I'm not an artist, more of an engineer. It's still fascinating to me how the human body takes advantage of these mechanical joints to allow us to move. The human body is an incredible machine
I didn’t even realize this video was for artists until he started talking about assignments lmao
Yeah I didn’t even read the title I just saw some joints and clicked
Well, not only human body. Animals have pretty same mechanics (not all of course).
Bro it sounds like this is what a villain would say.
Aye man. engineering is an art form.
1:47 - hinge
2:51 - pivot
4:08 - ball and socket
5:08 - Ellipsoid
6:06 - Saddle
7:30 - Plane
Hope this helps if you want to review the video or if you just want to know about a specific joint!
Thank you
Thanks
Thank you
Thanks
nice
I like how detailed this guy at explaining with all of his 3D animations and imagery, up to the point that it makes me feel like I'm studying to become an orthopedic doctor instead of an artist.
This is where the knowledges belons to several fields
There are many people in med school/soon to be in med school watching this video, dw
i find it funny that I use to watch your videos when I was a beginner artist a few years ago. Now here I am still watching your anatomy videos as i study to become a doctor. I actually prefer your artist-oriented anatomy videos as a good intro since medicine-oriented anatomy videos tend to make the simplest things hard to wrap your head around.
Aw that’s actually kinda motivating…thanks. I’m an artist myself but have trouble in studying sciences ;_;
@@drownedinnostalgia3433 You can do it!
Yep true. One of the perks of animation videos is that they show us what exactly happens inside our body. Like they take us into their own world which the tons of description couldn't do. Pictures are better restored than words!
Along with making amateur artists into professional ones, you are helping so many medical students achieve their dream! Thank you so much Sir!
Okk
Not only medical students but also medical aspirants😍😍😘
@@sreedharshankar8092 all the best I hope you achieve what you dream for!
@RipMudafuka69 MLG sorry but this was educational for medschool.
@RipMudafuka69 MLG In the end of the day, we study anatomy body and its mechanical movement, art student or not. Not surprised actually medical student stumble upon this vid.
This is So EASY to understand. Thank you!
I'm an artist and also a Medical student.
Your video really helps me a lot for my work!
I'm glad to hear that

I've been studying human anatomy and found a great resource at Anatomy Blueprint Pro (google it if you're interested)
hi guys, the best results that ive ever had was by following the Anatomy Blueprint Pro (just google it) without a doubt the most helpful info that I've tried.
Emily Ecker Thanks for the information.
HAHAHAHA
Wonderful video Proko! There were a few things I didn't know - for instance, the clavicular/acromial joint type. I also didn't know that the carpals functioned as saddle joints. Very interesting!
You just unlocked a few curiosities with regards to other parts of the body as well that I'm going to go research.
A big thank you!
Hello mister Adam, I guess it was recommended to me because of you
Wow I really needed this. Really hope there are more lessons like this. It's so enjoyable yet helpful

Amazing video, I have never watched more satisfyingly perfect anatomy video that doesn’t leave me with all questions. Enjoyed it so much, thanks!
Amazing! Not only incredibly helpful for my anatomy class but also a million times more entertaining than the provided material. Thanks!!
Thank you SO much for this entertaining, imaginative video! 🙂 I am in an anatomy and physiology class and really needed something dynamic and animated to harness these concepts. 🙏🏻
The look on that skeleton when his shoulder was displaced.. priceless
The look imma get when I get my anatomy exam results back
😂😂🤩
How can i meet you

By far the clearest illustration of joint types I've found; I actually use this to teach biology it's so good.
This video is amazing, Im an artist who got into medical school and this is really helping me understand how joints really work.
Thank you♡♡♡
I find it wild that my anatomy teacher used your video today when I've watched your stuff for so long, and I'm not taking an art course, I'm studying nursing! Thank you for your easy-to-understand videos
I am the owner of many Anatomy for Art books, but because of your gift of presentation, knowledge and a fun personality. You take the lead!! Thank you for the fun and amazingly detailed way to learn.
Love these videos, thank you so much for making them :)
Learning the skeleton has been the most helpful part in drawing the figure, as well as blocking. Great video, definitely giving a like and saving it to a playlist!
And after hundreds videos, pdfs and books about joints' anatomy, finally something that is explaining very well how the joints are actually working.... well done man.
Man I’ve an anatomy exam and this video was a big help!! Thank you 💜
Very well presented!! Thank you for the anatomy study lesson :)
Never seen so informative and genius video. With the animation and explanation, it's the quickest possible way to your brain!
The content was so well presented that I was both engaged and felt like I was watching something a child could understand. That's some good learning.
Love this for Anatomy basics... thank-you so much! :)
This feels like an "explain it to me like I'm 5" anatomy lesson for artists
And I appreciate that.
It was complicated before I watched this amazing lesson! Thank you so much
literally i was too confused about types and movement of joints. after watching this video my all confusions are clear. thaks alot Proko
I am from Bangladesh. literally I liked this video it's too useful for me to get all information together.Thanks.

