    John Tenta was a very nice and kind dude from the little bit of interaction I had with him. His son and I were on the same Baseball team for our school, and I got to know his son well. John Jr. would mention how his dad is Earthquake, would bring up stories of his dad wrestling and beating Hogan, some Japan stories, and stuff about his dad's career all throughout the Season. Earthquake would show up to a few of our games to watch his son play. (He was there for at least 3 games.)
    My father was also a mainstay at our games, and I saw plenty of times where the 2 of them would be talking for almost the whole game. None of it would be about wrestling or his job. It was strictly about family, life, the City we lived in, the coach, etc. What's the most ironic is my father hates Professional Wrestling, but had hours long conversations with a legend and he had no idea that John was who he was, nor that he was a professional wrestler. They simply talked as men and fathers. I can almost guarantee Earthquake enjoyed being able to just be himself and not be the focal point, let alone getting the chance to watch his Junior play sports with no interruptions and in peace.

    I love how, every wrestler whose asked, says how cool Shane McMahon is. Idk about everyone, but I almost immediately distrust kids of super wealthy parents. Soo many of em have an undeserved sense of entitlement and accomplishment, like theyre wealthy bc of their hard work and not their parents, but everyone asked says Shane is a down to Earth, humble normal guy.

    • @tjred3995
      @tjred3995 2 роки тому +3

      I believe Shane is a humble, cool guy because of the way his father forced Stephanie and him to work their way through the entire WWF organization: my understanding is that they both worked in every department of the company, including, of course, becoming trained in-ring performers. Of course, Shane then left the WWF and did some non-wrestling work on his own, too. Anyway, I get the sense that nothing has been handed to them.

    • @JackBarrett7
      @JackBarrett7 2 роки тому

      @@tjred3995 Absolutely a LOT has been handed to him. Idk about you but a lot more than has been handed to him than I, but I know a lot of those trust fund kids who have no sense of humility or humanity about them. I can respect a man more like Shane than say, Mike Graham who, altho a good amateur wrestler, never topped 225lbs and told stories of him 'scaring' Sid Vicious, which I know to be incorrect. A rich kid can go two ways: trying to be his father or trying to be one of the guys, n I respect Shane bc he will take the bumps rather than be like his father who never stepped in the ring until he was 50.

    • @timothygumenik726
      @timothygumenik726 Рік тому

      I hear what you saying about rich kids being spoiled and I agree. However, we have to be mindful of the fact Vince himself worked very hard to get where he is. He was born dirt poor and did poorly in school.

Also I don’t often ask ppl to take my money but if you were to have a patreon and do some extra or special stuff on there i would definitely pay and so would many others , I don’t mind paying for entertainment when it’s done well by good ppl. @@amishmafia2019 that was him lol. I met him when I was a freshman in high school and an older friend of mine was running shows here along the gulf coast. I got to be really close with him and his wife and if you spent ten minutes in a car with him and if the humor wasn’t used against you it was the funniest thing ever. He could be mean with it though. We were in Lucedale Mississippi one night and I laughed so hard I thought I broke something. He was on a roll. My brother had found this stuff at a Spencer’s called fart spray and this can of stuff that looked like a can of hair mousse from the 80’s but it sprayed out this brown foam that looked like shit. He was putting it everywhere. Then at one point he got on the microphone was using all these puns about how bad Mississippi stunk. Nobody in the locker room knew what was going on except it stunk and people kept finding little piles of shit. He was the best. He never once giggled or sold it. Then he went into the guy that promoted the show’s brand new RV and smoked it out completely. Blew smoke in the air vent just everywhere. He was hysterical IF he wasn’t picking on you personally. That’s why he hated Stevie and Stevie hated him. Stevie lived down here for a few months and they were like oil and water.
