Nice to hear somebody advocating for Citizen. I have six of them, good honest well made workhorses that just do what you want, accurately tell the time, never stop and so far, have never needed servicing. They're eco drive of course. I'm a Quartz guy and have no shame that I wear them more than my Omegas.
If you like the solar powered quartz check out Casio Oceanus.... They have some in the 500$ range and are super high quality rivaling grand seiko for sure
@Matt-pp9hl Hi Matt, i would like to, but they seem to be difficult to find here in the UK. Ordering from overseas attracts a healthy import tax making them very expensive. I do have the Yellow Bluetooth Casioak and a Nudmadter though. There is a new metal version of the Casioal out, which I will be acquiring!
I have the vintage Eagle 7 one, mini rolex they called. Look up on the internet, my piece be made at 1980s and surprisingly still a workhorse up until now. It just miss few second a day, which is not my main concern. Since I have had this Citizen watch, I pay more attention about Citizen and end up switch from seiko to the brand Citizen.
I love that you included your expertise in manufacturing in the video, it brought a lot of unique value. Too many watch folks just have their opinions and little else to offer.
@@yiamas07 The movement is alright, nothing wrong with accuracy. Realistically, few people buy watches for their movements else quartz and eco-drives would be the only watches worth buying. Integrated bracelet + titanium + textured dial + serviceable movement + sapphire + price = a no brainer decision.
I love Citizen now. Used to be a Seiko fanboy. Citizen is really killing it now with entry level stuff. Just got a yellow dial Tsuyosa and it’s incredible! Beautiful movement and bracelet as well. Stunning yellow!!
I just did exactly this, didn't overthink it and bought it sight unseen. I'm in love with it, it's so comfortable and fits amazing. 10/10 would recommend
I started REALLY loving what Citizen started doing in terms of the brand's aspirations. Loved the tsuyosa (and got it), fell in love with titanium promaster (and got it), and already started saving for the lovely true GMT. Thanks for covering them. Citizen today is like the old Seiko we loved.
Two years ago I bought a Casio Oceanus OCW-T4000S, which is a very different watch from this Citizen, but it has a titanium case and bracelet. The case and edges of the middle links have chamfered edges that are high polished, and I can barely discover any scratches after two years of use. At $580 shipped from Japan it looks like Casio has also mastered working with titanium. It's unclear whether they do any surface treatment, although I've seen references to titanium carbide being used. I can definitely see that the Grand Seiko Taisetsu's case and dial finishing is a step up in quality from the Casio, but we're talking about a ten to one price difference. And the cheaper watch has a tool-less micro adjust, and better AR coating.
I actually bought this exact same watch about 6 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I own a lot of much more expensive watches but do not regret, at all, buying this Citizen.
The best Citizen watches are called "The Citizen" with either the A060 or 0100 movements. Grand Seiko finishing eco drives that are extremely accurate. Best value in the industry is to save for one of those.
Picked up a MAMACOO 's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I bought the citizen Atessa Moonphase AT grey dial. The dial is gorgeous, and the finishing on the titanium is incredible at any price. It quickly became my most worn watch.
Well done. So cool that you're a guy who can obviously afford high end luxury watches, but you're still willing to purchase, own, appreciate and enjoy a Citizen. I love Citizen, they are probably my favorite watch manufacturer. To me they are the ultimate 'every man' watch company. Great video. I really enjoyed it.
Great video. Been wearing a citizen eco drive watch for 25 years. My first one was stolen in ‘12 and now I have an Avion eco drive. Only time I have to adjust the time is during DST because it’s always accurate.
Time has kept quite well over that time as well? What I love about citizen is the idea of zero battery change with the value of the titanium. I don’t like heavy bracelets. I don’t know if I can find the +- second accuracy specs for some of these citizens.
This is an EXCELLENT offering. The only reason I have not picked one up yet is because I'm afraid I won't wear my other watches. If they offer a day date, I might not be able to resist.
Just got the three hand eco drive in green. The only issue I have with it is that I now need the mechanical version. The second issue is I don’t know what color… and I fear that citizen will continue to force me to buy these watches! Excellent!!
Citizen is definitely my favorite brand for affordable and reliable watches. I would even advocate for the Eco-Drive version of this watch the AW0130, that is the one I will be buying.
Just got the chrono version of this watch with a panda dial this week. Absolutely love it! I can already tell this one'll be in my collection for a long time.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
I got a super titanium citizen for 160€ on Amazon. Sapphire too. Ended up buying a second one for my dad a year later, same price. Both ecodrive btw. Citizen has some great inexpensive watches.