Never knew that anatomy is also for artists. You are a great teacher!
never twisting my forearm without imagining my fucking bones flopping over each other again.
thank you
Now flap and squeeze them together or try rotating so fast that they colide with a "clunk" sound.
Thank you, these are such amazing and simple illustrations! XD

I had a smile on my face the entire video. The human body is so incredibly interesting and cool bro, one of my favorite things to learn ab for sure
Omg 😂😂😂 Only funny and didactic way to understand joints!!! Thank you from a med student 👍🏼
Susan R. Are you a sexy nurse yet?
Why a nurse? She said she is a med student

even when not used as an art tutorial this is an interesting video about human anatomy
Enjoyed it thoroughly, veryy well explained :)
8 hours of anatomy lec and I understood nothing .
Thanks for such a wonderful explanation in just some mins .
Can't thank you enough.
You made me love anatomy ☺
Man !!! you're literally doing a great great job. stay blessed. BTW that shoulder dislocation was a funny part lol

I'm not an artist, but this video was very useful for my science exam! Thank you!
thank you very much i learn many things
Thank God man, I needed this for my science project due today!
Awesome explanation 👌
Thanks a ton!
This helped me greatly to identify and comprehend the joints and their structure.. You're obliviously helping many more medical students out there 😊
woow, so much work! Great job Proko. I feel like I want to spend some money :)
I have studied these joints in medical school and in martial arts training. This is the best explanation I have ever seen.
I was audio texting when I commented the first time.
I want to come back on here ( hope you do read this ) to tell you that you have such a gift of teaching.
Maybe you should target more than artists with your videos.
I can’t draw a stick man!
I am training to be a personal trainer and came across your video.
I am so impressed!
Nice video!!!
But the connection between the pubic bones called *PUBIC SYMPHYSIS* contains Fibrous Cartilage and we cant say that it doesn't move at all because in female during pregnancy the pubic symphysis expands and protects the uterus!!!
The smile he gave when he was talking about the hinge joints made me laugh so hard lolllll
dont forget the amazing saddle joint thumb demonstration
sasch 466 thumb joint
Vanessa Zhang me too😆
Vanessa Zhang 😂😂
For Simplified Anatomy from examination point of view . Search for ' Angelina Issac ' in Google.
She has a UA-cam channel as well as Instagram page where the notes of lectures are provided. She also explains physiology well.
Dr. Proko for the win!
Art and Medical students: "Wow this was very informative!!"
Stoners: "i think i pressed the wrong video"
Wait, i watch it for my anatomy test😂and at last i know that I'm watching a tutorial for artists. Because he explains it like for medical students i didn't have a clue about that. Its so gooodd
"For assigment find these joints on yourself and explore the movement" :-) dude, what do you we have been doing all this time. Great work, clear descriptions and examples.
Very nice explanation
I wish I'd had this video when I was in osteology/forensics in college back in the day. When I decided to learn to draw I was so glad to have studied bones. Fave bone is the sphenoid but it's not one focused on by artists (except zombie artists.) Still a fun bone to draw.
I am from Holland so when I red: 6 types of Joints? a big smile came to my face :)
Ofcourse I know what you mean are the attachments of the wiggely moving parts of our bodies! hahahaha
(I do not smoke joints by the way) and your tutorials are great!

It really helped a lot. Thank you.
Thank you so much for making this hardest topic much easier to remember!

I didn't know that Skeletal system also contains the eyes. Thanks!

After hopping around and finally realizing I needed to start from the beginning and take my time, here I am in 2021 as the thousandth comment here. My journey begins
same here, you're not alone :D
a lot of fun while learning thanks man.
I love you, Proko.
Hee..I need that 5:03 skeleton with me at home..that's so hilarious! Thank you Proko.
I'm growing more and more fond of skelly
Omg. Thank you very much for sharing this. So clear! 💙👍😊
Thanks bro for such an informative video
my opinion is: our beautiful structures lead to the perfect builder. just like the signeture lead to who wrote it.
thank you for the amazing video
Watch it few hours before exam💀
Phenomenal modeling!
In nursing school and I have a test tomorrow and I feel confident about all the joints bc of this video! Thanks
0:38 not true, Pubic bones have an amphiarthrotic joint. They allow slight movement.
Correct; the pubic symphysis allows slight movement. example: during labor.
because that's what artists tend to draw.... women in labor
BAROQUEnCONdumb Jumping and walking too sometimes to cushion the motion lol
interesting. you learn something new everyday
@@R3KTANGL3 ... Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Guess I gotta learn how to roll these.
looked for sth like this a long time, thanks :D
I JUST SUPERLOVED THIS VIDEO😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I initially watched this for art reference. Never thought I'd come across it again in med school!!

Such great explanations. I'm sure it help many medical students. Wish this vid would show up in my recommended earlier. Unfortunately had to find it out the hard way
