The bottom line is this, Richmond supporters: Do you REALLY believe Martin, Lynch, Vlaustin, Prestia, Rioli, McIntosh and Pickett will be part of the next finals run? Make the tough call. Trade them all (if you can), suffer the pain for 4-5 years, but have a good/great core group through the draft to provide a stable platform going forward. Personally, I would add Taranto & Hopper to this mix to bring in GENUINE higher draft picks. If you don't, there is 20 years of pain ahead.
A part of 'the pain' is a younger team (assuming you trade is you ibdicated) - will perhaps loose the confidence of knowing how to win if yhmmthey end up low on the ladder. I.e. Geelong's last ten - fifteen years of remaining competitive without complete rebuild.
The point is. Is this list going to challenge for a premiership this year or 3 years in the future? Probably not. What do you do about it? Do a Mitchell full rebuild, partial rebuild? At some point you have to do a rebuild.
