Tonya, thanks for sharing how you make soft journal covers. There are so many ways! I like the batting for a squishy feel. Dear, you apologize too often. Lose that habit pronto! Then when you are a wise old woman, you’ll be very used to saying “sorry” only when people die. 💕
That is so neat! I love the rounded off edge! I am the same way you are when it comes to buying more papers and fabric, especially if it is on sale. Those covers are beautiful! I love the stitching! Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely adore this method for making a journal cover. I was going nuts because I have a finished journal that needs a cover. I don't have any strong tape so I was holding off making a hard cover. It was driving me crazy having it just sit around. Now I can make a cover for it and not worry about having tape. This is so pretty too!
I have a new sewing machine, so I’ll definitely be trialing it with this tutorial. Absolutely adore the design of this fabric journal cover. Many thanks 😊
I had the same issue recently with my needle getting covered in adhesive when I was sewing around my cover. I soon realized it was the book tape I used to strengthen the spine. Failure is a great way to learn. :) Love your technique! Thanks
Wonderful! Thanks ever so much for showing this process! I want to do a fabric cover on my journal, so your video is perfect timing for me. Love the design too, and paper folded up, going to try.
You make it look so easy. I'd love to give it a try, I have all the supplies. I think I'll schedule this in my New Years projects. I do want a pair of those pinking shears. Thanks for sharing!❤️🦋❤️

I wanted to thank you for sharing this with us. I needed something to do this week to bring a calm to my hectic schedule. This was it!! I just made my first one for ME 😀 and shared it on Facebook and requests started popping up in my messenger. What a blessing. Thanks for your time and creativity ❤️
That was a great tutorial! I am definitely going to try this. I haven't made a soft cover journal yet. This looks absolutely doable! Your fabrics are beautiful! It's not a problem if you create beautiful pieces!
I don't have a lot of gadgets so I use things around the house. I used a dinner plate when I quilted and it came back to me when I saw you using the unused gadget.@@tonyasamuels3411

Love these-- so pretty. I have been looking for soft cover tutorials and yours is one of the easiest (and prettiest) I have seen. Thank you! Oh and by the way….you probably suspect that you have lots of company when it comes to buying paper and fabric. I am guilty as charged! I told myself recently that my new challenge will be to use my entire stash before any new purchases. Ha ha that won’t last long. Pretty paper and pretty fabric are my kryptonite apparently. Not sorry though!
Thank you so much! It is up to you 😉 the travelers notebook method where you use elastics to hold the journal inside, but the journal itself is a five whole pamphlet stitch. Hope that helps😘
I’m so glad you like it. Honestly I just put the paper on the score board and just made my scoremark wherever as long as I could score a 1 1/2 spine and have paper on either side. Hope this helps
