That was an odd comment by that other reviewer in your video, referring to not using the mopping feature on the Omni. My house has a mixture of carpet and tile floors and the robot is smart enough to vacuum everything when the map mopping pads are not installed and when they are installed, it only mops the tile.
That’s actually our camera man! :) yes, just he has multiple small areas of hard floors with the majority of carpet, so he didn’t think it would be worth carrying the robot around between areas.
i think the app in the ecovvacs is buggy and in Thailand the customer service of ecovacs official is very bad so i prefer the s7 maxv edit : also my deebot t9 with the dtof didnt navigatte as well as the lds on my neato d7
It's probably better to run one at a time. Possibly messing up its navigation with another thing moving around the room at the same time. I have the omni t8, was thinking about upgrading, but I don't know if price per performance is worth it. I do like the option the s7 mop raises up. But they really disservice this vac by making it base station very ugly. It looks like a storage station for dog food. Other than that the s7 is impressive but I can't do the base station looks.
I have a indoor poolhouse with a full size swimming pool with water inside of it all year round. Can I use it to wash and vacuum the poolhouse floors without falling into the swimming pool if I buy it?
What is the approach if you have two floors? can you configure the device to have two different maps? Is moving the base to the other floor good enough?
hey mate , for the x 1 - what if it had already learnt the map .... but then i wanted to change the base station to another part of the house ? (where the map is also learnt). Do i have to do the entire set up again ? or would it just know the new base station's location automatically? thanks!
I'm trying to find out if WIFI can be disabled in any of these models ? I turn on WIFI very infrequently and don't want to have it on all the time ( sensitive to radiation )
I have seen other brand emptying dust directly into a waste water bin. You just need to dispose the dirty water without needing a dust bag which I think is much better.
HI I noted the comment that the single brush of S7 makes no difference in the vacuuming performance vs X1 double brush. I would have thought double brush would have higher cleaning efficiency at a given vacuum swipe?
That’s just the side brush which sweeps things into the path of the main brush and suction. The robot always aligns with the right side and cleans anti-clockwise so it makes no real difference :)
Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I was wondering if the Ecovacs X1 Omni always starts out with dry mop pads when vacuuming?I have hard wood floors with lots of rugs. I want to be able to have the rugs and floors vacuumed and when the mopping cycle starts I would have the rugs sectioned off on the map so only the hard wood floors get mopped. Is this possible? Does the mop attachment stay on throughout vacuuming? Therefore taking the mop attachment off wouldn’t be necessary?? Just a bit confused as to why the mop pads need to be taken off, I would be grateful if someone could answer this 🤗
They are washed before cleaning normally, therefore they’ll wet the carpet so the default setting is to avoid the carpet when the pads are attached. You could turn this off but you won’t want to. Dreame or Roborock have options that lift the mop up on carpet. :)
The mops of the deebot omni can't be lifted and have no suspension which is a big disadvantage because if the volume/thickness of the mops reduces with age, they loose floor-contact So you better take the Dreame l10s ultra which can lift it's suspended mops on carpets and can dry the mops and is much cheaper then the roborock.
Thanks for the review! A question for you :) Are you aware of any similar model, with this kind of features, with an input of 220V? My plan is to buy one of these in the US, but I need it to support 220 voltage. I already checked with CS, and the Roborock does not allow 220 while the X1 does. My only concern is about the auto-lift for the mops since I have a carpet... I still think it may not work anyways with the Roborock since the carpet is long hair.. but ... If you are aware of any other model would be awesome. Thanks!!
My version is on 230V so that would work. As far as I’m aware, if you can buy a European, Asian or Oceanian version of it then it should work with an adapter or new cable.
Thank you for creating this video and sharing your experience with both vacuums. Does the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra leave residue or wetness from the pad onto the rug?
It normally is pretty good. On thick carpets there may be a little bit. There also may be a little bit when it first raises then mop as it transitions. It hasn’t left marks on my white carpets though so seems pretty good. Hope this helps!!
We have a fake wood floor, like a laminate.....it swells if water gets between the planks. So I'm concerned about the amount of water that the mops put down. What's worse is there is a bevel gap feature between planks, so the mop action may result in water collecting between the planks. Would this be an issue with either of these?
I think it’s a bit risky if it’s super sensitive to leaks etc. they normally don’t disperse very much water compared with mopping by hand, but you can see that in the video so your guess is probably as good as mine!
