    I’ve been watching your videos for a while and it still surprises me in a good way that you’re so upfront and honest about what happens out there; there are plenty of you tubers that will edit the crap out of their videos to make themselves look amazing but you’ve shown the bumps and bruises. Thank you for being so transparent and a great fisherman. We’ve all been there when a big one gets off so we’re behind you 100% but I’d dare to say that’s the kind of thing that makes you better to watch than the other guys!

    I just lost my PB yesterday right at the boat. The pain of losing a fish so close to the boat... words cannot describe. I felt your pain. Thank you for showing the good along with the bad of fishing. Cast after cast and no bites. You can do everything right, and sometimes still no bite. Great vid. Look forward to your next vid!

    Tournament fishing in one video. All the highs and lows, disappointments and glorious moments…..in one video. And we keep coming back for that one extraordinary day when the planets line up just right and you look like a hero.
    Not enough pre fish…….you just needed more time on the lake to figure it out. Mechanics are there…..you just needed to fish where the fish were Greg!!!
    Buzzbait is big down there. So is the shad spawn. Someone had that locked down. Next time champ. Go get em!!!! Thanks for the fantastic video, warts and all. A true champ.

It's impressive the composure you keep, I honestly couldn't do it. So good to see you bring it back on the 2nd day. Also with 150 anglers at that level, you did better than half of em! Way to stick to the grind without giving in. Best thing we can do it's keep at it and keep positive. Find a pattern in yourself to keep confidence high. Confidence is key in fishing always once we start letting it slip our time on the water turns into a struggle. Thank you for continuing to share your experiences Greg as a kayak angler that's itching to eventually get into kayak tournament fishing i truly respect your sharing of adventures and have learned allot from you. I’d have to argue against that, the more that I play with a fish, the bigger the hole in their mouth gets, and the easier the hook can come out. Also when you fight a fish for a long time you weaken it so it’s less likely that it will swim off well. Finally when you put your rod tip in the water the fish has less time and leverage from a high pole to jump and spit the hook, the fewer times that it jumps the better.

    • @fryeguy9939
      @fryeguy9939 3 роки тому +1

      I have to be split on this .. You have times where I have to play them and vice versa.. Depending on the hook set .... Just my opinion.. The Frye Guy..

    • @morganyoder4277
      @morganyoder4277 3 роки тому

      @@fryeguy9939 I can only see playing a fish if you have a single hook on a crank bait, but then again I normally don’t fish crank baits.

    Man Greg I could feel that pain from that lost 8 pounder all the way through the screen of my phone watching this video. You will be back at it. You're an awesome fisherman. I admire you for posting the mistakes and struggles instead of only posting the good times. I don't care how good a fisherman a person is, because we all have been there.
