Papaya seeds are great for treating parasites or stomach issues, eating a spoonful a day plus some raw garlic once a day will kill most stomach bugs. You can even dry the seeds and grind them into a "pepper" to use as seasoning.

its absolutely true! people with anemia can have tree leaf or it's skin! but you need to squeeze it and drain its juices, but no more than 1tbsp a week! it is also used to cure dengue fever, where in your blood platelets drop considerably (10k - 15k).

just got back from Florida and have a story of stupidity, I found a bunch of prickly pears on a walk and recognized them so being careful not to tuch the cactus I picked the fruit and "avoiding" the spines on the fruit I pulled it open and ate it. Well to not make it a longer story I ate a few and when I got back to the car I realized I was covered in almost invisible spines and became a human cactus.

Haha, that happened to me too. My husband was shaking his head at me the whole time but those fruit were too tempting to pass up! Prickly pears grow on trails in Alabama also, but from my experience, they seem to get larger in Florida.

I have seen some vids where papaya are topped so they only grow about 6-7 feet tall. Have you ever thought about topping your papaya this way? I would imagine that without all the extra plant mass the tree could put more energy into the fruit.

Great videos. I love that you have a pet turtle too. Have you ever weighed your harvests to see how much you get each year? I've been trying to do that but I can't seem to quantify what I pick. I harvest several times a week, but it's a few berries here, a few herbs there, foraged greens, etc. Stuff that barely weighs an ounce but certainly enhances a meal. I'd really like to be able to have some numbers so I can justify what I spend on the garden. Any ideas?

Low platelets. Papaya leaves are supposed to help boost your platelet production. I had hepatitis C, and got liver disease from it, was cured on the drug Harvoni, and my liver function returned to normal, and my platelets came up, but no where near normal, supposedly there's no medical way to raise your platelets, which make your blood clot when you cut yourself, have surgery, etc. I have heard that papaya leaves help you produce important blood clotting factors in platelets in your blood. I have never tried, because I don't know where to get papaya leaves, and ironically, I have heard that the seeds of the papaya are good for your liver, but not the platelets production in low platelet persons. Stay Free People!

    • @yeevita

Caleb Moore I dont get that many insects from my fruit trees, even when i had giant persimmons on huge trees and didnt pick everyday. However, I havent sprayed anywhere I have lived in many decades, since almost any human killing means I would have to kill constantly. That being said, if you do have say, a fly problem, just throw dirt on whatever the flies are attracted to - fallen fruit - throw a layer of dirt/dried stuff on it or gather it once a day and bury it.

Neem oil or a few drops of dish washing detergent per gallon of water works wonders whenever I deal with any bugs of diseases which is rare , if you properly water and feed regularly whether its soil drench or foliar feeding your plants become very resistant to diseases and bugs !!
