Today we have a request and it is to put the Daedalus From Stargate SG1 against the Venator from Star Wars.
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Kobayhasimaru.

"look! I can launch F302 fighters!"
and then immediately, the Venator launches its 420 fighters
Asgard plasma beam weapons are crazy powerful. If the mod was more lore accurate, the Venator would have been gone after like two hits. Regardless, great video.
So I'm not going crazy, I thought it had beam weapons.
Asgard beam weapons are crazy powerful _against Stargate ships._
Star Wars firepower is several orders of magnitude above Stargate, and the fact that a Wraith hive ship with a ZPM (a power source objectively less powerful than hypermatter) can no-sell Asgard beams demonstrates they're not that powerful.
This isn't even getting into the fact that in a meta sense, Stargate weaponry is written stupidly. They either annihilate the enemy in a single shot or do absolutely nothing at all and never will. Asgard beams and Tollan ion cannons being the two most infamous examples.
@@zephyr8072 Yeah, not buying it. You are overstating the power of SW weapons (just like all SW fanboys do, even though onscreen portrayals of them show they aren’t shit) and lowballing the power rating of one the most technologically powerful and accomplished factions in the SG franchise.
Lore accurate SW power scaling is a joke.

Stargate's writers did that when they had a pathetic Wraith hive ship made out of gooey resin crewed by a species so incredibly stupid they make the Kazon from Star Trek look intelligent and dignified be _completely 100% immune_ to them just because they had a ZPM.
The only fanboy here is you, because you can't accept it when someone says one level of fictional technology is written as more powerful than another. It is what it is.

All the franchises are cool in their own way, but yeah if what is said about SW weapons was depicted in the movies ....there would be no rebellion left, but SW is not the only one with continuity issues, remember the Breen bombarding starfleet HQ in DS9 yet there was only minor damage? All these shows & movies are full of inconsistency, often because of budget & different writes taking over, arguing whos imaginary ship would win with stats some overworked writer made up, is funny😂
The Asgard shields on the Daedalus are powerfully enough to withstand a mass coronal ejection from a star for several hours. The weapons systems on the venator don’t hold a candle to the full force of a star.
They used a zpm for that.
this scales so differently... Wraith hive ships have as much firepower as a star destroyer. without a zpm the Daedalus can tank a single hive ship for a bit... With a ZPM... the deathstars megalaser couldn't penetrate its shields (the thing tanks a point blank solor ejection which would destroy a planet.)
now, nukes in starwars are deadly on their own, but the Daedalus carries naquadria enhanced nukes. they are rated at "dial-able" between 200 and 2000 gigaton yield, on a surface vaporizing everything within 100 miles. (this about the hitting force of... the death star laser on on 1 capacitor. IE the shots in rogue one.)
And then of course the beaming trick they can just beam a warhead inside... or near the target so for example, when it starts launching fighters they beam the nuke into the hanger and...
Well wraith hive ships are between 3 and 11km long and a single mark 9 vaporizes them.
Hell yeah those Asgard beams are pretty much deadly to almost any ship. Except for towards Ori ships...
I think this is probably an accurate battle. I'd expect the Asgard beam weapon to cut through a Stardestroyer like swiss cheese.
Although with the right tactics a Stardestroyer could destroy a Daedalus class ship. That's cool you were able to launch F-302's but not a Puddle Jumper.
I wish Joe Flannigan (John Sheppard) had been able to save Stargate Atlantis. I miss that show... I wonder if Jason Momoa would have returned as Ronon.
They even kill Ori ships

@@TrentonBennett Ah, I see you are referring to the nukes. Yes Ori ships are stupidly powerful and their beam weapons are on par, at least how I've observed, with the beam weapons of the Venator from Episode III.
All these star wars mods are way OP. The Millennium Falcon would have taken out the Daedalus. Its the ship that ate advanced quantums while unshielded.
iirc, the BC-304 is just over 200m long, the Venator is like, 1.1km or something. The ancient battleships were around 3km long.
Always hard to (accurately) represent firepower of different IPs together, especially in a game which is limited by the fact that its meant to be fun first, not accurate.
Asgard shields on the BC-304, powered by a ZPM, was capable of surviving a Coronal Mass Ejection, for example, and yet the same shields would collapse against concentrated fire from, say, Asgard or Wraith weapons.
What? The deadalus (including the sensor arrays) is just over 700m long.
@@nihilityjoey According to the Wiki and from what was said on screen, the Daedalus Class is actually only 200m long. Now yes there was an analysis by Fleetyards that put the Daedalus Class at a larger size of 700m but according to the official lore, it's only 200m long.