I totally agree. Got the same version you have (80X), and the watch is excellent. I wore it on a week long trip for work and it was more pleasant to wear than a lot of my luxury pieces. Also, what bracelet is that on your sapphire speedy? Doesn’t look like the standard bracelet
I bought a watch from AMZWATCH lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
I sat on the fence with picking one up until I seen it in the wild. The person wearing said how much they loved it. It's thing about watches until you get it in hand and wear it for a day, it's hard to tell what the overall experience is going to be like. I can vouch for this watch that it is special. For what you get in specs and how it feels and looks on the wrist. I paid less then $350 for the navy blue automatic but on the wrist it feels and looks like a thousand bucks or more!
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Great video and while I usually overthink watch purchases, I saw your video and bother Tiffany automatic version same day😂 was on 20% discount and it beats Tsoyosa, PRX and similar watches for me... Also first titanium watch!
The manufacturing insight was really helpful. It would be great to hear more about it if you feel like going intk the manufacturing side more. There are so many watch myths out there about hardness and scratch resistance, hand vs machine made, tolerances, etc., it's great to peel some of that away.
I just picked up a refurb (pretty much new w/o the fancy case) fujitsubo for $325. Same titanium & sapphire, but w/ dive watch features & better movement. If these ever go refurb for like $179-$199, be an absolute steal.
AMZWATCH is one of my favorite watch manufacturers they do offer beautifull dials, good workmanship & moovements. That smooth sweeping second hand is truly mesmerizing!
i LOVE THESE WATCHES. my issue with most watches is the small date window, you have to squint to see the date or carry a magnifying glass, also perpetual cadate calender would be nice on these too, set and forget !
Went with the echo drive version since citizen does free sizing. Only 39mm also. Wish they made a rubber strap to match that green dial. Then it would be a 10
Whatever Citizen does to their titanium it’s amazing. I wear a Promaster Tough to work and it has held up under pretty constant abuse. Meanwhile my Pelagos is a scratch magnet even though I baby it way more. The coating they use is pretty amazing imho.
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!I love AMZWATCH watch!! Dream watch! Everytime I wear it, makes me feel amazing!
This was such a no brainer for me. The white one is my choice. It is almost perfect.

Sorry, but I watched the video and i have to comment besides I'm not a watch guy. Never was. I have a garmin. The video said this citizen is a "integrated sports watch" What?? To my eyes it has zero sport functions. For this price you can buy a garmin fenix 7 which is a fabulous watch. Its a "smart" watch i know but its not a gimmick. Its a garmin!! The american special forces uses garmins because they built to reach military standards. For me this citizen looks like just a n+1 dopamine boost. A garmin can change your life. Literally. With the sport and health functions in the app. I meet a lot of famous and rich people because my job and its so good to see a lot of them also wearing some kind of garmin because for me it means that they have a commitment to performance and a serious approach to personal health. But hey. That is just me. I'm happy to go into a discussion.
Smartwatches do many great things but people who buy watches like this Citizen aren't cross-shopping them. They serve different purposes. Many people love mechanical watches for the movement, design, and love of watchmaking. It's not a logical hobby haha.
Citizen customers don’t want disposable electronics, don’t want gadgets buzzing them all the time, and don’t want a watch that will be junk in 5 years. This watch should have a good 30-50 years left in its life after 5 years. The Garmin is an entirely different value prop.
These are even cheaper in the px on the base I'm at. I wonder if it's still I saw a couple months ago... Now I feel like my hunch to grab it was right and I'm worried it's sold
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops!MAMACOO watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
This finishing in Ti is pretty nice to see at this price. I got a different Ti citizen last year for maybe 350-400$ from an overseas ebay shop and it and it's bracelet are brushed or lapped or whatever and it looks way better than the blasted Ti cases I have.
Awesome watch. Absolutely had to pick one up. I love the tissot prx, I bought the quartz green dial one. So I assume I’ll like this one just as much if not better than. Citizen is a great value watch company that I just haven’t found a look that I like from them… until now. A Grand seiko spring drive is my grail watch someday, so this watch seemed to give me a beautiful dial and similar to try out and see if I’m still going down the right path. I found this citizen watch with the blue dial & automatic on eBay for $350 🎉 So excited to see how it looks on the wrist.
The integrated bracelet is a hard no for me. Too, bad its a nice looking watch. I have small wrists and these usually cannot be adjusted to fit me well. If I buy a watch with a bracelet, I immediately replace it with a leather strap. Integrated bracelets cannot be changed to a strap.
Nice review. Btw, titanium isn't normally "scratch resistant" ... unless it is specially coated. But I just went to Citizen's website and notice this watch *is* Duratect coated.
