1 point most people overlook is the DPF situation… Tata Nexon uses a DPF+ LNT versus Mahindra used DPF+Adblue dosing system…. I think Mahindra system is much more reliable over the life of the equipment with less hassle…. Technology wise Mahindra goes much forward….
Ya, it seems the 3xo has some system whereby u jus park the car somewhere safe, nd it will run the engine at a set pace to clean up. Dunno much abt it but the sales person replied when I asked him about sulphur problems. I won't be using the car that much but jus loved the performance of the diesel.

I think 3XO looks better.. I'm kinda bored of tata's design now. From punch to safari every car looks same. On the other hand 3XO has a very unique agressive look. The front and the rear looks are really cool.

Petrol engines are too silent. You can't feel connected with the car. There are no vibrations to feel connected with the car. How many times I have seen drivers pressing the throttle like crazy on speed brakers thinking the car will move, but in reality their car is in neutral or they are still holding the clutch enough to not let it move, but how would they realize their mistake when they can't even hear the engine from inside?
I own NEXON DIESEL PURE MANUAL.(March 2024 purchase). Honestly, I did a lot of research in this segment. Safety and Diesel engine were my priority. So Brezza, Venue and Sonet were out ! Also,You can't seat 3 people in the backseat of venue and sonet, you can try it yourself. There is compromised leg space and underthigh support as well. I was left with XUV300 and Nexon. I have driven XUV300 so many times, but for its earlier avtar, only its diesel engine was the positive point. Except its top model, its all other models have no road presence, they look like a hatchbak from the front. XUV300 for some reasons, doesn't look like a SUV(tall)... If you ignore on paper dimensions, for visual appeal , I think Nexon (right from base model) 'looks' tallest in the segment. Also, you can hardly differentiate Nexon's base and top model from front and rear. In addition, I liked Nexon's road presence more than 300's. Coming to nexon diesel engine, its powerful, its agile, its super fuel efficient, and with that sports mode, it becomes a rocket...! So in terms of features, looks, space, road presence, engine, fuel efficiency, driving dynamics, Nexon is the best pick (even after this belated XUV3XO facelift) over any other car in the segment. (For TATA haters - My nearest TATA service centre offers great service and customer support.) Thank you...!!!
@@DrDharmeshChaniyara Hello Mr Dharmesh. I own diesel manual, cant say anything about AMT. My diesel manual is giving me 21+ kmpl on highways, and 18 kmpl in cities. (I live in tier 3 city, consider traffic accordingly) . The AMT is expensive by 70,000 than the Manual. I would suggest you , if you are young and your city traffic allows you, then plz go with manual. Its the best choice. I got manual, because I love manual. I only needed manual because of sheer joy of driving the car. Manual makes you feel having complete control on your car, makes overtaking at high speeds easier and gives 2-4 kmpl more fuel efficiency than the AMT. Driving a manual Vs AMT is like flying a plane all by yourself Vs flying a plane on Autopilot. If you still want to go with AMT , then keep in mind that AMT does not mean an Automatic. Its a (Automated 'Manual' Transmission). Technically its a manual only, just instead of you shifting the gears , the computer is shifting the gears for you, so it comes with lots of jerks and not a smooth gear shifting experience as you get in torqe converters, CVTs, DCTs etc. At least take a test drive (at least drive 10 kms) before buying AMT. And MOST IMPORTANT, do thorugh PDI of your nexon, as its a TATA, you get lots of panel gaps and Technical glitches. Do a through PDI, of your car standing in stockyard. After doing PDI and selecting the model, note down or take photo of the chasis number (VIN number) of that model and make sure the same model with same VIN number is finally delivered to you. According to me xuv looks amazing from the back but from the front it looks - for the lack of a better word unfinished and desperate on the other hand nexon looks very mature in its design langauge - simple yet a perfect blend of futuristic and stylish.
Great product from Mahindra and will definitely be a good competitor to Nexon and others in the segment. But Cutting down on practical features like ventilated seats might hurt sales as ventilated seats are a becoming a popular comfort feature especially for daily office goers!
How is the driving dynamics of the 3xo when compared to the Taigun ? On par? I feel the VAG twins drive better. The 3xO and the 1 litre Taigun/Kushaq can be compared. I hope you do a comparison on them too.
3XO looks awesome to me... Others are just shrinking the lights into a line or a dot with LED... Headlights should be a proper component of the face afterall they are the eyes ... It makes the aesthetic 😊
Yes you are correct with respect to designers who designed it... But sales team had messed up with just a black cover for fog lights area making it look very unfinished... Except for top variants this fog lamp is only extra addition... And they should have given more glass components (which even basic cars have) in that area than plain black cover...
I would expect few more things in review. 1. Both should have been MT. And their 0-100 figures. 2. Fuel economy at 80 kmph in 6th gear on atleast 80 km expressway drive, tankful to tankful.

