Hayden's right, the batting unit isn't proactive enough. They just start blocking for the sake of it these days even if they're 200 ahead. If head or marsh don't come off they're plodding along at 2/ over, the opposition never get put under pressure. That's what I loved about Hayden Langer Ponting Gilchrist, even Damien martyn didn't exactly score slowly. Clarke took the game on as well
Love this from Haydos! The story about the King was epic and had me laughing at one moment and crying the next because it suddenly came to me that he's not here anymore. And I love how you described Punter, but I feel like there's a human, vulnerable side to him that gets neglected because of how great and competitive he was as a cricketer. I really wish they had these amazon prime docs from back in the day and we could see how wonderful these Australian teams were from the mid 90s upto late 00s, not just on the pitch but off it as well.

Meg Lanning, Steve Smith, Alyssa Healy & Pat Cummins' team might not be as highlighted as Steve Waugh's & Ponting's Team but Men have achieved equal if not more and certainly women's team have achieved far better than their predecessors or any other team in any sport ever. One thing is sure that the new generation of the Australian Women's and Men's Team is far more logical, progressive & knowledgeable (on global issues) and far less bullying hence better humans than a lot of their racist bullying predecessors. Certainly a lot better than Allan border's team and Chapplle's Team. Obviously there were some rare brilliant individuals in previous eras like Melinda, Don, Ian, Greg,& Kim etc but the process has started in Steve's & Belinda's era and the new generation has reached far as long as better humans since then.

Now the Englishmen are confused - got stuck between bazzball and traditional context-based cricket. Need for some rewiring I guess. Look at the Indian batters - jaiswal max 6ers ever but cautious when he had to be. Not entertaining? Wasnt Bazzball. Now don't say like Duckett that Jaiswal copied Bazzball 🤦
