This is very useful. I have made about a dozen music videos, but having those annoying gaps between clips had ALWAYS been an issue. I am not a videographer by trade and have learned Final Cut just enough to be able to produce the videos. You have helped me solve it once and for all. We are premiering the one I JUST fixed--thanks to your tips--tonight, live on-air. Thanks for making my day--and a much better music video experience! 😀🙌🏾

@@BenjaminHalsall Hi Ben, is it possible to get a tutorial that illustrates how Compound clips can be spliced without actually cutting up the original clip (if I understand this properly)?
Thanks!
Most welcome!

You are most welcome!
Excellent, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice & Thanks :)
No problem!
What about voiceovers? Would you put that audio in main storyline or no? I find editing the audio can be a pain. Taking out the pauses, etc. Thanks!
If your audio is the main thing you are editing and then editing too then you can put it on the main storyline. You could also do one run through with audio on the main storyline to remove and refine and then pull it up to a connected storyline when you begin to add video or images.
I’m not at my mac but wondering how a compound clip might compare with a grouped clips setup.... (still feel like a newbie :)
Compound clips can be really useful but they do hide the edits. So if you use them on layers you would need to jump into a compound clip every time you needed to make small timing adjustments. Definitely advantages to using connected storylines and compound clips.
@@BenjaminHalsall Thanks Ben :) ... always enjoy and get value from your tutorials ...had you ever considered covering Apple Motion?
@@Roz-Inspire-Video Thank you Roz! I have done some Apple Motion tutorials and always plan to do more here and there when topics I'm able to cover pop up or when I get a good questions. Here is my Motion playlist - ua-cam.com/play/PLwmn8Iht2gSeJFlKFxP-K800qwekIdvvn.html - hope you find some useful ones there and do let me know if you ever have any questions.
@@BenjaminHalsall perfect thanks again Ben!
Thanx for tutorial. If u can add what shorcut keys have pressed on screen , could be better for non-English speaker.
Great point. I think I left them out of this one as I was trying to get someones question answered quickly. Which shortcut did you miss?
This software is awful, I’m completely fucked trying to solve some sort of problem like this now.
