    I'm sorry I didn't understand .
    How is ther outer diameter of the inner hub greater than the inner diameter of hub ring..??
    The inner hub fits inside the hub ring, right ?
    Inner diameter of hub ring should be greater than outer diameter of inner hub

    And use a small thin flat blade screwdriver in the expansion slot in the cone washers to get them out rather than bash on the outside of the hub & distort and wreck the freewheel hub.

      just hit end stud wit brash drift, SUPER easy, no damage at ll

      @@notsure9079 That's the stooge way & not the way it's done by those who know better. Doing it that way will only loosen the stud & stretch the threads and most likely will have no affect on the cone washer. Toyota recommends the removal method I explained, it works every time.

      @@dustyfarmer It works prefect, did it this weekend, & dozens of times before. never a problem & have seen people do this over 20 years with no damage.
      it is the suggested method on about every Off-Road Toyota forum I have seen. you can do the tapered punch as Toyota suggests, it will work too. thanks for the insult too, that ......

      @@notsure9079 It's not the correct method as I've outlined & it doesn't work most times. I've been a mechanic for over 45 years now & I've seen plenty of butchers at work & seen the damage and witness marks left behind & have had to fix their F'ups numerous times. I wouldn't let you put air in my tyres let alone try to get cone washers out without stuffing things with your bash on it till it moves method.

      @@notsure9079 The bash on it method your so much in love with is also the leading cause of the rear axle or front hub studs shearing off under load. The stud threads & studs become loose in the steel hub and allow axle flange movement and load to be placed on the locating pins & even though they appear to be torqued correctly and pretty soon the small axle flange locator pins are doing all the rotational holding and they fail under load, usually miles from home somewhere out the bush.

    is there any difference between a Toyota hub and a samurai hub?

    • @lowrangeoffroad1
      @lowrangeoffroad1  8 років тому +2

      +Loring Giles Yes, they are basically the same. If they are both Aisin of course. The only difference would be the splines on the inner hub. But as far as the disassembly and reassembly is concerned, they are the same.

    and you have to bolt on hub bodies before the locking end, no room for socket with locking hub bolted on LOL as me how I know.
    LOL yes I was replacing stock slugs so did not think as I bolted hubs together. I has to glass bead a few other internal parts as my ebay hubs said nothing about 1 being rusted & corroded in the add? odd think he forgot, LOL
    anyone that does not have the sandblast cabinet from HF, go but one, do the mods you see on youtube, you can thank me later :)