Seats are smaller? Wha.?? Just take a screenshot of you sitting in the mahindra and then of you sitting in the tata. The camera angles are the same. You should easily be able to spot the smaller seats!

From the front and rear nexon looks like a concept car but from the side it looks old because tata has facelifted nexon and the body structure is same and one more thing about tata cars is from inside the visibility is not really good specially from the rear seat because of their concept car like design. Tata punch owner here really happy with my car.

The Upcoming ScorpioX (pik up) should come with 185 - 210 bhp and 480 - 520 Nm of torque, this is just my personal opinion what you guys think? Can Mahindra's 2.2 Mhawk produce this amount of power? I’m sure it can be pushed to 190bhp and 450Nm. It needs the torque more than the power to be able to lug all the loads a pick up will be put through especially in global markets
@@evoIndia That notch on the cladding is to maintain the boxy design aesthetic.. without that the circular cladding wouldn't go well with it... Look at the Thar's back rear cladding for example
3XO front looks like 🤮. Old front looked much better. Should've done only back part. Also boot space issue should've been resolved as both cars are almost same size. For me, ADAS, sunroof are secondary features. Engine wise I will always prefer Mahindra. Suspension wise Nexon proves much better value. Infotainment looks more premium in Nexon top variants if you compare.
india is not ready for futuristic design like 3X0. Infact, indians has a bad taste for car liking like a nexon car with unrefined engine and sloping roof like a coupe but its a compact suv😂
Powerful petrol engine (130 BHP) not given in the lower variant of the 3XO. The luxury version of the Mahindra looks good but it will be a big hassle to keep them clean. Secondly the sunroof is really unnecessary edition to any car especially in India. We have filthy hot weather and dust all around us. It would be better if car manufacturers give the Indian customers Moonroof, it would much much better.
TBH Indian buyers are very adaptable. Plus If something different is there in their purchase , they will flaunt it to their peers. IMO Also, A moonroof is clearly better than a sunroof and much cheaper to produce.
Shirish nobody is interested in diesel 3xO , after seeing very low milage in turbo petrol mojority don't want to see any petrol review or drive . Instead diesel makes more sense in 3xO .
Fun fact :- the most affordable GDI turbo petrol engine in india is offered with the Citroen C3 turbo....... By the way amazing review, you tell about the flaws or misses of a product really well which others miss out on, I wish you got the manual to drive, then we would have got to know the about tractibility of the engine.......
The front fascia styling of the 3XO seems to be inspired from the dakar going Pajero Evolution/L200/Pajerosport...? Pajerosport was sold in India. You might still see some plying on the roads.
I am following Shirish since Overdrive Magazine days when office was in Wakadewadi Pune. Not missing single Video. Great to see a person who is having great knowledge about machines and attachment for machines. I am having Baleno with DDiS machine. I know the minus points of Maruti but loving Diesel and never get disappointed with Diesel machine. Shirish you need to discuss with all Manufacturer in India to keep Diesel alive. Thanks once again for sharing knowledge with India about machines.
I test drove the 3xo diesel nd petrol automatic. Frankly, i had a smile planted on my face throughout the drive in the diesel amt. It was tooo much fun. There was a slight lag in shift times on amt as well as tc on petrol. I didn't find the amt to be inferior to the tc, maybe it was the 300nm torque. Also, the petrol was jus tooo plush, as if it had noise cancellation. Couldnt hear anything from the outside.
3X0 will surely be more intimidating than Nexon shooting beams at night in your rear view mirror. Although Nexon looks more elegant, the 3X0 is not too far, in my opinion.
Come on i think the reviewers are being a bit hard on 3X0 design, got a chance to see it and test drive it and looks much better in person. i personally don't like the Nexon design language and ofcourse people who own and visited a tata will know about their service.

