These reviews of older vehicles is great. Keep them coming.😊 All in all I’d probably take the 2024 but the older 2008 Mustang body style I really like. Minus the hood scoop😂
This is my favorite style mustang I hope to own one as a weekend car eventually and it’s very motivating that the base of this platform aren’t too expensive
That is the thing with the 3 and 2 v, they need boost to make power, but man oh man do they sound glorious. Even tho I’d probably take a Mopar or Old F body in this era and only became a Mustang Guy with the intro of the Yote, I must give the 4.6 credit for being amazing sounding.
I remember seeing one of these at a Ford dealer when I was going to college. Was really surprised by the HP, and the price! Very cool car though, probably my next favorite after the GT500s from the 05-09 era
I have to go old school with the 2008 P-51A! This S197 is the modern version our classic Years that started it all from ‘65 to ‘70 ….compared to what we have today. No , it’s not going to handle like the new one ..but my uncles ‘70 BOSS 302 don’t either. My good friend had a “B” Model from 2009 ….and it’s the nostalgia and limitability that make this car special. I grew up in aviation. My father’s a flight instructor, and ended up working in aerospace for 22+ years . Mr. Jack Roush is a very humble nice man. He actually owns (2) P-51 WWII fighter planes ….that are about $2 million each. I’ve had the privilege to meet him several times. I’m best friends with the Sales Manager of the # 1 Roush dealership in the world, Tindol Roush Performance…. In Gastonia, NC, just west of Charlotte ….If you are ever in the area, I can hook you up with Mr. Lyle Sturgis , the Sales Manager over that number one Roush dealership . He would love to show you everything…. and I’m sure he can Arrange a meeting with Mr. Roush. Their NASCAR shop is just in the edge of Charlotte. Both are great people and the dealership is worth your time. There’s a museum nearby for Mustang! Great video I take the nostalgia, over the modern car…. I’m just old-fashioned, and love aviation! My first ride in a Mustang ….was my uncle’s grabber blue BOSS 302 At the age of 3, and I never forgot it….power shifting With the engine screaming, chirping the tires …pinning me in those big white seats.
The 3v Mustang GT's are a TON of fun to drive! I owned one for four years, supercharged at 10 psi making about the same amount of power as the one in the video and it was awesome! Definetly fun cars to own and drive!
@@tre_4 compared to a late model 5.0, yes. But for a budget 400-450whp, it’s not bad in terms of just something to have fun around town and a highway pull every now and then. Still nothing compared to 600-700+ hp 5.0 builds lol.
I have a 2010 Roush stage 3 because its a rare and fun car. The exhaust note is amazing and the performance isnt bad either. Many people dont know but in 2010 the Stage 3(106), 540 RH(58) and Barrett Jackson Stage 3(13) all have the same P51 power train and Roush sand bagged on the HP number. They routinely dyno around 500whp.
That's an awesome muscle car. I had a 2007 black on black GT with the Shaker . I love this generation. They look so old school. The interior may have been plasticky, but I don't care about that. I by cars based on the way they look an rhe engine.
I'd much rather have this old plasticky interior over the new one with the huge tablet as the gauge layout/infotainment. Whoever thought of that should be slapped.
I saw a newer P-51 in Clearwater or New Port Richey a few years ago ago and it was full tilt, like 750 hp? Bad ass, and a nice tribute to the fighter plane that saved the world. Keep these reviews coming guys!!!
Literally, my favorite generation in front of the new edge. The new mustangs are nice and fast and modern but this body style and the new edge are classics and never seem to age the sound that they make is literally love to the ears.
A speical thank you to Raiti's Rides, Jack Roush, and moreover our beloved WWII Tuskeegee Airmen Veterans! The Tuskeegee Airmen that made up the 332nd Fighter Group of the USAAF were composed of valiant, heroic Americans that helped America and our Allies win WWII and become victorious over tyranny and oppression. They also overcame racism as well while serving in the USAAF! Ford Motor Company and/or Roush could reintroduce a special Red Tails version of the upcoming 2024 Mustang, and reach out to our remaining Tuskeegee Airmen for their input and design suggestions too. Every day we are now losing about 234 WWII-era Veterans every day! We are grateful for all of our WWII Veterans and their sacrifices to our country.
