    Back in the 70s, I put a 390 tri-power in a 57 ford sedan with 3sp overdrive. Engine was from 61 Galaxy Conv 3sp. It was tired but had fun cruising HiWays. Got 19mpg on highway. I had extra gas tank in trunk and ran none stop st louis to Ft Benning Ga. Tri power was out of 61 tbird. Carbs do not like to be set for long time. Cork gaskets and power valves dry up and give MAJOR heart aches. Looking forward to your videos. thks.

    That 428 sounds awesome, I have a 64 Galaxie with a 428 in it as well but it's on the back burner right now. I am going to build an engine run stand for a 68 289 that I just built, and I am wandering where you got that starter mounting plate? I like that option better that using a bell housing to mount the starter. One more thing I have to say is I am 62 years old and I love seeing younger guys like yourself having an interest in these older cars, that will keep our hobby alive. THANK YOU!

      Thanks Gary! I got the plate from eBay. If you type in engine starter plate it will pop up. They have them for all type of engines. A tip would be to leave it in the metal finish to get a good ground on the starter

      @dougjustdoug6391 7 місяців тому

      @@halseyknox The remark was because the FE series engines oil the top end first and if the engine builder didn't take the extra steps of chamfering the oil return holes and drilling out and screwing restrictors in the oil feed passages bad things could happen. While this is a concern for oil starvation at the top end or during spirited driving, first engine starts are always a critical time. BTW, I love FEs.

      There’s an engine start plate that someone makes on eBay. If you type in engine starter motor plate Ford FE it will come up. The cam was a custom grind by Oregon cam grinding I have a video on the camshaft check it out!

    Your Tri Power will look sweet thou I’m not sure your gonna notice any performance improvement over an Edelbrock 800 cfm?

      @OmarRamirezGalaxie  Рік тому

      Yes, I’m sure a single 4 barrel will do better than the 3x2 but I think it’s a lot cooler!

      @@OmarRamirezGalaxie BTW, do you know the cfm flow numbers on each carb on the 3x2?

    • @OmarRamirezGalaxie
      @OmarRamirezGalaxie  Рік тому

      I believe it’s 320cfm on the primary and 350cfm

    • @kimmorrison9169
      @kimmorrison9169 Рік тому

      @@OmarRamirezGalaxie thats 1020 total cfm. Better than the old Chev/Pontiac tri-power but lower than Mopars 1350 cfm on 340/440 six packs. They run a 350 in the center and 2x500 cfm’s on the inner and outer carbs. Good luck with it Omar. Your certainly workin hard and spendin 💰.