Nice watch. I would consider it if I didn’t recently get the Certina DS action diver in titanium. Titanium watches are super light, so light that it feels ‘fake’ if that makes sense
i think my biggest gripe is the 8213 movement. Because I have a Citizen Pilot Watch with the 8213 movement in brown dial and green leather strap. And it only costed me like 185 dollars (converted to USD from SGD). It's a solid watch for the price considering it's automatic (and way better offering than any of the automatic garbage fossil offers) Personally I feel that if they at least went for a 9 series movement or at least a 8315 it'd been a perfect contender with the Swiss movement offerings that are either
Great video! I have been eyeing this as well. Question: I have hairy arms, so it hurts when my arm hair gets trapped inside the bracelet links and then the bracelet ends up pulling them off by their roots! Painful! That's why I prefer leather straps. How can I get leather straps onto this bad boy considering that this has an integrated bracelet?
I had to watch this video three times because you spoke so well about this watch, which was a total surprise to me as I had never heard of this model before now. Really ticks many boxes as you say and yet is cheap and stylish. Just found one on chrono24 which I think I will buy. Love the colour too and for me the chapter ring in black sets the whole dial off perfectly. Good video, well made. Update: I decided to contact my local Citizen outlet here in France. They are getting some more deliveries in the next two weeks or so which is fine for me. I was going to just order online but decided to wait and take a look at one in the flesh before buying. Really looking forward to hearing from my dealer.
Thanks for that review! Didn't know about the Super Titanium Series. Just bought my first titanium watch a week ago ( Timex Expedition North Titanium ) and now I'm definitely gonna buy atleast one more.
Such a good review. A reasonable take on a really well priced and speced watch. I think an applied citizen logo instead of the painted one would really make this pop. It blows the PRX away as is. Lately my miyota movements have been exceptional too.
Very nice looking. The one you got is probably the best, but I also find the lighter blue version compelling. That teal reminds me of how I liked to set up my Windows 3.1 desktop aesthetic. Cheers.
Citizen makes great looking watches. I'd actually love to see the same dial in a stainless steel and with normal lugs, because I'm not a fan of bracelets, but I'm a great fan of the texture. But this one is great anyway.
Bang for buck for sure. I agree dump the automatic/titanium print on the dial, get rid of it on all watches. My number one peeve when it comes to watch dials. I already know if it is automatic or quartz. If you must just give it a name or model. This wouldn't keep me from buying this watch however.
have eco drive 200m titanium srate proof 2oyears old plus divers 30year 0ld divers 100mtsbattery both work to perfection never spent money 0n them very underrated watch
Titanium, while not inexpensive, is more affordable than commonly perceived. For example, titanium bikes can be found for around $1,000, with frames available for approximately $500. Given that a bike frame contains significantly more titanium than a watch, the material cost alone is not the primary factor driving the price of titanium watches. The challenge lies in the precision engineering required to craft refined titanium parts, a task that brands like Citizen excel at due to their advanced technology and expertise. Regarding the watch itself, it's stunning. Although I wasn't particularly drawn to the Tsuyosa collection before, this model is exceptionally appealing. The allure is heightened by its exquisite Eco-Drive movement, making it a highly tempting purchase.
Titanium adds a nice "tool" touch to this because of the darker colour. Not too smart, but smart enough for all occasions and casual at the same time. An all rounder of a watch. I like the offset seconds - it gives it a nice look away from predictability. I've ordered the blue for £277 - what a steal.
This is rise of Citizen! Their PCAT and ProMaster lines have been overlooked for a decade. With TheCitizen, the Tsuyosa, and now this Forza line, they have more interesting new watches than anything from Switzerland as well.
Nice watch! But when I google NJ0180-80X it is the one with the green dial. I cannot find it with this grey dial, what is the name of the watch withe the grey dial?
FYI, Invicta and Tandorio both make water resistant Titanium watches for under 100 USD. Both brands use the reliable NH35 Seiko movement. I have both and LOVE them..!!! 😊
This is a fantastic watch with great price and value. However, since I already own two PRX models-the Quartz Mint/Tiffany and the Ice Blue Automatic-I don't see a reason to own this one as well. Recently, I bought my first luxury watch, a Grand Seiko SBGX263, after collecting watches for two years. This purchase has made me much more selective; I no longer buy watches just because they're hyped. Now, I truly appreciate what I have. It's interesting how it works: the more expensive the watch, the less interesting the cheaper ones become. For reference, my first watch was a Seiko 5 DressKX.
i like that case design but i would not buy a miyota movement just because of the mono directional rotor, it doesn't wind up well at all, probably up to 80% max when worn. Used to have a Laco powered by miyota, love the look but hated the movement.
after all it comes down to the last question, can you change only the clasp part of the bracelet into a nice quality butterfly one? That would make the watch real classy.
Thanks for calling this Citizen to my attention. As an aside, aesthetically the Tissot PRX dial is closer to the AP Royal Oak, maybe an homage to the RO. Just saying...