Looks similar to my Roush Mustang stage3 with similar paint but with black racing stripes. The kit is the same with fake hood scoop😕 but the rear bumper is different with the vacuum exhaust tips. I still have the m90 supercharger making 435 hp, 400 tq. I have the same chrome wheels but larger 20in rims. Still would love to win that one👍😎
I love the S197 Mustang the refresh from 2010-14 has a stealthier appearance however the hood scoop and rear spoiler on this make it look cheesy. I'd have to take the S650 over this one thanks Joe and Steven for the video!
Love the review, back in 2009 I had a chance to buy a 2009 Roush 429r similar color to the P-51 Roush. Was not able to finalize the deal due to the banks not wanting to finance the Roush Package its a unique Mustang, glad to see you review it. Ended up with a 2010 Camaro SS, but always regretted not being able to get the Roush.
Funny, P-51A was the Allison powered, really inferior, low to medium altitude pursuit aircraft. It was the B that introduced the RR Merlin engine that made it THE Mustang and most people recognize the D with the bubble canopy as THE Mustang. Maybe Rousch had other versions of the car with the D nomenclature?
Another great review, Joe. Really enjoying these reviews of 'classic' rides. I'm also a fan of the S197 gen Stang. In my view, it's the best looking of 'modern' gen Stangs. Broad shoulders, squared off, still a bit old school but a truly solid ride with great performance.
Joe, you put on the best Mustang Videos in America. This is a Special Automobile and I believe that as time goes on, it will appreciate not depreciate! This is a perfect car to bring honorable mention to. It is a great video, outstanding presentation. Joe, you are number one!! 😎👍P.S. My 2011 Shelby GT500 Made Ratti's Rides top 50!!
A few years back Jack was in a minor plane crash. I know he owns at least 1 WW II P-51 Mustang. I don't think Ford built it though. During WW II Ford, Kaiser, Chrysler built GPS. General Purpose Vehicle got the nickname Jeep. When AMC bought Kaiser they trademarked Jeep.
Joe you are soooooo right ! On that hood scoop, double zonk! For sure……who would do such a thing now day?! Great review as always !!! Keep up the best Joe. 😜
Totally agree with Joe’s zonks specifically about hood scoop, steering wheel and seats. Joe was not that excited driving this mustang 🐎 as Viper truck. Joe wanted to take the Viper 🐍 home but Lori doesn’t like the snakes 😩
I had a 2008 428R #129 of 300 made they had one of those in the showroom as well but I didn’t like the color so ended up getting the 428 wich it was a special car too it came with certification dash signed by jack and a few more upgrades and features than a regual stage 3 or 427r
I kind of like the chrome finish now, back in the day gunmetal would have been better accepted, because it was a hot trend, and it's still pretty cool today, but I'm still a big fan of chrome and brushed aluminum.
It hasn't aged. This Mustang is amazing.
I knew you would like this one Omar.
Actually it has. The suspension and brakes sucked then and they suck now
It’s a pretty ugly car
Hell no its gorgeous ur taste sucks imo
Loser hater who's also full of shit lol
Roush has made excellent products over the years and all the cars I’ve seen are all badass
This is so true!
Mustang time🔥🔥🔥🔥
Let's do this!
The 05-09 S197 mustang is the best looking and sounding mustang ever.
These reviews of older vehicles is great. Keep them coming.😊
All in all I’d probably take the 2024 but the older 2008 Mustang body style I really like.
Minus the hood scoop😂
This has more potential than the locked down 24 does lol. At least you can build a 3v and do whatever you want with it unlike the newest mustang smh
A lot of those interior parts and materials are giving me flashbacks to my 2009 5-Spd Focus. Miss that car...
I love the Mustang P-51A I feel like this a Muscle Car's Disciple 15 years ago.
You are so very right!
@@RaitisRides Yeah love it
A perfect collector car for a rich guy. P-51 tie in is COOL. Thanks Joe.
I would love a 2010 p51a because of the updated body style
Nothing wrong with that!
This is my favorite style mustang I hope to own one as a weekend car eventually and it’s very motivating that the base of this platform aren’t too expensive
Are you reading off a teleprompter? Your knowledge of car history impresses me!
Nope not at all. Thank you so much for the compliment.
That’s beautiful I hate the new mustang fronts
I know that you are not the first to say that!
I love it even with the chrome wheels it still looks tough. Great video Joe
That Mustang engine sound echo from a long way away is so weirdly nostalgic like out of a dream. I don't know what it is.

