Nice unit 👍. The one thing that I personally dislike about most of these shower devices, including the BougeRV portable unit that I have, are the plastic nipples/quick-connect fittings. I would much prefer some nice brass or stainless steel fittings. Only a matter of time (imo) before one gets inadvertantly snapped off. I use 2.5gal Scepter water containers, and the BougeRV unit will deplete one fairly quick. Bought a 5gal bucket at Lowes (w/lid) that will be solely used for dish cleaning or rinsing-off when needed. I'm always at established campgrounds (NP/COE), so plenty of water available.
Agreed, that’s the first thing I noticed and wonder how long it will be before I break them. I think it will be something nice to have on the longer camps.😊
@@adventureroamxAbsolutely a nice accessory to have on-hand. We had a 3-nighter planned for the upcoming week, and I've already cancelled it. I'm starting to believe the high temps & severe thunderstorm weather must have a copy of my calendar, and are plotting against me. That makes 5 trips I've cancelled due to extreme weather since 1 April. Gonna try again in late August.
@@retnav92 Might consider looking for a different shower head that has smaller holes to reduce the GPM of water during a shower, and get your water source to last longer.
One of these has been on my list for a while as well. I have the Yakima 10 gallon Road Shower mounted on my Super Duty so that would be plenty of water backup. Also, It’s funny you mention it… one of these has been on my list more for washing the dog than for myself..haha. Thanks for the video…. Send that thing to me and I’ll laser engrave your logo on the front 😂 Take care brother…
Although I fully understand the alure for an instant hot water system in a camping/overlanding environment, I just can't wrap my mind around all the hardware and hookups it takes to setup for a shower. Let alone how bulky the entire setup is. In my research and fiddling, I have come up with a farely simple setup that is compact and very very effective for a nice shower. Starting with the KickAss shower suite "deluxe" with the roof option, a full removable floor pan with comfortable mat to stand on, 2 gallon stainless Billy bucket, and KickAss shower pump, hose, head, and four 5vdc shower pump batteries. Each 5vdc battery is USB rechargable, and run the shower pump ~45 mins each. As for heating my water to ~106F from ~55F-60F water, I have several options. The Billy bucket can be heated in a fire, on a camp stove or my newest update, a 1000w electric water bucket heater. My experience with heating the water goes like this. On the fire: Maybe 15 -20 mins depending on the quality of the coal bed. On the campstove: With the wither my MSR Dragonfly or my Camp Chef Everest 2, roughly 7 mins to get to 106F. With the 1000w bucket water heater: Takes about 12 mins to reach my 106F and uses about 20-25% of my Delta 2 or Jackery 1000. I realize that chugging 25% of a power supply for one shower seems steep, however I have two EcoFlow Delta 2 units, and one Delta 2 Smart Extra battery (and a Jackery 1000). So, depending on my camping arrangement, I can adjust my available power depending on if I am rolling solo with just my truck or if I take my off road trailer. Also, depends on my duration of stay. The EcoFlow 800w alternator charger will zip that 25% power right back into the Delta 2 in about 30 mins. Or I setup 440w of solar if I am stationary for days. The beauty of my current shower setup is that I already have the EcoFlow units on board, as well as the KickAss shower suite. As for the remainder of the shower bits, the entire shower pump, hose, head and batteries a well as the 1000w bucket heater all fit inside the 2 gallon Billy bucket during storage. The KickAss shower floor pan folds in half, and then rolls up tight and into a bag that stows away out of sight. Oh, and 2 gallons can easly be a nice hote 7 minute shower with the normal rinse/lather/rinse type showering. The roof on the suite really does a great job trapping the steamy heat in the shower stall, so being in a hurry to get the water back on isn't an issue.
Thanks, this is my first portable insta hot type heater. I get the fiddley part if the equation but for a longer camp it will be nice. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it 😊
@@adventureroamx Agreed, if you are staying put for a week or more, or have this mounted on a trailer and have access to a good source of water, the longer hot showers would be clutch.
Nice gadget to have on hand, great review thanks for sharing
