The refreshed Explorer's interior is a giant improvement, and you can even play games on the screen! Let us know what video game you'd like to see added to the Explorer next in the comments below!
Amazing all of the features that take you away from driving. Alot of course cannot be used while the vehicle is in motion, but this setup, with less quick buttons, really makes you lose focus on the road ahead. Might be more the younger peeps are just better at this because they have been born with a screen in their hands :)@@Sticks1680
Having rear wheel drive until the AWD is activated is a huge plus for driving dynamics and that alone would put it near the top of the list along with the 4Runner.
What about the shifter dial? I felt the Expedition interior felt a little cheap (I had a '21), but the Explorer feels noticeably cheaper. The dial on the Explorer feels like a Fisher Price version of the dial size and material on the Expedition. Also, I appreciate that the Explorer gets a third row, but it's only usable for kids. I'm 6' tall and can't sit in the third row with any amount of comfort like I can in the Expedition. At least in the latter, I don't have to sit lower to keep my head from going through the headliner. When the third row is being used, what does the trunk space look like? I know that in the Expedition, if the third row is being used, you can't even fit a stroller in the trunk. Maybe some grocery bags, that's about it. Overall, I love Fords, but American car makers just don't do electronics all that well. I wish they'd go against the industry a bit and stick with analog gauges, and keep the infotainment screens and their functions in their place. I almost pulled the trigger on a new Mustang too, but frowned as soon as I saw it had an LCD cluster.
@@InHisGrace33I built a 2025 ST on line. Most of the options I wanted on a 2024 ST are now standard equipment on the 2025 Explorer ST. My loaded vehicle priced out just under $58,000 including shipping. I don't know how many performance SUV you've Shopped. But unless Ford changes pricing. That's a Hell of a deal. The only issue was if I financed. Ford Credit was showing a 7% interest rate. Are you aware the average price of a new vehicle which includes base models to loaded domestic models is $48,000. Some of the top selling vehicles like the Hyundai Elantra have MSRP's around $32,000 are in that average
It just took Ford 8 years to catch up on Audi digital cockpit but heck, still better than a lot of the competition. Let's hope they can bring their quality up to at least the average level for this class
I like they fixed the orientation of the screen, but can I get over seeing a trolls face below it with the vents as eyes and the storage ledge as the mouth lol
I recently test drove a Cx90 3 3 at Koons Mazda in my area. I've also driven my son's 2020 Explorer Limited. The Cx90 I tested was $61,000. It looked larger outside but was smaller inside. I'm looking to go back to an SUV from my 2019 sedan. After seeing a couple reviews and building a 2025 ST online that priced out under $58,000. I'll be waiting to see the actual vehicle and test drive the refreshed ST Explorer. I like the performance and all the standard features that were options on the 2024 ST along with the new digital tech. Regarding this video. Ford invited select automotive reviewers for a closed review. He was there to review the Refreshed 2025 Explorer ST. Not Mazda
I dumped the Explorer in 2011 after they turned it into a typical egg shaped crossover type car chassis. Bought the Expedition to keep the boxy shape (second row people room) and truck body on frame construction. Big mistake to take the Explorer off the body on frame construction market. Now Im waiting for the rumored 2025 hybrid Expedition....
That radio system with less buttons is terrible system on the Escape. Have to touch everything thing on the screen....really takes your eyes off of the road. If you rock out the voice commands, might work better.
Bring back physical buttons for climate control!! Even if they're permanent on the screen they're more difficult to use, every time you try to adjust fan speed you hit a bump and turn on max defrost.
First I thought 2025 Explorer is a brand new EV only model and will be manufactured in Oakville Plant. I guess that project must be killed. I think the interior of this new 2025 Explorer is light and year ahead of the current Explorer. Absolutely a thing of beauty. The new center console is great and useful. The info center display & functionalities if what describe here is true would be a major upgrade. Externally, Explorer has traditionally appeal to me. The exterior design takes a lot of design cues from Land Rover Range Rover. Something Ford "stole" from when it owned Land Rover years ago.
I really don't understand how ford designers think sticking an iPad to the dash of their vehicles looks good it does not!!! the touchscreens should be integrated into the dashboard
No physical HVAC buttons, no Limited trim, and another infotainment system that looks like a cheap tablet glued onto the wrong part of the dash. I'm out, finding something else.
I completely agree! Ford needs to do two things to compete properly going forward. First, take the Explorer and return it to its body on frame roots. Unibody vehicles are not really SUVs, they are CUVs. I would make it a two row real SUV and position it against the Toyota 4Runner and upcoming Land Cruiser. The Expedition and Expedition MAX can be the 3-row body on frame SUV. Second, I would bring the Chinese Edge, which is a 3-row CUV to the US. Third, Ford should immediately shelve the Explorer EV and retool the Oakville Plant to build the 3-row Edge and 2-row Lincoln Nautilus. Fourth, make hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of all these vehicles.
DO NOT TRUST FORD. I just ordered a 2023 Explorer. Ford changed the order without telling me or getting my approval. They deleted a $500 option but I still paid the dealer the full price negotiated that included that option. I've contacted Ford's customer service twice and the dealer several times and they said they are not going to help me. I wish I had gone with Toyota. Ugh.
You don't seem to understand you're buying from a dealer, not Ford. The dealer is Ford's customer until you sign a sales contract. Your dealer is trying to overcharge you if you let them. Ford can't do anything about this. A sealer can sell at any price they want. As you must be aware, MSRP is manufacturers SUGESTED retail price.

It only works while idle. A lot of people take lunches, or use these vehicles for work, so having full Android app capabilities is a nice feature. Currently Android Auto locks you out of any app not deemed "safe" even if the vehicle is parked.
3 months isn't too bad. I bought a Tremor in 2022 and waited 6 months. At the time, that was pretty fast. Are you sure the dealer placed your order? The dealer needs to have an allocation to place the order and it's not uncommon they take orders that they can't place until an allocation becomes available. Make the dealer give you a copy of the DORA if they haven't done so.