This mustang was and still is iconic with that good ol Roush goodness
One of your most interesting and enjoyable reviews of a unique car. I would say it is perhaps the best car review I have seen on UA-cam.
I have to go old school with the 2008 P-51A!

just takes lots of money to build power/speed.

Great looking car! I'm sure it drives like it's on rails.
YESSIRRRR!!! Let’s get it!
I like the way that you think!
Joe, the shifting on this vehicle is impeccable, it sounds great!

@@midnight347, slapped hard 😂😂
My favorite generation of mustang. Have an 06 gt and an 07 500. Love them.
I’m still rocking a Mint Condition Supercharged 09 Gt Fully Loaded.
Oh heck yeah!
@@RaitisRides Yes still have oem chrome Bullitt style wheels.
@@bullittboost6046 That is really fantastic!
Love green strip
I am so glad that you think so.
Feel like the new Dark Horse is still better seeing how it's close in HP while naturally aspirated. Plus.... new tech 😁
That is so very true!
I’d probably take a dark horse as well, however it won’t be nearly as special as this car is. Mass produced vs iconic botique tuner
I saw a newer P-51 in Clearwater or New Port Richey a few years ago ago and it was full tilt, like 750 hp? Bad ass, and a nice tribute to the fighter plane that saved the world. Keep these reviews coming guys!!!
what year ? 2017?
One hot Mustang. 🔥
Super duper hot
I use to build the seats for all Roush mustangs and F-150's. Drove the prototype P-51A
Now that’s a hood bulge!
You know it man!
Roush s197’s look great and can’t forget about their glorious sound!
Literally, my favorite generation in front of the new edge. The new mustangs are nice and fast and modern but this body style and the new edge are classics and never seem to age the sound that they make is literally love to the ears.
raitis laugh and smile everytime he drives a mustang tells me he likes them (rightfully so)
I am a big Chrome guy. The 18 inch 5 spoke Roush rim is my favorite rim of wall time from Ralph.

My dad actually had a mustang back in his day
Great car. In 2024 this is a future classic. Very much a very “analog” car, with a live rear axle that gets very tail happy when you hit the go pedal.
Loved to see a convertible version with a more powerful engine as a nod to the P-51D.
332nd brings then home.
Love all the meanings behind the 70th P51A Roush Mustang. Good stuff 👍
Chrome makes the car pop, this is an awesome car.
Congratulations on your one million subs! What’s your ultimate goal now? Car collection? A Non-profit charitable foundation?😊👍🏻

Thanks for watching!
My dream car finally!
would rather have a 2024 with the roush p-51 package
great info 🐎🐎🔥👍🏿🇺🇸
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
I’m loving these last few reviews from dream giveaway!
Absolutely a beautiful Mustang! Forget a 2024!
I love the S197 Mustang the refresh from 2010-14 has a stealthier appearance however the hood scoop and rear spoiler on this make it look cheesy. I'd have to take the S650 over this one thanks Joe and Steven for the video!
Sweet car... minus that 510 HP decal haha
decal is dope. can be a sleeper

Hey Joe this is a beautiful car, but I am a Chevy Camaro guy lol.
Nothing with that!
Omg!! Me being into fighter aircraft from all eras of history. This Mustang me personally I would rank as the best Mustang they ever made!

“I’m not going to show the trunk because who gives a damn”

The 3V is still one of the best sounding mustangs ever!
I wish they’d bring back that front with the Mustangs I hate the new ones maybe cuz I hate Star Wars 🤣
