Exploring the Burnett River by kayak - Bass and Yellowbelly

  • A thoroughly enjoyed session on the Burnett River chasing freshwater Australian Bass. There is some great water to cover and some excellent fish including Yellowbelly (Golden Perch) and some awesome little Platypus as well!
    Chasebaits Ripple Cicada finding some surface action, and Atomic Shiner 60, Rapala Jack Deep and Jackall Squirrel finding some bites also. A handy Yellowbelly also fell to a TT Vortex Spinnerbait.

    Hey mate good going not asking for particular spots just wanna know what river system like up top of sandy hook , fresh part of splitters or fresh part of Kolan

      This is actually on the Burnett itself.

      Like in Bundaberg or ? I’ve been chasing bass for ages know and only caught 2 so far but would love to catch more

      Upstream of Bundy, not as far as Paradise Dam, but quite a way up. All public access so some Google Map searches should find you some good Bassy water I reckon!
