Idk if you’ll see this lol, but actually a few years ago we were at an Indy car race and Mario was in his race team tent, and my sister ran up to the fence this and said “Mr Andretti!!! My brother is with me and he’d love to get your autograph!!!!!” Mario, being the awesome human he is, waved us through the crowd so I could get a picture with him, I have a white Indy car model so the drivers could sign it, and of course I had to get Mario’s signature right across the nose in bright red so it stood out, he’s an amazing human!!! And it made my lifeeee meeting him like that
Since my father passed away because of covid a month ago, every time i watch your videos i feel some kind of relief, he was a watch enthusiast just like me and my grandfather. Now i own a vintage rolex datejust from the 80s (grandfather's) and a rare vintage rolex oysterquartz (father's). I remember learning from my grandfather how to set a clock using the WWVB radio signal from colorado while living in mexico! Gotta keep the good watch taste going for the future family generations! Thanks TGV. Greetings from Mexico.
I'm giving a shout-out on the TGV editing. It's something I think we take for granted, but a brilliant element of the special sauce that keeps us coming back for more!
Hands down, Poljot Strela. It's reasonably priced, has awesome heritage and a unique and utterly beautiful look. Greetings from Germany, your videos always make my day.
Agreed. And if you can get one with the 3133 mov't (as opposed to the ST19), even better. Absolutely bullet proof. Heritage better than any chronograph (barr the sᴘᴇᴇᴅɪᴇ).
On Poljot24 he still has a limited edition with the last batch of 3133, and a couple, more practical, design changes ( date at 6 ; 20mm lug widths..). I got one, a beauty. I got up to 62hours power reserve with it, crazy.
I'm in my 50's and a huge Formula 1 fan and Mario Andretti was my first F1 hero, so I own an older version of the Yema Rally Graph Mario Andretti version and I love it. It's so comfortable and it came with a leather and rubber racing strap. The rubber strap is the best rubber strap I have ever come across.
Great video. I have the Solar Orient Neo70s and it's a fantastic watch. Tough, waterproof, looks amazing especially on a rally strap. One small correction to what Marc said - yes, Orient uses in house movements for pretty much all their watches. This is the exception - it's thought to be a Seiko V175 solar mecha-quartz movement, so in-group but not in-house. I actually learnt how to re-zero the subdial hands on it from a video Marc did with another V175 watch.
I was super lucky to meet Mario Andretti back when I was working at a restaurant. (High end steakhouse) He's such a friendly man, and a childhood hero of mine.
Love the clear honesty about the seagull movements. In every industry there is a LOT happening on the background that consumers rarely know. Good to get some insights now and then.
Great...thanks for take time with my favs..Ctitizen soon i will add the diver promaster to my collection.....the eternal fight Seiko vs Citizen........
I can listen to these two guys for hours. My best go-2-guys for watches. Thank you both of you for sharing your thoughts, experience, knowledge and passion.
I love my Christopher Ward watches. The finishing is great, the sizing and fit are perfect. The C65 Trident GMT is my favorite watch I've owned. That green dialed chrono is nice looking.
I too love my Christopher Wards and own four of them. Unfortunately, two have had to be returned for repair and a further one will be returned imminently for repair. This is disappointing because they all punch well above their weight for looks and finish.
Jerry and Dean you guys have an unbelievable almost magical chemistry! So much fun to watch and combined with the knowledge is really unparalleled in the watch community.
I love the Citizen dialogue. I have many Eco-Drive watches and spend a lot of summer time in the water. The Citizen Pro Master dive watches have never failed me. Love the Eco-Drive movement
I like that you both weren’t already aware of what watches you were each bringing. I enjoy watching your videos and seeing the two of you together is fun, as well. Bulova! :)
Love seeing you guys work together. Two of my favorite watch people from two of my favorite UA-cam channels. If you're thinking about looking at Citizen again, I highly recommend one of the PCATs (Mine is an AT4004-52e, and I just love it). Incredibly versatile watch for the price.
Hello guys I have seen lots of your videos, I really enjoy the authentic way you interact. I own a SSG015 in this video Mark mentioned the SSG017 and is the first time I see a similar model as of mine mentioned by one of the horological UA-camrs I follow. I think is an interesting watch, that delivers a lot for the value. Glad to finally see it in one of your videos! 6:15 🎉
Haha,I literally just asked if it was me or if anyone else thinks he looks like he'd be a good movie double for William Defoe.lmfao.idk to me he looks soo much like Defoe but that my own opinion.
Always a pleasure to hear the banter between TGV and Marc, I always learn something new as well. Keep it going guys. It's odd how many watches I've owned or seen over the years that have cropped up during the previous videos have been mentioned over the last many months.
I'm wearing that exact Citizen World Time Chrono Blue Angels watch right now and I love it! Glad it's getting the recognition that it deserves! During "Black November" Amazon regularly had them on sale for mid-$200 range when I got this one. It was a steal!