Technically this is a carrier versus carrier fight since The Venator is a carrier. At some point someone has to make a mod that allows The Venator to launch her fighters based on the era..ARC-170's for The Clone Wars or Tie fighters from the early Galactic Empire era.
The Dedelus is formidable even without the Asgard plasma beams. Which I will make note that yes while those beams are powerful, The Ori warships do not have armor, in which Star Wars vessels have that in abundance. Armor that is designed to take hits from plasma beam weapons being that is the core weaponry of that franchise. But I digress.
To beat The Venator you can either knock down the shields and beam aboard a nuke. Or you can Target the traditional Imperial vessel weak spot. The bridge!
In reverse The Venator, if I recall correctly, should possess the same ability that her successors have. The ability to concentrate all of her guns in one vector for a sustained barrage. Pretty much a plasma typhoon!
With that in mind while her weapons do not have the range from other franchises, hanging in there under that sustained barrage long enough to take her down is rather problematic.
Maneuverability seemed to be the important thing when going against powerful ships. If you have the time to kill, you can use a shuttle to kill a Warbird, even with its beasty hull rating in that game.
I know it will be nearly impossible for the game to model this, but the railguns should have bypassed Star Wars shields. I've heard in other lore sources that turbo laser technology is so overwhelmingly common and accepted, that they completely ignore physical projectiles, like the rounds from a railgun and nuclear missiles. The result is that they focus on ray shields, which will block incoming energy weapons fire, like a Star Trek phaser, but wouldn't do anything to something like a Halo MAC round. Blocking physical projectiles is the job of the particle shields, which are typically ignored, as most ships like a Venetor are going to be expecting most of the fighting to be either dogfights between starfighters and other strike craft or gunnery duals using turbo lasers and would then ignore the particle shield systems until there were things like concussion missiles.
Once again, before I watch...
Without the Asgard beam weapons, I think the earth ship is at a disadvantage... aside from the Asgard shields.
Edit: Yes, I'm still assuming that superfans overpowered turbolasers.

Daedalus also had the option to beam a nuke into a ship's insides and was later on fitted with Asgard beam weapons which are pretty powerful.

I seem to remember one where the enterprise D went up against some kind of imperial cruiser. The enterprise looked like a mosquito compared to the imperial ship but mopped the floor with them.
The end result doesn't really surprise me but it was awesome to watch! The Daedalus isn't really a power house in terms of firepower or technology and it quite often gets its ass beat before it gets upgraded weapons. Still, very fun watch!
I seriously doubt there are any regular shipboard SW weapons that would readily penetrate Asgard shields. C’mon, you got to get the lore at least a little right.

Star Wars vs. anything is impossible to judge as most of the "hard numbers" come from fanon sources like the ICS books. People have come up with crazy firepower numbers based on an ISD blowing up asteroids in Empire but the weapons seem to be crazy inconsistent damage wise, just like Star Trek weapons. If they really put out the speculated-upon levels of power starfighters and even starships would explode into a cloud of plasma the second they were hit when unshielded, and this just doesn't happen in the various movies.

Finally a balancing setup that isn't entirely ridiculous, though "realistically" the Daedalus would be disintegrated in a couple of volleys.

This is a comical mismatch. The Daedalus is 200m long. A Venator is something like 1000m. The tonnage difference is similarly huge. Daedalus basically cannot win without he Asgard beam weapons. The railguns and F-302 wing are only useful against the Venator's fighter wings. Neither can crack SW capital ship shields.

If you are referring to that blue-ish beam that one Venator was firing in Revenge of The Sith, that was an SPHA (Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery) Walker that was put in the hanger bay. If I remember correctly, it was Anakin Skywalker who came up with the idea.

@@Nicolas_Cage_Bees no the Venator never had a superlaser. there have been other superlaser equipped ships, such as the eclipse class, which is absolutely massive, but its super laser was weaker than the death star one.I think there was also a scaled down much weaker superlaser prototype put on a victory class, and there was an ISD with one called the Conqueror.

I have not watched this yet. I will after. If the dadulus don't 1 shot this ship then the venator is over powered. Venators have very,very,very,very poor durability.
Stargate is better than starwars or at least i enjoyed it more but then again stargate doesnt have all that new baggage either
