Nice video man, I did my driver side yesterday following this, I have this video saved for some time already... Funny part is your wife telling you I feel you are the only one that works after work..... please tell her that you are not lol... men's are like this. thanks and keep it up
How did you do this without getting the bearing brace stuck on the hub? Every other video shows people cutting it off how come you didn’t have to do that?
Wow nice job , i found a link to the hub grappler but i was wondering if you can tell me where to get that snap ring tool you used to install the snap ring ? I have never seen one like that , almost looks like an adjustable vice grip wrench . Thank you for the video you def made this job look super easy to do .
Great video. Im currently stuck at taking the hub off. Looking for a locL mechanic to take my knuckle and press the hub out then the bearing. You definitely made that look easy with that hub grappler. Thanks.
You made it look easy. Thanks for showing us a better way than pressing out bearings on a shop press.
I hadn't seen it done with the hub grappler yet. This looks way easier than taking everything apart to do it in a press. Thanks for the vid.
Glad to help

Great video and definitely an easier and faster way. If I ever replace my wheel bearings, I am following your method.
Right on
to press back the hub did you put pressure on the outer part of the bearing inside or the inner part of the bearing?
My 96 tacoma 4wd and my 96 2wd 4runner have spanner nuts that hold the hub in place i seen no video yet where there trucks have the nut

I just did it yesterday with the hub grappler and I didn't get the brace stuck on the hub either, Maybe I was lucky as him lol...
what bearing press puller/presser is that ??

You really don't even need a tool to install the snap ring. you can do it by hand or maybe just a screwdriver.
What year 4runner was worked on for this video?
looks like 3rd gen 4runners, from how the lower ball joint is placed
Time at yota dealer for this task is 3 hours to 3.50 hours
good vid have this on my to do list, have the hydraulic press and the hub bearing kit so i'll see which way i''ll use.
8:10 ... You damage the boot there doing that?? The slopshop damaged my otr end boot doing just that with a bfn
No I did not damage the tie rod boot. Only way the boot gets damage is if you miss the knuckle and hit the tie rod/boot
@@wrenchingonthespectrum is that the LBJ or the knuckle?
I don't understand what you are asking about
@@wrenchingonthespectrum it looks like you are whacking on the LBJ and not the knuckle
Were can you get that tool to remove the hub
I got mine off the Cornwell tool truck. You can find similar tools from Amazon but I can't speak for their quality. It's call a hub grappler
Where do you get parts from?
Local parts store
Just replacing the whole assembly is much easier
It is, but it's $800 for the entire hub assembly vs. $90 for the bearing
