Hey man. I'm the guy from the forum who told you I'm going to play it and convert it to 3D. I still am, I've just been busy and got all these projects I'm working on and juggling. I played it way back when we interacted and I loved it. I've tried the origianl X-Wing with the VR mod and it's so over-complicated that I feel like I have to take a college course just to make it work properly and configure the HOTAS correctly, and then the game itself is highly complicated with so many things that you kind of want automated taking up it's own seperate command. Sims aren't really my thing, but in VR I like them for their immersion as long as they aren't too complicated and I find the original X-wing series a little obtuse, which is a shame because if I knew how to play them, I'm sure I'd have a blast with them.
Yours is a really good balance in my opinion. It's more of a sim than the rogue squadron series, but more arcadey and quick pick up and play for fun dogfights than the original X-wing vs Tie fighter series. At least, that's my general impression from about 20 minutes of playing around with it.
When I record it and convert it to 3D, I'll do one of the flat version, and one in VR, which I haven't tried yet, but again, just been busy, but I'm looking forward to trying it out in VR. Keep up the good work on it!

I actually would like to bring in a bit more of a simulation feel somehow, but not at the expense of pacing! I played the heck out of X-Wing for Macintosh (1994) and even though I loved that game, it was frustrating having to wait long periods of time twiddling my thumbs while lasers and shields recharged at a glacial pace. I'd often dump all engine power into recharging lasers/shields a bit faster and then have to dodge enemy fire with all the nimbleness of a tugboat while I waited. That said, I would like X-Wing Revival to eventually have some kind of nod to that power redirection system (Squadrons did a decent job of this) and someday implement more detailed damage modeling too.
Put 'tie fighter attack extended' overlay to this and it'll be epic. Nice gameplay overall I miss the classics.
TIE Fighter Attack is one of the in-game music tracks, but I mute the music when recording so UA-cam will allow embedding the video and not put ads on it.
@Raptor007 ah ok, though I thought you're monetized when they put ads on your videos. That not always the case?

To my understanding, UA-cam puts ads on everything. Being monetized just means you can actually get some of the money from ads.
It's really bullcrap. UA-cam will put ads everywhere, but to actually profit, you have to "play ball" by youtube guidelines. If a big channel has a video that gets flagged and demonotized, it doesn't mean ads stop playing for that video...what it means is that youtuber doesn't to get any of the money from that demonetized video. This is my understanding to the best of my knowledge.