You said the X1 is a little quieter. We currently have the r**mba i7+, and on our hardwoods, it is very loud. Could you say in general, if one of these is quieter than that one?
can I take the vacuum upstairs without the station to clean upstairs by adding an extra map for the 1st floor? My huge concern is that it is expensive, buying two, one for the ground floor and one for the 1st floor is a significant investment.
Which would be best for dog hair (two golden retrievers) and sand? We have 99% hardwood floors with one formal carpeted lounge. Also can you turn the moping feature off, so the robot just vacuums?
They should both be fine in hard floors with pet hair, it’s much tougher on carpets for obvious reasons. Yes on both, however easier on the MaxV Ultra.
Hi. House is all hardwood floors with areas rugs, but not a big house. We have 2 dogs and love the vacuum/mop abilities of both (and possibly even the Dreame or S8). Can you program them to vacuum only, as we want to vacuum daily but only mop once a month? I'd prefer to not have to remove the mop pads and just set it in its program. I'm also happy to wait for the S8 if it's worth it. Thanks :)
I have a house with 3 different levels. If I'm prepared to physically move it between levels, will the robot and app manage on the different levels? Thanks
Show the Robo rock doing the heavy cleanup test and also have white or whitish carpet as part of your cleaning. Does the wet mop pad drag across and potentially stain or leave residue (grape juice or red wine etc) on the white carpet? It would be great if you can create a cleaning path for the hardwood then have it dock and self clean its pad before immediately going to the carpet. I have lighter(almost white) large area rugs in the bedrooms with hardwood etc.
It might still hit the carpet. It really depends on how think your carpet is, basically, if it isn't thin carpet (4mm) the wet mop pad will drag on it.
Also, you could set cleaning areas with 2 consecutive cleaning schedules- mop first, then it would return to the dock and clean. And maybe ~30 minutes later (depending on the size of your house) set it to run a vacuum pass. Or, you could offset them by a few hours to give the pad a chance to dry.
I don't get one thing...does omni have a water reservoir or only roborock has? I understand that roborock keeps the pads humid for as long as it has water in the reservoir but what about omni?
My main concern about these are the cameras and voice activation (for the Deebot at least, not sure about the roborock). The fact that it's hooked up and available to view online means I would have to setup a separate wifi for it with no internet access.
🤞🤞 would love to win this would be such a help for our family. Such a juggle and I hate having dirty floors but have had to accept it more often than not
I have had the S7 MAXV for about a week and I hate it. The darned thing gets stuck at least 4 to 5 times per cleaning. The mop feature is horrible in that all it does is leave thin streaks everywhere. The Roborock "help" center told me to reduce mop time to 10 minutes to see if problem was solved, and nope not solved. I have pictures that I sent to them and wish I could put them here. I have actually asked to return the unit. They claim they will give me a full refund. Prior to this I had the Shark Robot from a TV ad and it was much better at vacuuming and I loved the bagless dust bin. The Bags for the Roborock can break you just buying those...so expensive! I then saw the Roborock and loved that it can vaccum and mop without you having to get up and ever empty or clean anything. So, bottom line, I DO like the Roborock claims of being able to mop AND vacuum. If only it didn't get stuck multiple times a day, mop at least a LITTLE bit instead of streaks, and lower prices for bags or make a bagless model for dust bin. I just didn't find it worth the $1400 price tag with Shark Robot coming in at only $500 with tax.
Thanks for sharing Deborah! As you can see, most people are in the opposite camp so possibly you got a lemon, but sometimes one robot just works better in one house but not another. At least you can get a refund so not a waste of money :)
@@RobomateTV I wish there were a way to upload photos. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?? Maybe after my refund I will go with the X1 Omni? I'd rather remove the pads when not in use than pay that amount of money for streaking horrible mopping. Thank you for the comparison. Love your review.

Hello. Question to Ecovacs X1 Omni owners. How long does it take for the vacuum cleaner to charge from 0-5% to 100%
Very Good video .. Thank You !!
No problem!! Thanks for the comment
I want and need this in my life!
I have used both and very satisfied with Roborock
Thoughts on the X1 too?
@@RobomateTV keeps loosing wifi connection (getting Confused) lots of re mapping… mop stops working after 2 months …
i think the app in the ecovvacs is buggy and in Thailand the customer service of ecovacs official is very bad so i prefer the s7 maxv
edit : also my deebot t9 with the dtof didnt navigatte as well as the lds on my neato d7
I've currently got an ecovac neo. And the app is terrible.
The ecovac app is aweful at dividing & combining map sections. Wasted too much time on it...
