Man, I had this idea from you sayin something about a reverb bus, so I just routed that to efx, then made a drum, vocals, dubs, and instruments buses then did mixes on those buses. I'm really a fan of this style of mixing, I tend to switch up my style of mixing to acquire different techniques to apply to my own style. I hear classical mixing is mad wild..
I have been doing this for years and I find this out by my self next thing it give you room to do more without putting your pc or mac proseser under pressure. 👌🏾
Great stuff Devon, as usual. You are the best on YT. Another idea for masking would be to side chain your Vocal group to the MUSIC group track and have the vocal subtlety duck the music when the vocals dig in, making more room for them. You can also send sub groups to compression busses where you can increase or decrease compression for each subgroup (Michael Brauner style) You can increase the compression by using the bus fader. Finally I think you can also automate your sub groups, and reduce or increase volume in different parts
Thank u Devvon for all u do for the music community! Can’t wait to grab your plug ins once they drop. I’m curious as to how u record your audio for these tutorials while showing the visual of another session. I’m assuming you have 2 separate computers recording simultaneously? Cheers fellow audio nerd!
Thank you! extremely helpful!!! Don't know why, but I forget about it often and then surprise why everything sounds dirty. Thank you for reminding about this gorgeous technique!!!
So I do 3 mix buss’ but I always sent my bass and/or 808 to the instrument(music) buss. I definitely am now going to try and separate bass out of music and sending all my bass to my sub main track. HMD has quickly become one of my favorite guys to watch on YT
sup bro nice video deff helped n picked up some tips thanks again ..your plug in looks sick but hope it has a dark theme for us vision impaired ppl just a lil wish it would really help us out wen it comes out
This video wasn't about how to EQ, so I get it, but when you notched out the "music" if using midside processing, you possibly could have notched out just the mid and boosted the side slightly. Also, pan your snare 1 or 2 notches to the left, where its not noticeable to the listener, but it will remove a lot of the competing frequencies between the snare and the vocals and makes the vocals cut through better.
Great Stuff There, But Should You Use Your Kick Frequencies Within Your Subgroup That Has Bass Frequencies, Since They Will Be Somewhat Close In The Lower Frequency Range? Everything Else You Mentioned I Can See How That All Makes Sense Thou.👍🏽👍🏽
This is VERY awesome and validating information! I'm using Studio One and use this technique when mixing my hip hop instrumental music. I actually route all drums and bass together into the same buss for achieving better bass frequency management via multiband compression and dynamic eq plugins. I have a question for you regarding frequency masking: have you considered using Wavesfactory Trackspacer on your Music buss and sidechaining the Vocals buss therein to achieve the same goal? Just curious your thoughts. Thanks for the awesome information!
When u guys mix are u guys using a mixbus to process all vocals or are u guys processing them individually ? 2. When and if u guys are using mixbuses, are u still outputting those into sub groups ?
The HMD Rosetta EQ will be released 2023
Can't wait🔥🔥🔥🔥
Congratulations!
Congratulations bro!!!

Fabfilter can absolutely be used dynamically and duck the vocals via sidechaining.
Opened my eyes (Ears) Once AGAIN !! HMD Thank U so much for them Tipps & Tricks Over all These YEARS !!!
That song is fyaaaaaaa!!!!
Great tutorial bro! Subgroups are such a time saver and many are not aware of its benefits or application
Couldn't agree more!

Mixing is like cooking a supe. The more spices you add, the more flavor it has. 🤤 Bon appetit guys!👌

I switch between adding kicks to bass or drums depending on the kick I'm using

Bro release this record as a multitrack mix. I need more records like this to practice mixing on!!!!
I don't know about the results 😂 but I already doing this without knowing this is very helpful Thanx devvon for clearing my query 🙏🏽
@HelpMeDevvon_ Thankyou so much spammer 😂 I don't want.
I know it's off topic but What's the brand of that Hoody?
Did you replace fab saturation for the new Waves Tube
Witch do you think sounds better
Or better yet can we get a saturation debate or comparison
Song is fire and techniques useful 🔥is this setup on your template your selling?
Soothe 2 music to the vocals!
wow man great vid
when should we use mono and stereo plugins?
Devon, is this the equivalent of creating stacks in logic? Or routing several tracks into a bus?
Yes
When u guys mix are u guys using a mixbus to process all vocals or are u guys processing them individually ?
2. When and if u guys are using mixbuses, are u still outputting those into sub groups ?
Hey Devon! I have a request. Can you review Cradle's The Spirit? I haven't found a lot of helpful info about the plugin itself.
I’ll check it out!
Yo devvon u still using the ua-710 preamp?
How would u apply this on a 2 track session
👀 you need a beta tester for that plug-in sir??😊😊
Sure I do DM ME!
waddup 🐐
Is this also the Dave Pensado Bus method?
It’s technically called Brauerizing
Peace, i'm interested in networking.
Can we get some gossip about the Rosetta
At least from what I see, none of your sub group busses are routing out to the stereo master. I’m confused. 11:16
They call the Magna a SERIES with TWO plugins? ?
I was thinking there are more plugins coming
@@Waynyce yeah could be, granted
👀
Wait don’t just bypass that ProQ3 hack you mentioned. 😅
Hello brother im indian please help me brother

If you're not doing subgroups you're going to be SUBmerged in unnecessary work😢