Love the watch choices. Another great vid gents, loving the chemistry between you two. When I start my channel and have the odd watch chat with people, I hope to find people with as much passion, humour and knowledge that you both have. Take care and stay safe.
I hope your health is well, TGV-- You've been looking rather sickly lately or it could just be my observation.... I wish that it isn't the case, however, and that you're doing great. Mark and yourself make a very well-rounded discussion on watches. Thank you for all your uploads and for sharing your passion with us.
Thanks gentlemen since I was a young lad I have always loved watches but recently I have rediscovered this passion. I’m a huge fan and literally now spend so much time watching your videos.😉 Thanks for putting me on to such amazing affordable watches (Christopher Ward, Yema, Hemel, Dan Henry etc…) It’s time to go shopping 🙂 TGV rocks the house!
THE ARNIE!!!!!!!!! YAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!! Well very pleasantly surprised with your number 1!;) I absolutely love mine! They did bump up the size of the SNJ025 To the original by 2/3 mm but it looks awesome on my little wrist!;) A great selection guys!
Love this series. TGV, please put all this videos with Marc into one playlist on your channel, so it's easier to look for them. Thanks for you work guys!
You guys had me laughing with the Bulova pronunciations 😂 and also the realisation that I've been pronouncing it wrong for years! I pronounce it same as TGV, the British way. 🇬🇧 Thanks for making these great top under 500 vids. 🙏
So stoked! I own six on the list! Just made me realize I am a dyed-in-the-wool chrono collector. Everyone needs to give the Blue Angels 8020 a hard look. It’s a beast, I have never touched the crown on this watch! All other watches in my watch box are set to this reference piece. Fun episode, so entertaining, thanks!
You guys are so funny! My wife is saying how you two sound me talking watches with my friend. She got me the Blue Angel watch mentioned here for my birthday this week! Thanks guys!!
You guys are having way to much fun! I have a call in to the Fun Police and they are taking a sworn statement from Hugo as of this writing! Love the Christopher Ward and Boluva picks.
You mentioned the Dan Henry watches....I went to the sight yesterday and ended up buying one. I chose the Chocolate Brown 1939....love the time reference point for thus watch. Quite a few military men in the family. I literally couldn't resist it. I had been looking for a good brown watch that could be dressed up or down..Thank you a ton for mentioning this brand....also mentioned in a previous video😉. I may possibly be going right back for the 1970 black dial...just not sure on the size. I will know better after I see the 41mm Chocolate brown watch on my wrist. Also you all talked about Citizen....Dan is my first branch out from those 👍
The general public are much more logical than watch enthusiasts, hence the larger sales numbers of Citizen and Casio solar-powered quartz watches. The number whispering is hilarious.
@@RichardsModellingAdventures I find there is a relatability element of mechanical, we work similarly with our heart there is timing control with the heart and watch
@@oscarosullivan4513 I don't feel this way at all now, but can relate to it. I still own some mechanicals. I tend to buy a watch based on build quality, durability and aesthetics. Now we have quartz, mechanical watches make no practical sense in the real world.
Sry but I still prefer mechanical and automatic watches.granted they tend to cost more but I haven't had one of those ever flat out stop working.so far I've got 2 quartz watchs(one with Ronda 715 and other has Ronda 515gmt movement)that stopped working.actually waiting to receive new movements for them so I can get them working again to sell them.been learning how to service my own movements as well so that may have something to do with me preferring mechanicals and automatics as well.
@@oscarosullivan4513That viewpoint never resonated with me. Mechanical watches are powered by a coiled spring releasing potential energy. That has almost nothing in common with a biological pumping muscle which is consuming chemical energy.
As a flight instructor I used to wear the Citizen Skyhawk and actually use the calculation features. As an airline pilot now, it’s Brietling and Tudor GMT.
Super cool entertainment again. And I did not know the Bulova Curve. I must have a closer look on that. Right now my favorite under 500 is the Straton Comp Driver Quartz or the Speciale. Thanks again for this episode.
Honestly! I am so happy that the “adventure with watchbox” is over! I really like this urban gentry style of reporting! Great to see that Mark is also involved:) Funny to see I own several watches in this video! Amongst others the Bulova which is way too underrated imo esp since its link to space (45:28). Love the dialogue. Love that you guys collaborate! Would have LOVED to see the Graff Zeppelin Panda on here. Beautiful watch, IMO, although not to the level of fine instruments you guys came up with.

Whoa, fancy seeing you here! Do you immediately toss watch boxes over your shoulder as well, or is that exclusive to microphones?
What kind of watch does the mic man use? something sturdy for when a box gets chucked i assume.

Great Video. Mario also won in NASCAR, and I think he’s the only who won the F1 championship, Indy 500 and the Daytona 500.
That is true, in addition to the 24 Hours of LeMans.
