You could also use a dynamic EQ to side chain the fundamental of the kick to the bass so the clashing frequency dips every time the kick hits.
That way you’re not losing low end by permantly taking out the frequency on the bass.
I'm definitely a bass sidechainer for that very reason

2 questions:
1)How did you decide the frequency crossover point?
2)How might you treat the Mono & Stereo on your @Dangerous Music "2 Bus+"?
This is similar to the same strategy I use. I track and record the low back in through my Lin2A, route both in an Aux bus, and use NLS or black box. It depends on how I feel. I learned malting from JJ and Dave as well on MWTM.
That low and high bass technique, it's used by most EDM producers. It gives you better control of your low end.

You are so good at explaining these complex stuff! 👍🏼 Regarding collision of bass and kick, can’t we use sidechain to avoid that issue?
Sidechain is good but cannot be a crutch. You gotta learn how to properly cut frequencies in the bass, especially if it’s heavy like a 808. It’ll make the individual notes playing sound more intelligible and will be a smoother side chain to the kick
I like what you did at 15:40 i would have atleast sidchained that freq to the kick to only duck when the kick is going but, thanks good shii! fr
I always try to use Dynamic EQ to have the bass quickly duck out of the way of the kick when it hits and pop back up just as quickly afer it's gone. Rarely ever have collision issues with that approach.

im surprised you didnt mention the sidechain into soothe 2 trick that jaycen joshua uses. it apparently has the fasted attack (if you leave the quality at level 1) of all compressors according to JJ. Works VERY well

Thank you for the tips. I have a question regarding the bass tip where 2 tracks are made with low and high frequencies to compress. Is it not just the same to use a Multiband Dynamic compressor and then set the desired frequency splits?

Awesome! This is very helpful indeed! I wanted to know: are you still using the same buss for mixing your drums and bass together as you have in past tutorials or are you using separate busses for mixing both instrument sections into the master fader?

would using mid-side EQ do the same technique without duplicating the bass? cut the low end out of the sides of the mix up to 300 hz and boost frequencies you like below that only in the middle of the mix? and then EQ the high frequencies to the side? Typically mastering engineers do this I think, but what if you did it in the mix? I think depending on the type of song though this technique would be extremely necessary...
As far is mottling the bass is concerned do you think a multi band compressor could work equally as well?
What about for instrumentals, could I still use this?

No I’m not a big fan of linear phase eq especially when it comes to my low end stuff. It sometimes lessens the impact of my low end

it's a perception thing bud lol it happens but it's also a technicality thing when translating sound on different stereo speakers like cars, TVs, phone or portable speakers, etc.
