    For past 5 years every auto journalist has criticised xuv300 for every single issue it had and xuv300 also almost died because of that so if mahindra has done a good job this time telling the truth is also everyone's responsibility.
    So thank you so much to both of you for doing that.

    Amazing video. Had gone through all online reviews but kept looking for this one to come online. Thanks !
    Along with a proper AT, the top diesel automatic also misses out on the ADAS 2 and 360 cameras as there is no AX5L or AX7L versions available with Diesel AMT.
    Would it be a acceptable compromise if someone wants Mileage and is okay with the missing ADAS 2 , 360 camera and AMT instead of a proper AT in Diesel ? Or are these features too good to miss out on , and one should extend budget and go for the top Petrol 'Luxury' ATs ?
    Keep up the Good work.

      Glad you liked the video! 🙏. We’d term ADAS and the surround view camera as premiums to be paid as per your discretion i.e. they’re not absolute must haves in my books.
      The diesel AMT is an acceptable solution, not a great one but it’s best to drive one yourself to see what you feel personally. I am expecting Mahindra to launch the Ls with the diesel AMT as well but how long before they do that is hard to say.

    One question please: Personally I prefer to drive Manual Transmission (MT) but this one (AX5 Pertrol MT) doesn't have the "dead padel", so I am little concerned about driving comfort (not sure how the clutch comfot is like either), could this could be an issue? I would have driven it but I am outside India, so can't. Please can you shade some light on this?

      Adaptive cruise control and smart pilot assist are not offered with the manual transmission AX5L or AX7L. AEB will work when a hazard is detected but yes, if the driver does not press the clutch or switch to the right gear in time (AEB doesn't necessarily bring the car to a dead stop, it can also brake to slow the car down and give the driver time to take evasive action if necessary), the car will stall.

    Sir, as seen and heard in the video plz mention following few doubts as follows -
    1. the chassis type used in Mahindra XUV 3xO is the same like XUV 300. Is the Tivoli chassis is more safe than Nexon chassis?
    2. By when shall we expect it's crash test video/ report under the banner of global n cap. But as mentioned in this video this car will score 5 star safety rating of both adults and child.
    3. Hill hold assist and descent assist feature is available in AX 5 varient or not
    4. Impact sensing auto door unlock feature is available in XUV 3xO as standard in all varients or restricted to top-end varient only.
    4. Is TGDI engine will be under low maintenance or on higher side. NVH level of petrol turbo 1.2 vs TGDI which is better
    5. After fixing leather seat cover in mid varients is there any obstacles in opening air bag during collision?
    6. Does ppf coating protect the paint from scratches ?
    7. As the vehicle is newly launched hence will there be adequate supply of vehicle spare parts as the dealer is too unable to answer this.
    * Kindly specify your reply on my queries prior planning to purchase the car *

    • @zigwheels

      1. We haven’t driven the base turbo. But basis our experience with the XUV300 - the engine has similar traits to the TGDI.
      2. That’s an option if you don’t mind aftermarket accessories. Otherwise, it’s best to choose between MX2/MX3 Pro.
      3. For around ₹10 lakh - the Brezza you get is very bare bones. If you don’t really prioritise features, pls consider. The fundamentals - engine, space, boot, comfort and are tangibly better than the Punch.
      4. You could book basis when you need the car. Mahindra usually does not prioritise production of lower spec models, so it might be wiser to check with dealerships wrt availability and then proceed with bookings.

      @zigwheels  Місяць тому +4

      As it stands, the MPFi and TGDi are locked to the variants themselves and if you choose the AX5L or higher, the TGDi is your only petrol option.
      We’ll put it this way, when we drove the original XUV300 petrol (mpfi, same engine offered with the 3XO’s AX5 and below) we never felt the need for more performance but Mahindra introduced the XUV300 Turbosport anyway (TGDi).
      The bonus with the TGDi is extra punch for overtakes and high speed driving but at low speeds their behaviour is similar (both have lag and could’ve been smoother). And standalone, the MPFi is potent enough.

    excellent review gents…as always. But if I may ask... considering the fact that temperatures are going up not only in the country but globally when and what would it take for you guys to compulsorily add to your review how well is the airconditioning performance of the vehicle??? Whether you take a hybrid, an EV or simple ICE (diesel or petrol) why not add this component; how the vehicle performs with good air-conditioning?? does it not form a part of reliability, durability or economy of any vehicle? Whats the point in buying any car with fantastic features; leg room, head space, panoramic roof, luggage space etc., if your going to sweat your butt inside that vehicle. Please Please factor this with any vehicle and see if it may be a deal breaker. Thanks

      Hey, we do include the AC performance as a variable (as we have in this video) when the conditions permit a reasonable test.
      For example, the first drive reviews being carried out right now are taking place during the blistering summer heat which tells us how the car fares. However, there are times where weather conditions prevent a fair judgement in which case an AC may perform great when it’s pleasant outside but fall short when the heat really picks up

    I am thinking about getting diesel AMT but until no one has yet reviewed on it.. request to please bring review about it as well, I want to get that ease for my dad who drives in harsh traffic everyday for 50kms and diesel with good fuel economy is good for me.. I know tgdi with torque converter is better but the fuel economy I believe if driven hard or extreme traffic conditions it won't give an fuel avg of more than 9 or 10 as that tgdi motor is sourced from Thar.. so we can't expect better fuel economy.. to be honest I am a great fan of Mahindra engines those are aimed for performance and that's what I like.

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  Місяць тому

      Interesting question! Thus far, all 3 have managed to deliver equally competent ADAS.
      We’d have to run a controlled test to determine who performs best but even then, it wouldn’t paint a complete enough picture about what you’d experience in the real world, just because of how unpredictable our roads still are.
      In Hyundai/Kia’s systems, the more affordable cars (Creta, Seltos, Sonet, Verna, Venue) feel more India-friendly than the setup you’d experience in the Ioniq 5 or EV6.
      But all of them do require some practice to get familiar with and should still be treated literally as what they are - assistance systems, especially because they can’t take some decisions that would come naturally to Indian drivers.