Both the diesels here are very reliable. Refinement is also same but NVH is better on 3XO

From the front and rear nexon looks like a concept car but from the side it looks old because tata has facelifted nexon and the body structure is same and one more thing about tata cars is from inside the visibility is not really good specially from the rear seat because of their concept car like design.

A difference would be there but we haven't driven the 16-inch wheel variant yet to compare the two.

I’m sure it can be pushed to 190bhp and 450Nm. It needs the torque more than the power to be able to lug all the loads a pick up will be put through especially in global markets

That notch on the cladding is to maintain the boxy design aesthetic.. without that the circular cladding wouldn't go well with it... Look at the Thar's back rear cladding for example
3XO front looks like 🤮. Old front looked much better. Should've done only back part.
Also boot space issue should've been resolved as both cars are almost same size.
For me, ADAS, sunroof are secondary features. Engine wise I will always prefer Mahindra. Suspension wise Nexon proves much better value. Infotainment looks more premium in Nexon top variants if you compare.
Suspension of 3XO is one of its big strengths
india is not ready for futuristic design like 3X0.
Infact, indians has a bad taste for car liking like a nexon car with unrefined engine and sloping roof like a coupe but its a compact suv😂

Powerful petrol engine (130 BHP) not given in the lower variant of the 3XO.
The luxury version of the Mahindra looks good but it will be a big hassle to keep them clean.
Secondly the sunroof is really unnecessary edition to any car especially in India. We have filthy hot weather and dust all around us. It would be better if car manufacturers give the Indian customers Moonroof, it would much much better.

Shirish nobody is interested in diesel 3xO , after seeing very low milage in turbo petrol mojority don't want to see any petrol review or drive .
Instead diesel makes more sense in 3xO .
Fun fact :- the most affordable GDI turbo petrol engine in india is offered with the Citroen C3 turbo....... By the way amazing review, you tell about the flaws or misses of a product really well which others miss out on, I wish you got the manual to drive, then we would have got to know the about tractibility of the engine.......

The front fascia styling of the 3XO seems to be inspired from the dakar going Pajero Evolution/L200/Pajerosport...? Pajerosport was sold in India. You might still see some plying on the roads.

I am following Shirish since Overdrive Magazine days when office was in Wakadewadi Pune. Not missing single Video. Great to see a person who is having great knowledge about machines and attachment for machines. I am having Baleno with DDiS machine. I know the minus points of Maruti but loving Diesel and never get disappointed with Diesel machine. Shirish you need to discuss with all Manufacturer in India to keep Diesel alive. Thanks once again for sharing knowledge with India about machines.

I test drove the 3xo diesel nd petrol automatic. Frankly, i had a smile planted on my face throughout the drive in the diesel amt. It was tooo much fun. There was a slight lag in shift times on amt as well as tc on petrol. I didn't find the amt to be inferior to the tc, maybe it was the 300nm torque. Also, the petrol was jus tooo plush, as if it had noise cancellation. Couldnt hear anything from the outside.
3X0 will surely be more intimidating than Nexon shooting beams at night in your rear view mirror. Although Nexon looks more elegant, the 3X0 is not too far, in my opinion.

Come on i think the reviewers are being a bit hard on 3X0 design, got a chance to see it and test drive it and looks much better in person. i personally don't like the Nexon design language and ofcourse people who own and visited a tata will know about their service.
