawn but several bushes died from the heat wave/drought we had for two years in Texas.
They are now trying to change us for each bush that died, leaving us with no deposit.
They are trying to charge us for bushes they haven’t bought BUT plan to after the summer.
I can’t seem to find anything in renters laws that show if we do indeed have to pay for dead bushes.
How can they hold us accountable for this?

It's been a year but note to future people, this is an Act of God and can't hold you responsible

Most of these 'leases' make the landlord the sole arbiter to interpret the lease as they see fit and allows the landlord to punish the tenant for even minor infractions. If the tenant ever has issues where the landlord is failing at fulfilling their side of the lease, the tenant gets shafted. Landlords seem to have an army of lawyers backing them.

I am having issues with being harrassed from a neighbor. I have notified the leasing office and they are not going anything. We are looking into breaking our lease due to this. They are still allowing him to harrass and yell at us because he is struggling with some kind of issues. But it is an unsafe. Is there a way to get out of the lease without paying the fees? We have a police report.

My landlord issued me a repossession of premises letter after my lease ended, then issued me an addition violation notice for failure to maintain electricity within that 30 days, fined me $103 dollars to be paid in full within 3 days demanding that I immediately vacate or legal actions would be taken against me and my deposit would be taken for damages because I chose not to renew another lease due to negligence of any mold repairs. Is that legal?

I have a big question for anyone knowing about "breach of lease" laws:
When i moved into my grandma's apartment (she was constantly in the hospital and unable to pay the bills so i decided to stay there with my gf while working and maintaining her apartment space) we told the landlord we were going to be staying there, and she agreed that we could- without giving us another lease to sign. It's been over 12 months and the landlord recently retired and had her daughter be the new landlord of the place.
The new landlord is now saying we have a "breach of lease" because our names were not stated in the lease, even when we were technically waiting on a new lease for us to sign within that entire stay period. Now she's saying [ONLY OVER TEXT] to pack up. What should i do as a broke 20 year old with no lawyer?

I did leave out that we told the new landlord about my grandma having to move away because she was deathly ill, and she stated that she would be providing a NEW lease for me and my gf to sign alone. So we waited. For months. And we got absolutely nothing in return but a text saying we need to leave.

In my case I just rented a duplex from the landlord with no appliances and he told me that's my responsibility?
Plus it has been over 10 days and he has not repair nothing on the kitchen cabinets. The whole apartment has to get repainted. I just want to know who's responsible for providing appliances in the state of Texas

Usually, a written agreement is the only legally binding agreement!

My land lord is trying to keep a rent overpayment (my lease ends today) to apply to “damages” after walkthrough.
I wrote a letter and told them this is wrong. Do I have any recourse?
