  • I used to really enjoy listening and indeed recording the BBC Radio 1 In Concert series on a Saturday evening during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. I also caught a few BBC Radio Friday Rock Show and Capital Radio sessions. I still have the cassette tapes and as the BBC has no immediate plan to make these available to the public I have decided to release close to 250 of these historical recordings on my UA-cam channel.

I was there. One of those rare occassions when a band you've never heard totally win you over in a single set. Magnificent.

Likewise I was there, too. Thought they were a fine rock n roll band, very impressive and fun and I’d also not heard of them prior to the event. I enjoyed them more than Quo and Iggy that year. Great that these Reading concerts were often recorded.

I heard this on the radio, and like the SRV Reading gig - blew me away. I saw them twice at The Town and Country after - incredible

Oh my, the memories! Thank you for uploading this, Reading 87 was my first festival, and I apparently wasn't drunk enough as I remember so much of it. I had the GS album, long lost, but I might compile a list of the artists I loved and saw here for the lols!

Yep. Me too. Quo were not happy about following them either. lol . I have had his show on CD for ever. Sends a shiver down my spine every time I listen to it.
Gig that changed my life. I met my wife because of this band. I moved to Nashville after working with Dan Baird in 2000 and he's a good friend to this day. And still putting out killer albums - latest one that just came out is superb. Him and Stan Lynch - "The Chefs".

@@Syze1 Fair comment. Loved the Quo when they were a grebo band and saw the original band a few times.BUT the satellites were amazing. Rock and roll brother.

It was a great weekend. I probably own all of my Georgia Sats. albums because of that gig. It's a shame what Readings has turned into
