Hellblade 2 is ass. It's pretty much generic at this point. One on one fights is lame. Especially has easy dodge and parry mechanics. Easy 6 to 7 hr game.

Man, smoove is pathetic af when it comes to Stellar Blade. It's a game, unlike Hellblade 2, the movie game.
X can easily run S's version of Hellblade 2 at 60fps - but MS is embarrassed to put that version on the X. Because if X version drops resolution down to 960p, then S version drops down to 360p. And that's embarrassing.
Glad Blandrew was here to push back on that Souls-like discussion with BG this week. Idk why BG continues to rewrite how the general community defines what a souls-like is. Atleast i can agree on him with the sales talk of Dead Space. I wish we would've gotten a DS2 remake.

Also, Mary Jane face changed from the prior spider man game to a square chin self insert of one of the writers for the second game

stellar blade isn't like dmc/bayonetta though. it plays more like sekiro/bloodborne. so its understandable why souls-heads love stellar blade but didn't like dmc. i'm a dmc guy & based on the demo, i don't really like the slower souls-like gameplay.

BG literally doesn't know what makes a souls game a souls game, even though he DOES play games like Sekiro. he talks like he has no idea what differentiates those 2 very distict genres between DMC & Sekiro.
thats why he had that whole section in the podcast about what makes a souls game what it is. its obviously the slower, more deliberate combat, the "zelda like" Z-targeting with the white dot on the enemies, the RPG elements & the rogue-like elements & the bonfires where all the enemies respawn if you rest.
any game that has those, I consider a souls like. Lies of P, Ni-Oh, The Surge, Lords of the Fallen, Code Vein, Mortal Shell & even games like Jedi Survivor & Sekiro that don't really have the RPG elements as much, I would consider those games as souls-likes.
Nier has the RPG elements, but afaik doesn't have the rogue-like elements, which makes it more of an action-RPG version of like a Bayonetta or something like that. the combat & movement is a lot faster & is about taking on multiple enemies at once instead of souls-likes where you're more deliberate & pick & choose one at a time to fight, which is why I prefer Nier Automata.
