Hi Apollo, great campaign so far, and I really admire you a lot on how you still manage to hold the Aizu clan together in this tough times. I hope you dont mind some advices, because im sure that i would love to see this campaign thriving as much as the next guy. This might be a lot to take in, so please bare with me.
1. Your 4-star general is in dire situation of defecting. This is due to his low loyalty (currently at 2). If you use him to attack any enemy forces that has a general with 3 or more loyalty, there is a high chance your general and some of his army will defect (which you had previously encounter in earlier part of this campaign). So you could either raise his loyalty by research civil tech, commission or daimyo honours; or try and use him for defensive battle. I havent encounter any defection in defensive battle, but it is best to avoid the situation altogether by keeping an eye out for your general loyalty in the first place.
2. You need more happiness building, which means police station and inn. Your clan has been destroyed by rebel and raiding non stop, so you need public order to calm everyone down. Only then can you push out, which leads to my next point is
3. You need to attack. It is incredible that you have been holding so well, but you are in too many wars now, and the enemies will keep coming. Northern Japan in FOTS is really huge, with only a few city scattered around, which means you need to travel for so dear long just to defend your land. So i think it is best to consolidate your clan elsewhere, maybe pushing up further north where there is less bordering, and the travel distance is shorter, which makes defending better. You just cant keep defending forever, the enemy will eventually grind you down.
4. Garrison is expendable. Please dont worry about them getting wiped out, they will instantly respawn to full unit whenever the city is attacked. So in a seige battle, always use the garrison first, as frontline, so they can soak some damage for your main force.
5. I find that gun units tend to approach broken gates in siege battle, which allow you to funnel them into a choke point (which is the gates). So sometimes, you could use opened gates to your advantage, or even destroy your gates purposely to draw the enemy in that way.
6. You need more civil tech rather than military, because you need more income and public order, which allow you to have more troop. Levy should do just fine at this stage, it is better to modernise your army when you have already stable your economy situation first.
Im terribly sorry for this wall of text, but i do hope you could give it a read, and hopefully those tips would help your campaign in some ways !!

@Pixelatedapollo1 to answer your question about the number of dead at the Capital. You have had 17 battles, and 17 victories. Casualties total 29,684. 7,523 friendly. And 22,161 enemy.

Well, things like this are why Shogun 2's AI in hard mode is so annoying; But, I think you should reinforce the city that has the fewest troops, one or two units is enough, and if I were you I would send the Geisha to explore the neighboring city to the North, to destroy its buildings with your cavalry and maybe win some money in the process (you may even be able to weaken them to destroy them later, since he has sent you like 5 armies in this episode). Also, you should focus on buildings that increase happiness and public order technologies (so that at least rebellions stop appearing), another option is to put the Shinsengumi agent in one of your unruly cities.

you can try and make peace with factions once you destroy one of their large armies. they are more likely to agree.

A military barracks then a police station is the best way to start a settlement. It gives you better garrison and better town order.
Hey Apollo, something i found helpfull when I wanted peace is trying to settle for peace after you fought an army. They have lost a chunk of their military might and are therefor more acceptable to peace. This will work better with the side you're on (shogonute). Loving how youre standing strong against these unending waves.

I've got a few tips for Shogun 2 that might enhance your gameplay:
1. **Set the battle timer to 20 minutes** to avoid bugs and to use time strategically[^1^][1].
2. **Use your Daimyo and generals wisely** in the early campaign to besiege and recruit simultaneously.
3. **Morale is key**: Keep your units within your general's circle of influence to protect their morale
4. **Train Ashigaru units**: They are cost-effective and can be quite powerful when used in large numbers
5. **Upgrade your troops**: Train elite melee troops at a blacksmith for armor upgrades, ranged units at a fletcher for accuracy, and cavalry at stables for an extra charge bonus.

When you're not using your agents it's good to put them in your cities so they gain experience and buff your armies.
Hey Apollo, wheb your getting sieged why dont you set up all you guns around the entire perimeter before starting the battle, i know you can see the enemy but at least everyobe will already be in position when it does start and you can just move the ones you dont need

We would love it if you did a bannerlord aserai campaign where you try and become king of the south and only use aserai equipment and troops.This could be the rule until you conquer new city’s of different cultures then you could use that cultures troops and equipment

Did everyone declare war on you because you discovered all the factions, in particular the pro imperial ones? I think that’s where a lot of your headaches are coming from, so instead of them fighting each other or other wars they are sailing 100’s of miles for you lol. I could be mistaken, but I think that’s the problem.

When asking for a trade agreement with a 'friendly' clan, try to ask for money from them. Sometimes they will agree to pay a few 1000 gold just for the trade agreement. You could use the money xp

Apollo just secure your borders by putting your best men at the ports so they can't invade...once to do that... Then go on conquest and gain more allies because you have a strong army when it comes to defense of your home land

You can place your geisha in one of your town. If placed in a friendly town geisha improve growth simply by their presence
Send your Geisha to the recently captured territory and have her entertain the nobles. It will help with public order and increase support for the Shogunate
