Good job. Very informative. Is there a web browser in the infotainment system?

Can you turn on AC or Heat from app and let it run? Can you also keep it cool in the summer for like an hour while parked at a mall?

Have you had to take it to the dealership for any software updates I’ve heard some require it to stay at the dealer possibly for a week or longer.
Is there a way of ditching the key fob and using the phone as a digital key?

Hey there, I don't know of a way to operate the car without the fob. The car is setup to sense the proximity of the fob so it knows when you're there and unlocks the doors etc..
Also you can't lock it using the handle sensors unless you have the fob.
I'm going to do a video about the software update - just got the car back as a matter of fact. I had both recalls and the update done.

Thanks for the info I’m really curious to hear your experience with software updates any glitches I’ve heard some have to reboot it.
I had a Porsche service advisor tell me about some software updates requiring an extended stay at the dealership. Looking forward to future content.

If this car is "connected all the time", this is a source of revenue for Porsche, it knows who the owner is, where it is parked, knows where you drive, when you drive, knows how fast you drive, your driving habits, it knows how many people are in the car, likely knows & can infer who is sitting in which seat....all this information you are giving away, & information, (Big Data) is worth as much as gold...keep you face staring at the phone, & your head in the sand.

      And you know this because...??

@@WestCoastSupercarsandClassics You do know seat sensors gauge the weight of people in the car don't you? They ostensibly use this data to regulate the air-bags.
Have you bothered to read the statements by Tesla about their "right" to monitor you vehicles parameters? California law has declared such statements about data collection by Tesla to be "clear and understandable"...it is not, it is "lawyer-speak", thus requiring a lawyer to decipher its actually meaning. As myself, not a lawyer, I had to pick apart sentences word by word, following grammar as I understand it...the upshot?, they can collect any and all data as they see fit, often within the guise of "safety"
This new source of data collection, "Big Data" now has a source that was once untapped...The automobile was once a haven of solace, away from all the peering eyes, the Googles, Facebook, Tinder, UA-cam, Apple, Twitter...all the sources of artificial intelligent algorithms. Can you actually say you haven't noticed the "connections" , why you are inundated with ads that are steered your way?...the topics of conversations that enhance your seemingly increasing "hard line" of opinions?
Since Tesla has not yet been challenged on this, other makes are jumping on this bandwagon, to the detriment of us all. Go right ahead & ignore me if you wish, but when your prized Porsche stops driving "for you"...listen for that little screen saying "You've missed three loan payments as of today, car is now rendered non-functional".

@@WestCoastSupercarsandClassics If you own it outright, you will be the one to absorb the bulk of the depreciation, assuming of course you don't keep it for fifty years...& I see you trading it off in seven years....absorbing a loss of 66% of your purchase price.

@@AndieBlack13 LOL, such an optimist! I'm treating it like a computer, that is, to have the 'cutting edge' you pay a price. If you feel it's worth the price, then you're happy with the decision.
But fundamentally, I also want to support the EV industry, and Porsche in particular. To succeed they need to sell cars, and so I'm part of their continued success, and as an example to other enthusiasts that these are viable and fine cars.
Making these videos, showing the car in town, all contribute to a better understanding and acceptance of them in society. That's part of my aim here. My aim is not to make money from it, I have other means to do that. :)
