How to make coconut streusel rolls
Ingredients:
Dough
All purpose flour-2&1/2 cup ( 325 g )
Salt-1/2 teaspoon
Sugar-1/4 cup ( 50 g)
Luke warm milk-160ml
Egg- 1 large ( at room temperature)
Instant yeast-1&1/2 teaspoon
Unsalted butter-50g ( Softened)
Coconut Streusel:
Desiccated coconut-50g (3/4 cup)
Condensed milk-2 tablespoon
Unsalted butter-30g ( Softened)
Egg yolk-1
Egg white-1 for egg wash
This recipe make 9-12 rolls
Method:
1. Mix warm milk, yeast, sugar and lightly beaten egg.
2. Add the flour and salt.
3. Mix and knead the dough for 3-4 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rest for 1-2 hours.
5. Mix all the ingredients for coconut streusel and keep aside.
6. Once the dough has doubled the size , transfer it to a floured surface and roll out into thin rectangular sheet.
7. Spread the prepared streusel as a thin layer over the sheet.
8. Roll up the sheet tightly into a log shape and seal the edges.
9. Trim the ends and cut the roll equally.
10. Place it in a greased baking pan and let it rest for 30-60 minutes.
11. After 30 minutes give it an egg wash.
12. Bake in a preheated ( 180C for 10 minutes.) oven at 180C for 25-30 minutes.
13. Once it is done, take out from the oven and brush melted butter.
