Loved seeing the aesthetic inspo for the kitchens 😍
thank you! it was my favorite part to add into the video! ☺
My dude! Had to check this out…I picked up a Eureka Oro in December and am loving it so far.
dude, yes!! that's so great to hear! I've really loved using it too! thanks for commenting ☺
I have these 3 grinders in my shop. In this order: Eureka Oro, Niche and last DF64. Eureka Oro is the best by the craftmanship and grind quality far way is the best.
Very informative!
Your video helped me discover something that changed my mind on a grinder I was set on, I very appreciate it.
Oh wow I’m glad I could help! Would you mind me asking what it was? ☺️
Absolutely.
I was going to go with a conical burr grinder because the consensus out there seems that the flavor profile with conical is more diverse due to the differences in grind size (smaller and larger size particles) as opposed to a more “uniform” extraction from flat burrs. But, I’m leaning a bit more towards flat burrs now because I like a full bodied taste in my espresso drinks and can probably adjust the flavor profiles of the coffee with flow control on an espresso machine. I haven’t done that yet but would I be right with assuming those flavor differences between conical and flat burr grinders?
@@brotherbeyer the way my taste buds perceive it, yes!! Other people feel different but any time I dial in with a conical (especially light bright coffees) come off as brighter and more acidic (in a good way when dialed properly), and then flat burrs with the same coffee doesn’t have as pronounced of acidity!
@@jimmythebaristayeah man I can totally see that. I spoke to a few coffee experts in Europe (those working in the coffee industry for over 15-40 years that also own retail stores and coffee shops) and it was interesting that every single one mentioned that they way prefer flat burrs over conical in taste, uniformity, and consistency. They also recommended bean hopper grinders as opposed to single dose grinders. Basically because they felt that working with espresso for so many years, they’d rather have a quick timed dose over the process of weighing and such. They also mentioned that the difference between single dose and hopper dosing was marginal and that the main concern was the overall quality of the grinder and it’s ability to produce great grinds without too many fines that could contribute to bitter coffees. I thought I’d share because these guys have opinions which I highly respect from their years of experience. 😎
@@brotherbeyer wow I love this comment. Thank you for sharing this!! ☺️
Bro this was so good! Such an informative vid! I don’t really mess with espresso currently, but this made me think twice 😅🤔
dude I'm so glad you liked the video! I've got more videos on espresso grinders coming out soon so hopefully that will help when making your decision! ☺️
I just want to say I really appreciated the way you structured the video and edited your script. You gave you personal opinion but also did real testing and supported with objective information, no monologues or rambling. I’ve found Coffee UA-cam is one of the worst at this 😂🤦🏻♀️
oh my gosh I don’t know how I missed this! but you have no idea how much this comment means to me! thank you so so much 🥹🫶🏽
Awesome video! Now I hope you make a video using your favorite grinder to dial in your espresso with the profitec! Would love to get some tips on improving my shots and dialing in.
robb, you read my mind!! working on a video for the end of the month/start of march! thank you brother! ☺️
“Zilch” haha this was nostalgic to hear. Solid video Jimmy!
oh gosh.. am I getting old? 😳😂 thanks mark!!
Great video fun and informative, nicely done
Orrin, thank you so much! ☺️
@@jimmythebarista Your welcome sir
Great review!! Thanks!! But you forgot to talk about retention!
Love this video and agree %100
I have a Lagom mini Comandante x25 and Eurika ORO, and the Eurika is my daily driver for espresso. I like having the options to play around using different brew methods and different espresso machines, but from this level budget standpoint the Eurika ORO has been a joy for the nearly 2 years of service so far. Zero retention without RDT and without using the bellows.
The only downside if I had to say one, is that without slight modification it’s really espresso only. It makes a great pour over, but too many fines. The modification would effect it’s zero retention, so I left it alone and give it a 10/10 for flavor profile on espresso. Definitely made the right choice. Also I hate anything that is over hyped and average like the Niche for example. Glad I didn’t get stuck with that I almost ordered it instead of the Oro… yikes.
Very nice!! We got similar taste. I like the eureka to but i am bias. 😁
it's definitely an amazing grinder! it's both beautiful and just super satisfying to use! thanks ruben ☺️
Nice review video, i actually own a MaCap M4D and windering if i can make it a single dose coffee grinder only swapping the hopper, i mean what make a single dose grinder itself?
