One day Cornes is bagging Fremantle relentlessly for having two highly paid ruckman. The next day he is bagging Melbourne because they didn't keep Grundy on as an injury back up.
There’s some nuance to this that you’re not picking up because Cornes makes you emotional. He doesn’t think them having two ruckman was good. He was saying/implying that… they made a bad decision and therefore made your bed (by buying another expensive ruckman), they would have just been better off to just accept the bad decision than to stack another bad decision on top of it by letting him go to a top for contender rival for a bag of chips…
Harrison Petty and Kozzi Pickett will help up forward, enough for them to make finals, but yes with that forward line they’re not winning the premiership. And they’re only a serious Gawn injury and/or Oliver relapse away from missing finals.
Love the overreacting from 1 game. IT was on that tiny oval with wet conditions and our fwds all out. As a dees fan Im not super confident, but get those fwd players back, use billings as a proper HFF or what was the point of bringing him to use as a sub?
@@coreyjones7249 Not a melb fan whatsoever, Brayshaw was one of their best ball users, one of the best on in the granny and a top 3 brownlow finisher.. I'd say hes a pretty bloody big out.

I agree with Corne, the damage was already done. Did Melbourne have him for four years? they could of dragged him through another season to show the competition they want more for him
How is Josh Schache on an afl list? Some blokes give it everything and get cut yet this guy is just coasting along, has anyone ever seen him have a good game?
Swans kids arent kids. They are proven performers regardless. It's not like they came from no where. I'd say they are better than Adams and Parker who are ageing.
Parker is still an essential part of that midfield. Is the Landcruiser of that midfield so the rolls royces in Errol and Chad can do their jobs. Rowbottom is picking up on where Parker left off but Adams is more of the same. I guess he's more a role player in this team now. I think our midfield without those 2 is more dynamic but with Grundy's tapwork, I would love to see Parker do his in and under work with an A grade ruckman
Sydney made some ruck trade blunders: Nankervis was traded to Richmond so they could keep Naismith as their first ruck. Naismith was delisted in 2023 and is now playing with Richmond. Congratulations to Sam, he has overcome 3 knee reconstructions. Wish Sam all the best but Sam and Grundy as a swans ruck duo would be leading the competition.
I agree with what he is saying. He is saying that they needed to be tougher at the trade table and not let him go to a key competitor for almost nothing when they don't have a backup to an ageing Gawn. They needed to either get more for him or keep him to give Gawn an easier season so that he can peak for finals. BTW I don't support either of these teams so I'm not being biased. I thought it was a steal when the trade went through last year. All Australian ruck for a bag of chips.
Swans have made some ruck trade blunders. Nankervis was traded to Richmond so they could keep Sam Naismith as first ruck. Naismith was delisted and is now playing for Richmond. Sam has had 3 knee reconstructions, so congratulations for getting back on the paddock. Naismith and Grundy as a swans ruck pair would be close to best in the comp. So would Nankervis and Naismith.
Sydney's initial ball movement was good, but both teams really fumbled the ball. Can't blame the conditions, this was really an ordinary display of skills. Can't see either team being a Grand Finalist. Both teams are going to be slaughtered on turnovers when The Pies, Brisbane or GWS get hold of them on the larger grounds.
The conditions weren’t conducive to clean ball handling. The ball would have been like a cake of soap. You have no idea what you’re talking about … 😂🤡😘
Cornes seems to not mention reality, for example. The players managers have alot of control and if they want a trade and if they don't cooperate then the next player that is with the same manager won't let a trade happen, or God forbid they try take other players from the club that they have listed.. think something similar is happening with a certain player manager and freo atm.
I dunno if “bashing max” is in the spirit of the game. I want to see the best players, playing at their best. Checking off the ball needs to be looked at
Kane is right, Max was showing signs of nearing the end let year, Grundy should have become number one ruckman and Max goes forward with short spells in the ruck....the guys 33 now....how long did you think he could play for at a high level?
Melbourne were lucky to make the eight last year. They won't be making it this year. Between this mess with Gawn and the drugs, they're going to fall over. No forwards outside Fristch either. Big fail.
They finished top four - where all 18 teams are trying to get every year - then lost two finals by narrow margins. I think that may be a bit better than just "lucky to make the eight". Yes, let's see how they go this year.
Melbourne lost mainly cos they used their sub, and then in the blink of an eye, bowser went off. When ever you see this happen, most of the time the opposition capitalizes on their rotations instantly, and the game gets away from you, and you don't have the energy you need to win. If they had the option to keep Grundy, and gave him away, the that is extremely silly. The funny part about it was, Grundy began running to the right places as a center half forward, and then they didn't play him after that. He shows the first sign of promise that he belongs at CHF, and then dumped him for finals. I think what might have happened is, they rated him based on being not fully fit. And didn't rate him. The problem also is, Melbourne were the best midfield in the comp with Brayshaw in the team. But with him out, they come right back to the pack. And now I rate them around eight midfield in the comp. Grundy and Brayshaw is a double whammy. It's really good to see two defenders come through. McVee and Howe.
Love the dynamic of this show. Kane rocks up every week with the stupidest take you've ever heard and David tries to talk him into a halfway reasonable position
After watching last night you can see Melbourne are a team of individuals who try do to much yeah it’s good to be a individual for individual success but they won’t win another flag but that’s just my opinion
If you can prove a player at any stage led with the head then all compo claims should be void. Selwood if he suffers anything it’s because he head butted his way to his early premierships
Massive forward issues.. no McAdams, Petty, Melksham, Brown, Smith, pickets, McDonald... All forwards! In 21 Mellsham and Smith wernt even top 23 and now we would be happy with any.. hopefully Petty comes back and is the Savior..
