As a West Australian I'd rather listen to sen sport Melbourne because of the lack of West Coast talk, Eagles is all anyone in the media talks about over here, gets a bit boring
Over the years Geelong has been the masters of changing game styles. in 2005/6 there was a defensive flood, until Geelong went all out attack and won in 2007. They beat the Collingwood/StKilda press in 2009 and 2011, and then in 2022 won again by changing their own style to be ultra attacking.
The biggest change was around 2015 when teams started using a 25m kick across the body to get a player to open up the field ahead of them and beat the squeeze
Great coverage - I have a question - should this be about coming back when you have shown that you have dealt with the issue and proved that you have things in place for this not to re-occur? I mean you can sit out 18 games and not have learned or changed.
At the moment, the system (formations) and the difference between them, is very superficial. The real question is: what sides have Grand Final Winning Systems?
I also admire Buckleys knowledge but I wish that all media commentators would stop bringing in America isms. Our game is synonymous to Australia, we are not playing American football with offense & defence. Our positions are backs, half backs centres half forwards and forwards. I'm not as enamored with Buck's style as so many appear to be. Too hyper analytical and verbose. He waffles at times when it is unnecessary. His press conferences were the same.
