I know this is 2 years old, but I think you put the rear in upside down. The threaded coil over part is supposed to be on the top above the Spring. That way you lower the car down to the Spring, not lowering the car and the Spring down. I would think that creates more bounce and crappie ride. Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic, I only play one on TV and the Internet...... @MTLjack
@@maddog063 you do need to set the strut length to match the height of the spring. Spring perch is for height adjustment, then you need to set the strut to match it for proper dampening
yOU FORGOT ABOUT squat wHEN YOU LOWER YOUR CAR OFF THE STANDS ITS ROUGHLY HALF AN INCH HIGHER OR more Don't forget to take it for a whip around the block before measuring to find the true ride height.
Just a quick advice on the rear lower strut bolt, make sure to raise the hub / control arm at the rear to release pressure from the bolt otherwise, it might snap due to the pressure from the spring / shock.
bro thanks a lot, completed my install bec of u however my rear seems to be really bouncy tho can u help me out? For the rear damper how do i adjust it so that it eliminate the bouncy action of the rear, ur rrsponse will mean a lot
@@MTLJack bro coilovers and it has same as your in the rear im just lost how to adjust it so it wont be bouncy, can you guide me kindly pls. Appreciate ur reply really
Assuming correct installation your preload is probably too soft, compress the spring a tad bit more. The other option is that the shock absorber is leaking/blown in which case you might wanna make things easier for him and reduce the preload to increase suspension travel but reduce bouncyness. It’s hard to diagnose over the internet but I hope it helps
Dude is a savage he did the whole job while wearing Crocs
Ain't no way I'm wearing shoes as well😂
don’t forget to torque ur stuff guys
how are these working for you now? any problems?
Holt cow, this helps sooooo much!! I have the exact same coilovers, I was scared I was missing parts
Glad it helped! make sure to like the video and maybe subscribe !
Thanks for this video. Helped me a lot on my coilover swap.
Thank you for sharing this! Wish I saw this when I was swapping my coils
Those brake lines took some abuse when you were removing the springs! I would usually take the caliper off just as a habit.
You said deezzzz nuts 🥜 😂😂😂

im not a mechanic either hahahaha , thanks for pointing out my mistake buddy
Yea I was looking at the comment section to see if anyone pointed that out
Because the strut and spring are very close together
@@fa5cordero819 yeah the load of rear struts won't absorb the load like its designed to. Since its upside down it should bounce a lot in the rear.
Next time just remove wiper arms and plastic trim. Makes it so much easier to access strut mount nuts.
Yea this is one of my older videos. Back then , i wasn't as good at DIY haha
Hands Down ! 🔥
Do you have to readjust the shock absorber in the rear when adjusting the height?
You shouldn't. The spring should be doing all the height adjustment in the rear

@@loganlosee6933 you're right. My mistake.
Any tips on the shock length ?
Bolts, tie wraps. Same thing.
Where did you get fog lights from
Super old video but the real upper control arm 19mm is captive you don’t need a wrench it’s welded to the hub , (for a 2006 si a least)
It was a nut for the Acura CSX (Canadian only model) but thanks for sharing :)
there is recommend of coilsovers?
I want to but cheap ones, somthing up to 300 dollars
don’t cheap out on suspension, you’re gonna be jumping up and down all the time
so can you adjust rear ride height without taking the spring out ? or only have to relieve pressure
No need to relieve pressure but you need to jack the car. The perch is strong enough to go against the spring pressure.

Thanks for the tip! I did this a while ago haha
So you say all coilovers fit, FD,FN,FG etc? All the same for fd3, fn3 etc?
All same suspension design :)
MTLJack thank you! Saves me a lot now!

Did the rubber cones above the rear springs get damaged like mine?
Usually their not damaged. My mom has a civic 10th Gen (same as Acura CSX) and we had it for 13 years. Still intact
MTLJack some how mine got eaten up bad with these Ultimo coils on my 8th Feb
how many inches you put in the spring
Civic❤️

You need to adjust the damper harder my friend
Are you installing coilovers or just springs?

2:28 ha gottem
I bet that ride was like a go kart huh? Too much preload on the rear spring.
i actually don't remember hahahah
#morelow 😉
Great video! I just picked up my CSX Type-S not long ago! Still dont know what coilovers to buy, check out my channel!
How long would you say the install is in total?