Thanks for your content
thanks jai! you definitely could depending on if the manufacturer or an Etsy account created a specific 'single dosing hopper' for the MaCap M4D! basically, a single dose hopper is made for those who don't like to keep beans in the hopper (at-home baristas over shop baristas). it doesn't do anything special other than reduce the size of the hopper!
Picked up DF64 with titanium burr and popcorn basket for that price not to beat the real value for the Money and on top of that I like dark chocolate flavours in my Espressos.
Have the grinder now for a month very pleased wirh it after grinding maximum remaining grind is only 0.1 gram sometime 0 gr.
JTB got me on my RTD game
my boyyyyyy 😮💨🤌🏽
Great video. What about folks that don’t appreciate the steps and lean towards more of the super-automatics?
thanks so much bret! I'm sorry I don't think I understand what you mean. could you elaborate? ☺️
@@jimmythebarista I know that this is blasphemous, but machines like the Jura s8 or Breville oracle touch
ohhhh I see! first off, not blasphemous at all! the oracle touch can make some great coffee! those machines are a bit tougher because the grinder is more of an internal component rather than something you can mod yourself, but I definitely still think it would benefit from single dosing and RDT! you might have to over dose just a bit, maybe by 1g or 2, but it'll get the job done! 👊🏽
The touch has a porta filter where the Jura does not
Do you really have to have the grinder predialed in to use?
I’m so sorry.. not sure I understand. As in ‘seasoned’? Some people think you need to grind a certain amount of coffee through a new grinder, but idk that it matters that much. At least not for me!
🙌🙌🙌🙌
appreciate this brother!! ☺️
@@jimmythebarista of course brother 🙌 anytime 🫶
Electric? Screw that! Don’t skip the workout my dude 😎💪 Manual is for the chads.
(Avery from cormorantcoffee hi Jimmy ❤)
😂😂 true!! can't miss out on pumping those biceps! thanks for watching Avery ☺️
@@jimmythebarista been grinding for Turkish recently with my J-Max, and I’ve been left almost out of breath after grinding just 10 grams of coffee 😅
Interesting that this video is sponsored by Clive and your recommendation is one of the grinders they sell while you write off the Niche Zero which they don't sell - why was it even included in the review if not to bash the competition? Seems like a pretty obvious move to promote Clive's inventory over the Niche Zero. Also, this is probably the only review ever stating that the Niche Zero has bright acidity - the conical burrs are supposed to promote a muted acidity compared to flat burrs.
I have lelit fred 3 year. I need good grinder for 500 euro
I have zero care how a grinder looks . I just want the best consistent grinder to make my espresso pop
that’s great! but not everyone’s the same and some people factor aesthetic into the gear they want to buy!
the Eureka is the most beautiful, but the reproducibility with the grinding level setting is horrible. The DF64 also looks cheap to me, the new ones like the DF64V look more elegant - the Niche has the best workflow, my girlfriend loves the look - tastes are so different
I have owned both the DF64 and the Niche, and I totally disagree that the Niche produces more acid/fruity forward flavor profile than the DF64 does-- in fact, the opposite! And from my travels on the web, most people agree that the conical Niche produces more chocolate-forward flavors, while the flat burred DF64 leans towards more brightness.
I appreciate your feedback! I'm sure there's many different opinions and this one is just mine! Hopefully you found something you love! Thanks for the comment!
In what world is the niche zero acid forward lmao
I’m just sharing my thoughts 😅 we’re all entitled to taste what we taste
pardon, if say it too directly - but the more superficial description with "phantasmic" taste experiences doesn't help in any way.....;-((
niche duo grinder the new version.....
900€....
@shakeshaftfish haven’t used the new one but I’m guessing it’ll be an amazing grinder. owning both would make you a super cafe!!
@claptoned0 I messed up on writing my currency in the video 😭 thanks for correcting it!! ☺️
The adjustments on the Eureka are garbage. You adjust it a little, nothing happens. You adjust a bit more, insane delta. You try to put it back to a previous setting for previous beans, no chance. Utter, utter, garbage user experience.
What really worries me its the retention on the eureka oro!🫠
hey gerardo! thanks for the comment! I haven't noticed crazy retention with it myself, but I'll continually post updates on these grinders on my Instagram account! ☺️
