- The Dark Horse is the latest performance Mustang to come from Ford. Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 pumping out 500HP & mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox. On the outside you will discover the unique color called Blue Ember, 19in forged wheels and massive Brembo brakes. On the inside you will be greeted by a 2-tone interior & (2) 12.3 in screens. not everyone's a good driver dude. They dont go fast cuz they dont want to crash cuz they not confident in their skills. Not everyone can speed on civilian road in a manual car going around corners not as easy as it looks either

I agree with keeping exhaust loud! I’ve never used quiet mode on my 2022 Mach 1. My neighbor the other day said “your car is loud. I like it!” 🤣. $73k is getting pricey. $11k more than my 2022 Mach 1 with handling package. 😮. I prefer switches to fiddling with screens.
Got my Mach hp for 61 new. you couldn’t offer me enough to sell it considering the price of the new ones.
Exactly. This is a Gen Z Mach 1. Locked ECU (don't know cars, so don't need access), screen (cheap screens), and Unreal Engine graphics. Oh and of course, Remote Rev. 🤣

The only thing I like better about the dark horse compared to my Mach 1 is the factory steering wheel which I have changed out. I agree with you having no buttons to adjust the air conditioner temperature and fan speed is huge.
The DH is absolutely gorgeous in that color. Love my Vapor Blue but that thing is amazing.
The ride was exhilarating sir and I was close enough to the television where it felt like I was in the pass seat!!! 😊❤️
Dark Horse did very well in Car and Driver 0-150mph-0 tests as those Brembo brakes really do the job.
Mustang is also really fast to 150mph.... 19 seconds from a stop with the auto and 22 seconds with the manual. Those are really fast numbers.

The Coyote V8 sounds so good. That alone makes the car a treat (and worth it) everytime you drive it.
All sports cars really need physical controls as they are very demanding of your attention. Touch screens are fine for info, but not major controls.
You need to look at the interior of the 2024 Saleen Mustang. They enclose and build a dash around the displays
I miss the Camaro but this would be a good choice as well !

Great video. In Australia I put my deposit down 15 min after the announcement Sept 22. I have in writing now from Ford the production date is 22nd January 2024. It is 'only' 349kw where if it was going to be the US 500hp it should be 373kw I think. They are changing the exhaust manifold here (it's thing I will change lol).

@Brian_Eugene_Lee I love this car personally, the dark horse badge is amazing, and just the looks it brings from the (good parts) of the Camaro is amazing. Not a huge Ford guy but they hit it out the park.

Love your reviews Joe with @RaitisRides. Question... I have a Dark Horse that should be delivered soon. That being said the C8 is my dream car, and the new/aftermarket prices have fallen significantly since I ordered the Dark Horse in March. Is there any comparison between the two? I have driven several C8s and loved them! My Dark Horse is MSRP of ~$65k (I did not order it with handling pack). I can probably pick up a C8 coupe with most of what I want for about $5-10k more than that. Or even add a little more and get the HTC that I really want. What would you do? I know you have driven several of each. Thanks for any input.
Nice Darkhorse (Camaros last cousin lol)..is all alone on top of the pony car mountain..modded a lil bit with a rotofab airbox..and go over a lil over 500+hp..seems like you was so excited to drive it..row row ur gears..😅....thanks Joe and Steven for this exciting segment..😊
Joe both of them are super nice and fast. I like both as always but the Camaro kinda looks better to me but also this redesign of the Mustang looks so good.

I agree if I were to get another stang, but think it's at least 20k overpriced. I do like the color, but the body is basically the same as the 16gt I had. I also heard it is supposed to be difficult to tune and the steering feel is awful.
It looked to me that the center storage light was on b4 Joe opened it. If so gonna be a problem keeping the battery fully charged

A 12 second car with 500 horsepower for 75000 is not a win. You could get a slightly used zl1 1le for that and obliterate that mustang on every level
I'd get an Oval and a Bowtie if I could.
If you like to be different, get a Lexus RC and convert it to manual.

Over the last two years the Camaro sold approximately 1/3 the numbers if the previous S550 Mustangs and now the new S650 is off to a strong sales start. The new S650 Mustang lives on because of the important category called sales. Next the Camaro will try to sell more than the Mustang Mach E while the IMSA GT3 Mustang Dark Horse will be competing against the C8 Corvette GT3. While the Camaro has remained the same uncomfortable muscle car loaded with blind spots. The new S650 has become a world selling Sports car with the new S650 Mustang Dark Horse S, Dark Horse R, Dark Horse GT4, GT3 and GTD Super Car.

Are you sure you want to zonk those seats? Power assist adds weight, and I'd be glad to have all-manual seat controls if it means saving weight.

SS 1le is a better bang for your buck. I think these dark horses will be a dime a dozen, I don’t see 1le’s all that often.

Camaro last generation was just so ugly . And the interior is way too cramped.it had no road presence it looked like a 2 door impala.
@@joshlamar1990 I’d agree on every model but the 1le. The 1le is the only camaro that looks good in my opinion.
@@BrandenVandenToorn the wheels and black painted hood cleans it up a bit but the front end was just too busy. And they should have kept the 2017 rear lights those bug eye rear lights always was weird looking.

Manual seat back is always a beautiful thing.
What I HATE is the pedal positions. They aren’t lines up properly for heal toe down shifting easily. The gas pedal is so far back and the brake and clutch are too close

Imagine as good as the factory exhaust sounds, putting Borla or Corsa exhaust would sent on over the top.

Joe, I am with you on the screens on the dash. Really like so much about this new Mustang, but those screens are a big zonk for sure. That said, I am still firmly in the Mustang camp over the Camaro.
I knew it was going to be expensive but I would go directly for this over the GT.

I have a GT that i got for 41 and i couldn't be happier. I get to enjoy the glorious 5.0 for way less money. I don't need mine to handle like a race car because at the end of the day, a mustang is meant to be a cruiser.
I disagree Omar. The Dark Horse is nicer but if you're on a budget, the GT is the way to go. The main reason for me to go DH is to get that Tremec.

@@DWH300 GM is dropping the Camaro because they have the Corvette. You can only sell so many co'2s so they made the easy choice. You can thank Joe for that.
@@bob-qi4nr It's still becoming an EV because it wasn't selling as an Ice coupe before the C8. In 2020. Chevy only sold 29,777 2020 Camaros. The C8 sold 20,238 copies. The 2020 LT1 Camaro had an Avg cost cost around $39,000 while a C8 Stingray started around $60,000 before markups. Big difference in price for the C8 to eliminate the Camaro from production.
I’ll keep my ‘23 2SS 1LE but the DH is a sweet ride… that price tag can go a long ways on the LT1 tho

This new gen is off to a hot start! From seeing a ton of reviews it looks like the areas most in need of addressing are:
The DH needs to go on a diet
Tighter steering
Interior - dash integration and trim
Very curious to see what they do with this model next year not to mention anniversary versions and possible Shelby versions!

I just watched your comparison between your 2020 Shelby GT 350 and the 2024 Dark Horse. I agree with your comments. But as a mustang lover I presently own a 2021 Shelby Super Snake built in Vegas and a 2020 Bullitt. Now I’m waiting for delivery of my 2024 Dark Horse. I am having a hard time deciding whether to keep my Bullitt or to trade it in on the Dark Horse. What would you do.
