I want this game in a box.. like my UT99 copy. I really want No Mans Sky physical copy so bad. This game got me so addicted to it... just the gameplay i love. Pure sandbox with a lot of things to do and discover.
I really like the expressive vocabulary you bring to these types of videos and really dig deep into the game design due to your time spent on RLCraft. It's impressive how enthusiastic you are about the most minute details of the rendering engine as you see Pirate's Moon all the work the devs have put into a game that originally was panned by everyone. Good stuff mang.
07:02 if you pay close attention, you will notice that Sean tweeted 3 earth emojis each one showing one side of the real earth: first americas, then africa, and lastly asian. I think that means something. Sean calls planets worlds, and this is the update Part 1, so the whole 3 parts (assuming they will be 3 because of the number of emojis), they will all be focused on the planets, and since the first one already made water surface and sky amazing, the next one will probably be about the underwater and the third one maybe about the underground o.O
Its not for everyone... but i can tell you the game is amazing... so amazing that i have it installed into two different machines.. one for online play the other to have an offline world to relax alone.
One of my bases is now underground since the update but I didn’t mind as when I terraformed out the planet is now a gorgeous floating island fantasy planet so base be damned !!!
NMS is a puddle that spans the width of infinity. the systems don't interact with eachother very well. We have pirate raids on planetary settlements that not only do nothing to everything except you, but you also can't set up any form of anti-air defense against them so the only way to deal with them is either dig a hole and hide, hide in a building or base, or somehow get to your ship that might be who knows how far away, take off, and deal with them yourself. Companions do absolutely nothing except carry lazy players around over rough terrain and even then it's only one specific type of companion people use for that purpose... Settlements are useless resource sinks that rarely give you anything of value, the damage cap of wing mates is 0, and the special staff you have to grind 20+ hours to get from a new save is just an ordinary multitool like the one you started the game with. No amount of visual updating or added bling, which may I mention has been the primary focus of pretty much every update since Next with a rare few exceptions, will solve these issues and will most likely continue to add new systems that don't interact well with the rest of the game. For reference, my favorite updates are the ones where they address underlying systems and rework things for better integration like outlaws, the big sentinel update that came shortly before outlaws, and waypoint. I love HG, respect what they're doing with the game and have every plan to buy Light No Fire on day 1 but they really gotta work on synergy and making systems actually work together instead of focusing on fomo and cosmetics. If they don't they'll continue to see this massive churn rate where people only come back for the updates and then leave after 2 minutes of seeing that actually, nothing changed really. This game exemplifies the phrase "the journey is greater than the destination." If you play this like you would any other survival game and rush to godhood as quickly as possible, you'll get bored as soon as you get there because there's nothing to pit your newfound godhood against. There's no endgame and that's not a bad thing, just a thing that people should know before diving in.
