Thanks for watching! I’d at least add all relevant audiences to your Search campaigns as Observation audiences to learn and possibly make bid adjustments. Targeting with RLSA can be effective but can also limit volume.
Hey Joe. Great video. Question for you. If you want to compare your custom match lists to the general population of people in your campaign, is there an easy way to do that?
Assuming you're collecting the first party without any deception then yes. Making sure your emails were collected with all user permission and you have it called out in your privacy policy then you should be good.
Question: Has anyone had success using a customer match list for the display network? I would like to use the customer match list along w a geofence to serve ads to a group of people with the same email address. Does this sound feasible?
Your voice was like a balm to hear. Thanks for the knowledge but can we run without first name, last name, non-gmails ids, zip code(UAE does not have it) and only phone numbers and country?
This article has the formatting guidelines. support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7659867?sjid=4743324561131607334-NA. Even if you don't use all of the columns, you still have to include the column headers otherwise the file will be rejected. As for inputs, Email is a mandatory field.
Hello. Need advice from your end. I am working in Google ads and have not uploaded any customer match list but just the customer match smart bidding check box is on and got a customer match policy violation. Can't figure out the reason as I have followed all the consent. Please help with this.
We’ve been having issues lately too of lists of 5,000+ having too low of a match rate to use. Honestly don’t know why it’s happening since many are Gmail addresses
Hi there, you can't really review a list once it's been uploaded. Your best bet is to review the data you had in the original file and reupload. (You can delete the current list to save you from having 2 of the same thing in the account.) That said, every list is different and matching will never be 100%. I've had lists of 10,000 users that had
@@PaidMediaPros Not sure I follow why I'd reupload the same list. All emails are legit and gathered from tradeshows. Not knowing which customers emails were rejected makes this process worthless. Tired of Google and their games. I've uploaded multiple lists of 1000+ to multiple accounts and never seen one hit the mark. All accounts are over spend threshold. What a phenomenal waste of time and resources!
My list had 11K people and matched 100%. However, when I look at the audience it says it's under 100 people and too small to serve. Any idea what might be the issue?
Good video. But now customer match have made some improvements. All ad account without policy violation can use this. Missed in this video. Spend limit is removed
You can use other emails, but those emails must be tied to a Google account. For example many businesses use Gmail for their company email hosting. Those would all work.
That's odd. We leave fields blank all the time. You must, however, include the following four column headers: First Name, Last Name, Country, and Zip. Even if you don't have information in every row for these columns, they have to be in the template you're uploading.
Hi Fred, you can, but they work a little differently in Google. On Facebook, you tell the platform to make lookalikes. On Google, the platform will automatically make a Similar Audience if your original list has enough data to create one from. There's no perfect amount of users in a list, but usually the bigger the better for getting a Similar Audience to populate. Hope that helps!
Customer lists can now be used as signals for your bidding strategies. Another way to help Google find the right new customer. Definitely recommend adding them if you can.
Thanks for providing the Requirements right away. This definitely helps understand which accounts can use this feature (for targeting)
Glad it was helpful!
In my campaign, the list of customers does not appear so that I can segment. Would you know the reason?
Any chance you’re in an industry restricted from using customer match?
Hi how can i use it for targeting people similar to my customer match list?
Thanks for the easy to follow walk-through!
Glad it was helpful!
Cool video guys, if I only have emails first and last name info can I leave the other fields in blank ?
Yep! Just leave the cells in the other columns blank if you don’t have the additional info.
Hi guys, cool video!! Question is it recommendable to use audiences for search ads ?
Thanks for watching! I’d at least add all relevant audiences to your Search campaigns as Observation audiences to learn and possibly make bid adjustments. Targeting with RLSA can be effective but can also limit volume.

Will customer match still work when cookies are deprecated? How does affect privacy concerns across display?
Assuming you're collecting the first party without any deception then yes. Making sure your emails were collected with all user permission and you have it called out in your privacy policy then you should be good.
Like every other video on paid Media Pros, this video is also just superb! 👌
We really appreciate it. Thanks for watching!

How is customer match different from offline conversions?
Customer match is an audience targeting option. Doesn't mean they are conversions.

That's a tough one without seeing the file and the exact violation. You'll have to work with support on this one.
@@PaidMediaPros ok thanks for your reply. Hopefully support will help.
Great video! Very helpful. What do you believe is a good size customer list to start with? 100 ,500 1,000 contacts?
Big. You need at least 100 matched users to use it on Display or UA-cam. You need 1,000 matched users to use customer lists on Search.
Hi, thank you for the video. I don't have the adspend to qualify for targeting, but can you help me understand what layering is? Thanks :)
Another viewer informed us the spend limit rule was removed. Give it a shot!
I've added a list with over 2,000 contacts and around 50% match but the list size is zero. How long does it normally take to update?
I have same question

I’ve honestly never had that problem before. What campaign type was it

same question, did anybody resolve this issue?
Great stuff!
Glad you think so!

That’s good to know! Thanks for sharing because I didn’t hear about that change. Lucky that my clients spend enough to not have to worry about it.
I uploaded 20.000 emails, %100 match rate but still "size: display, too small to serve
This happens to us frequently too. I still don't have a concrete answer why which is unfortunate.
Only we can use email with @gmail.com or other eamil format is also work?
You can use other emails, but those emails must be tied to a Google account. For example many businesses use Gmail for their company email hosting. Those would all work.
CAN YOU UPLOAD WITHOUT ZIP CODE I DONT HAVE THAT? caps
Yes you can! The bare minimum you need is email. If you don't have any in a particular column you can just leave the cells empty.
@@PaidMediaPros i get a notification zip is missing and a few other erors
Great video! So just to confirm, You need 1K users customer information for it to serve? That seems like a lot >.
Any remarketing audience used on the Search Network needs 1,000 cookies users whether it’s a customer list or a site visit audience.
You can't leave fields blank, you need to have them 'show a null character' , good luck finding out what that means.

can we create look alikes like in Facebook ? how many clients do we need ?

Could you please clarify what is accomplished by the customer list if it is checked on in settings but not added to any campaigns or ad groups?