I have the Ecovacs T8 and the app is horrible. I constantly need to redo the map and all of the settings.
Thank you! I am looking for a dupe of the s7. Too expensive. Need it to vacuum and mop
Consider the Dreame D10 or Z10 in that case
It's probably better to run one at a time. Possibly messing up its navigation with another thing moving around the room at the same time. I have the omni t8, was thinking about upgrading, but I don't know if price per performance is worth it. I do like the option the s7 mop raises up. But they really disservice this vac by making it base station very ugly. It looks like a storage station for dog food. Other than that the s7 is impressive but I can't do the base station looks.
The s8 fixed this. My condolences to your wallet
I have a indoor poolhouse with a full size swimming pool with water inside of it all year round. Can I use it to wash and vacuum the poolhouse floors without falling into the swimming pool if I buy it?
How do they work on non perfectly smooth surfaces? Like tile floors? Are the mops ok on these types of surfaces or skip it?
What is the approach if you have two floors? can you configure the device to have two different maps? Is moving the base to the other floor good enough?
hey mate , for the x 1 - what if it had already learnt the map .... but then i wanted to change the base station to another part of the house ? (where the map is also learnt). Do i have to do the entire set up again ? or would it just know the new base station's location automatically? thanks!
I'm trying to find out if WIFI can be disabled in any of these models ?
I turn on WIFI very infrequently and don't want to have it on all the time ( sensitive to radiation )
The omni way take more time to saturate the pads. Thar’s why it may be bad. Settings are also important as the omni can change the water consumption.
It washed the pads before starting, but it may be a factor too. It was set on high water flow.
The last comment by the camera guy convinced me 🎉
I feel the ultra station just needs a flip up lid to cover the multiple containers..
Totally agreed 👍
The mops of the deebot omni can't be lifted and have no suspension which is a big disadvantage because if the volume/thickness of the mops reduces with age, they loose floor-contact
So you better take the Dreame l10s ultra which can lift it's suspended mops on carpets and can dry the mops and is much cheaper then the roborock.
Really good point, thanks Otto!
Love the mopping effect of S7 MaxV Ultra!! Sonic mopping wins😄
Interesting eh! Thanks for watching!
I actually really like the look of the roborock! It seems really user friendly too!
I definitely want one or both!
Deebot has pressure and damping issue which makes it ineffective when it comes to mopping
Very curious how it seems to vary in degree from batch to batch...
You said the X1 is a little quieter. We currently have the r**mba i7+, and on our hardwoods, it is very loud. Could you say in general, if one of these is quieter than that one?
I need this in my life!
Need this! So over vacuuming 1000x a day
can I take the vacuum upstairs without the station to clean upstairs by adding an extra map for the 1st floor? My huge concern is that it is expensive, buying two, one for the ground floor and one for the 1st floor is a significant investment.
Yes, definitely can. :)
Samsung powerbot i have one they are amazing
Thanks :)
For S7 max, yes.
You can programme to mop only on select days and full cleaning (vacuum, mop) on select days
@@lamminhthu88 Thanks, but can I program to vacuum and only mop once a week without removing the pads?
@@susancorbin43 yes, you can!
I have a house with 3 different levels. If I'm prepared to physically move it between levels, will the robot and app manage on the different levels?
Thanks
Is it possible to increase the number of times you clean the mop every time you come home to clean yourself?
Show the Robo rock doing the heavy cleanup test and also have white or whitish carpet as part of your cleaning. Does the wet mop pad drag across and potentially stain or leave residue (grape juice or red wine etc) on the white carpet? It would be great if you can create a cleaning path for the hardwood then have it dock and self clean its pad before immediately going to the carpet. I have lighter(almost white) large area rugs in the bedrooms with hardwood etc.
if you have low tile carpet, it wouldn’t be a problem - the robot would lift the mop.
Both of them do :)
Why are the brushes spinning when they are mopping?
The guest's comments confused me. I have the wood floor with a small carpet in the living room. Does Omni know not to mop that carpet?
Satisfying Demos!
Can you review the wyze robot vac next? It's a great vacuum for the price
It’s not available in our market sadly
@@deborahthompson7996 You may want to consider the Dreame L10S Ultra too
and no way to upload photos to youtube unfortunately!
You can deactivate the mopping through the app without having to remove the mops by the way!
@@RobomateTV will definitely look at it. Amazon has it for $999 right now..about $500 less than the Roborock! Looks like mostly all the same features too! Thank you!
