This video shows you how to install a new wheel hub and bearing on your 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner. Not only can a worn wheel bearing or hub be annoying if it is noisy or vibrating, but it can also lead to accelerated wear in other parts, or unsafe driving conditions. Replacing your worn bearing or hub with a quality TRQ part is a safe, smart, decision.
This repair was done on a 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.4L Sport Utility 4-Door 4WD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Regarding the snap ring removal: You just needed to press the bearing back in a bit because when you first pressed out the wheel spindle it created additional pressure on the snap ring.

Thanks very helpful video! Me and my dad were doing my 02 Tacoma and when we pressed the hub out the inner race came out with the hub. ☹️ we got the bearing replaced but we need to remove the inner race from the hub

I'm no mechanic but I've always worked on my own vehicles due to not having funds to pay a shop. I have one question. Is this impossible to do without a press? Removing the bearing from the hub and reinstalling the new bearing?