Is the movement justifiable? I can find a microbrand watch(Henry Archer for example) with 9000 series miyota movement around the same price. So super titanium alone worth the price?
It's not hard to work with in small volumes, such as a watch body. Milling and polishing it in such a small scale isn't much different than any other metal, and the extra cost is pennies. All the mills and polishing stuff used is the same, because they're all already harder than these metals, it just adds a tiny bit more wear and tear, but virtually insignificant.
I'm confused. If you work in manufacturing and "get your hands dirty" why would you wear a $500 watch? In fact, you aren't supposed to be wearing a watch when working around machines. So I think someone isn't being honest here.

It's a solid watch for the price considering it's automatic (and way better offering than any of the automatic garbage fossil offers)
Personally I feel that if they at least went for a 9 series movement or at least a 8315 it'd been a perfect contender with the Swiss movement offerings that are either
What's the exact model of this watch....
Love MAMACOO watch,Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the AMZWATCH’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
At 1:12 time stamp you sounded like Dave2D. Love the watch and the video.
Only review channel worth watching.
Super informative vid, and appreciate the love for Citizen, well deserved.
have eco drive 200m titanium srate proof 2oyears old plus divers 30year 0ld divers 100mtsbattery both work to perfection never spent money 0n them very underrated watch
The second hand is a little painful to observe on the eco-drive though, so i would probably go for the mechanical
@@simonhill6267 I like the tick :D I'm a big quartz fan.
@@cunawarit except it doesn't line up to the markers
Happy to report that after purchasing the green dial it ticks on all the hands perfectly. Very quiet movement!
Is that suede band on the GS stock? Where did you get that from. It’s beautiful!!
I've had a Titanium Eco-Drive, 200 m water resistant, perpetual calendar watch for over 20 yrs, great watch, has never needed servicing.
Great price! Enjoy!
This is rise of Citizen! Their PCAT and ProMaster lines have been overlooked for a decade. With TheCitizen, the Tsuyosa, and now this Forza line, they have more interesting new watches than anything from Switzerland as well.
Yes, it also does not make sense to me when the watch dial has quartz, automatic etc written on it. These things should be written at the back.
Great video. Is aftermarket DLC a thing?
Yes it is a thing, but its a bit pricey usually to have it done.
Nice watch! But when I google NJ0180-80X it is the one with the green dial. I cannot find it with this grey dial, what is the name of the watch withe the grey dial?
Shows you how overpriced most watches are.
Where can I buy that automatic green dial. I’m in the US.. but don’t see that model in there website. They just have the eco drive version
Citizen smashing it out of the park as normal. Fantastic brand and QC 💪🏼👍
FYI, Invicta and Tandorio both make water resistant Titanium watches for under 100 USD. Both brands use the reliable NH35 Seiko movement. I have both and LOVE them..!!! 😊
Prefer this watch
may you write here something about the DLC coating ?
which model it has ?
because we apply it on vinyl records... and know something about it
This is a fantastic watch with great price and value.
That's how it begins when you first make the switch, but for many watch nerds it doesn't last. I hope it does for your sake though!😆
Bro your my new favourite channel. I'm going to level up a bit lol!
i like that case design but i would not buy a miyota movement just because of the mono directional rotor, it doesn't wind up well at all, probably up to 80% max when worn. Used to have a Laco powered by miyota, love the look but hated the movement.
after all it comes down to the last question, can you change only the clasp part of the bracelet into a nice quality butterfly one? That would make the watch real classy.
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for MAMACOO watch makers
What bracelet are you using on the grand seiko?
Thanks for calling this Citizen to my attention. As an aside, aesthetically the Tissot PRX dial is closer to the AP Royal Oak, maybe an homage to the RO. Just saying...
Really like the Tiffany one, waiting for some holiday sale. I am big fan of Citizen Super Titanium watches. Just picked a Moon phase one on sale.
25.07.24 ordered this as my first automatic watch🎉
I have a titanium Seiko and I can say that titanium scratches more easily than stainless steel. It is really really light.
Is the movement justifiable? I can find a microbrand watch(Henry Archer for example) with 9000 series miyota movement around the same price. So super titanium alone worth the price?
Because of You sir, I bought me one. Great video
What color is shown in the vid?
Happy with my FXD. Titanium. my daily driver.
What a great watch and a great review.
What would be better? Automatic or eco drive?
Manufacturing insight was fascinating!! Thanks so much .
Glad you enjoyed it!
Will it accept a leather band?
Hi. Where did you order this particular dial color version? Having a hard time seeing it available online for the US via reputable sites.
Titanium is $0.35/lb. It's cheap but hard to work with, so it's the labour costs that increase the price.
