I have been studying these LED grow lights for a couple years now and this California Lightworks Solar Xtreme and the UVB add on's for flowering seems to keep coming in at the top of the list... I will try one!
It’s 399$ plus u can get discounts that take it to 300-349. My ladies love it I’ve got a 5 by 5. Bought the uvb for another 100$. Going to get another one. For my 5 by 5. Very impressed. No burning and unbelievable growth.
Looks like Im late to the party. Im shopping for 2 LEDs, on a budget so buying 1 at a time. Looking for optimal 5x5 coverage with no tent. Ive decided on this light, electric sky 300, or a timber. What is your opinion on this light, which will be 20% off black friday
@Epic Gardening, this is the first time I've watched one if your video's. Wow, great job of an open box and details of why this is or isn't worth the money. Plus, good look on the discount code. As a beginner, I still need to read some more but this was a start. I hope you complete this series from start to finish. I love the fact that the garden community is embracing the cannabis/hemp enthusiasts. Great video. I can't wait to see your playlists.
I love the trend I've seen in the last few weeks of gardening channels opening up about cannabis/hemp growing! It's refreshing to realize that tons of people who love gardening also love cannabis and hemp. That light looks great, and I know this is a chip on board light, but there's way more bang for your buck out there in terms of cob lights. Especially if you can figure out how to to build it yourself. A friend helped me with mine and it cost under $300. For something good to go straight out of the box, it's a decent price
Yeah, I would definitely agree if you want to learn to build your own light then it's possible to save money. And hemp in general is a fascinating plant, so even from the pure gardening perspective it is quite interesting to grow!
Hey Kevin, how did this grow turn out for you? Now that it's becoming more widely accepted/legal, I would love seeing you explore the realm of hemp growing more (specifically organic), You would help out a lot of novice growers :) I really dig your content!
Why?? Just because someone said they think it's a good buy in a video? Where all that was showed were specs you can get from the website, a setup, and a code to part you from your money. There was no research, test comparison to other options on the market or a test grow. The vast majority of people can't drop $700+ on a light, even with a code! Note that the light and tent was sent to the channel free of charge; you'll have to fork over hard earned cash for the light.
Just wait until you get a problem with the light clw are a nightmare customer service is really bad and they still haven't sorted my faulty lights out after 8 months stay away
Hello, I just purchased this light and have seen some things that others are mentioning like you said about problems... I don't know what a CLW issue is that you're referring to, so could you please elaborate a little more and give us an update on what they're doing to fix the issue please? Thank you for your time ✌️
$450 bucks? For that? LOL.. For that kind of money I would expect a whole lot more than some tiny thing hovering a foot from my plants. The light I have now you could tan under in a grow tent 6ft x 6ft and it was $500. Just make sure they use Cree LEDS or COBs, a good driver like mean well and good fans. The biggest failure with lights is the maker goes cheap on the cooling fans and they toast. then the LED pop. Or they use a cheap driver that can't handle moisture and it flambes itself. I'm not even sure if those COBs in that Lightworks light are made for horticulture.. i didn't see them on the Cree list for growing.
How can you give a review of something when you are pulling it out of a box and haven’t used it..... Maybe two seasons in you can give a review otherwise obviously shilling for the man.
It’s unfortunate so many gardeners will oversee the joy of the challenge of growing Cannabis. Just simply because they were born in a society where it was decided to be made illegal. Because everyone knows every law is set in stone and always correct, right?! Fact is, this plant is part of the hop family or Cannabaceae, just like your peppers are Solanaceae and your Broccoli are Brassicaceae. It’s all divergently evolving plant life with different adaptations and purposes for humans. But hey, it’s their loss. I still feel bad for them, genuinely. Fortunately, their grandkids will be born in a world where it’s accepted.
Except our grandkids will all be potheads and whine whenever they can't have it just for an excuse to get high. Cannabis has many health benefits in other forms but smoking it simply for idiots to get high should definitely not be why it should be legalized "recreationally" it is a legit plant that should be used for medicinal purposes only.
6 years and you've never been happy enough with any one of your yields to actual pay $50-$100 for a double assay, proving any lights true worth. CL checked off the potential list, thanks!! Thanks for wasting everyone's time 🥱
California Lightworks has offered 15% off the SolarXtreme 500 with the code "EG15" - bit.ly/2mmKYcN - happy growing!
When they get that up to 60% let me know. Then it will be a reasonable cost for what it is and does.
@@mikehunt8683 the 500w solarxtreme doesn't even come cloes to a 600w hps perf wise.... you'd need 2 of them, this companies Cob's are a legit scam.

Looking forward to following your progress. At some point I’d like to try and grow hemp. The challenge alone, will be fun and interesting.
Definitely join in!

sorry i'm new to this so please forgive my newbie question... how's the energy consumption of this light compared to a T5?
Drastically more

Been wondering about this light for a minute!
Wonder no more!
Go for the so called knock offs instead. Can't go wrong with quality products from Samsung, mean well and cree. Way more bang for the buck...
Thanks for the info mate, i was looking at vipraspectra but i will spend the extra coin and get 1 of these instead.

Kenneth Elston this light is only 450 still expensive as fuck but not 750 at least
Why would one need such a powerful light for one plant container?
When this is all grown in, pruned and trained, it will take up most of this 2x4' space!
Thank you for your answer.

I prefer the Chinese knock-off cobs/quantum boards anytime. Cxb3590 + Mean Well or Samsung lm301h + Mean Well will most likely crush this one...
Wow way out of my price range...
"hemp", yea definitely *wink wink
Legally hemp if there is less than 0.3% THC by weight!
@Bob Ross Then theirs no point... hahahaha ;)
Ridiculous. Unsubscribing.
Sorry to see you go
What is wrong with hemp.
Ridiculous that you need to tell us. We are in 2019.
