I think there were lots of SG1 episodes where they were fighting to keep control of a ship that is infested by replicators.
Indeed! I still have nightmares of the giant spider on that one ship. What surprised me in this video was that it was programmed into Bridge Commander, had no idea! 🖖

These replicators were not created by the ancients but instead by an android who viewed them as pets as I recall. The ones created by the Ancients were in the Pegasus galaxy. The way this battle would have actually gone down is that a projectile of replicators would have gone right through the shields, punched through the hull and the ship would have been assimilated and enhanced by the replicators shortly afterward (crew eliminated).
The Lanteans that created the Asurans eventually made their way back to the Milky Way. I could see one of them Janus trying again but this time with a less advanced Human-form Replicator. Reese said that the other inhabitants of the planet didn't like her. Which would make sense as the Lanteans saw the Asurans as a failure because they didn't turn out to be the good little warbots they wanted to fight the Wraith.
Yes, that is exactly how they operate. The replicators is what the borg were meant to be

Never multivector when collisions are on! It's almost as effective of a tactic as cloaking when directly in front of the enemy.
😨Oh my.. the Replicators.. gosh.. yesterday watched a few of the shows and gosh they are insane. eeh.. They are like the Borg but worst. gosh imagine Borg against them.. oh my I would warp out like Lower Decks did.. eeh. 😳what in the name of Thor was that.. gosh.. firing on you.. this is crazy.. wow.. Love how you use Dr. T'Ana, yes she swears all the time gosh.. Oh gosh Admiral.. the Replicators are wicked and powerful.. now I know why in the show, even Thor's race was almost destroyed by them, and O'Neil got info from the Ancients to make a weapon, .this was crazy. and the Multi Vector kaboom, eeh. why does it do that. gosh. and the Saucer firing on you , a '' bug', got into the computer oh gosh.. eeh.. loved this!! 😊🖖
I always likened the Replicators to the Borg in a lot of ways.
except the replicators were far far far more scary...

For a replicator to replicate it needs several blocks working together.
The Ancients created the Asurans, Reece created the Milky Way version.
The Replicator weapons are composed with Replicator blocks so the Saucer was overrun by Replicators
The implication/retcon was that the Ancients created Reece.

@@zephyr8072 there very much isnt, in canon at least. Also the 2 sets of Replicators are completely different: The Ancient’s built the Asurans as weapons, Reese built the replicators as toys who then made human form but not as a weapon. Sorry but no Ancient connection to Reese
What would be really cool and lore accurate is if the replicator ship had a torpedo that if it hits corrupts the ship and damages random systems as replicators start to disable the ship from within (the randomness is dependent on the capability of the crew onboard).

That was before the revelation of human Replicators who can apparently pull new blocks out of their butts.
Brings to mind an interesting question... Who would win in a fight between the borg and the replicators? I fully believe that the bug-version of replicators, which i believe were created in the milky way... Would lose that fight. they might consume the borg tech, but they don't have a sophisticated intelligence until the human-form replicators come along. Once the human forms come along, they act similarly to the borg but retaining some sense of individuality. I think that would be an interesting matchup/debate.
The friendly fire could have been a bug. Or it could have been Replicators boarding the ship and starting to take it over (their favorite tactic in universe).
I think in sg1, the Replicators main weapon was a dart of Replicator blocks to peirce the hull and infest the ship.
The only problem is when the replicators go off line everyone has to eat Neelix’s cooking. 😉

In SG1 there was a planet where someone made an Android and the Android may toys for itself which were replicators and in Stargate Atlantis the ancients in their war with the wraith made nanites & then they formed into human replicators.

Replicators vs Borg
pulse weapons cause more damage because they compress more energy into each shot to when it hits shields or hull, the energy lashes out. Put them in a high fire rate and you have more damage than beam
Against a superior enemy always stick to a single shield face. Plus you have maneuverability over this target. You had them. Let their shields regenerate.

In universe, Replicators are immune to nearly all energy weapons (the Borg are chumps by comparison). Definitely focus on torpedoes and kinetic weapons.
1:49 Correction: The replicators in the Pegasus galaxy (Stargate Atlantis) were created by the Ancients, while the replicators and the subsequent ship seen in this video were made by an unknown civilization on an unknown planet. The result of that civ and planet was an android called Reese, who was like a kid in an adults body, and could make replicators, calling them toys. SG1 Episode "Menace"
Borg vs replicators
Stargate vessels always looked to me as having more powerful but at the same time less advanced shields in general (in general) and having less resistant hulls (if my memory serves me correctly, an Asgard Beliskner hull would be destroyed on reentry easily, despite being composed of naquadah and neutronium, while a federation vessel could probably survive a nuclear detonation on their bridge while a Cheops was destroyed by a regular atomic bomb on their Pel'Tak)
IIRC the Belisker’s hull was compromised with explosives during entry, that’s why it broke apart. It didn’t disintegrate either, with the various pieces landing in the ocean.
A Federation ship would in no way survive a nuclear weapon going off inside it, come on.

On the other hand, a Federation ship would and has survived and tolerated an uncontrolled re-entry into a planet's atmosphere.
EDIT: A regular nuclear weapon on a Federation bridge would likely cripple the ship, but not destroy it. Also it is known that at most only the Romulans used them, and for self-destruct near a critical system, during the 23rd century; and "such a warhead detonated point blank in front of a starship without shields raised, caused relatively light casualties as well as temporary electrical disruption".
EDIT 2: I am not talking about the naquadah-enhanced bombs, I'm talknig about the regular atomic bomb that destroyed Ra's Cheops.

yeah, first problem replicators are immune to energy weapons.
next replicators don't usually use energy weapons... instead they fire... "missiles". these ignore shields, impact into the hull then... spread replicator spiders over the hull which then work their way inside and start eating the ship, disabling and taking control of systems.
How about a battle of the unshielded, could you do the Wrath against something from Babylon 5?

It actually takes a minimum of 3 Replicator blocks working together to create more blocks. Not that that changes much here
RBG the Replicator can take over the ennemy ship because the replicator use the ship that they board to make more of themselves and get the tech its like the borg but they are only mechanical in universe at least , in the game they can switch any ship to their side even the Borg

Aren't there two different types of replicators? I thought only the pegesus replicators were made by the ancients. Didn't the ones the asgard encounter have a different origin?
The android Reese made them, BUT it's never specified who made her, so it COULD still be the ancients who are ultimately responsible, and fans think it might also be Janus himself

The saucer section, if you pay close attention to it, also switches from blue (friendly) to red (enemy) for a few seconds here and there. I think they were compromised by the Replicators!
