Leaving the prawns in lemon juice for 20 minutes is going to start cooking them which will change the texture quite a lot. It might be a good idea for a curry but not something we do in restaurants.
Tried this recipe today. Before adding the prawns I added potato cubes cut from 1 whole potato. Cooked potatoes until semi-cooked before adding prawns. Thank you for this yummylicious recipe! Whole family loves it to serve on Basmati rice and naan!
Picked up some shrimp from the store randomly, browsed through couple of videos, this one looked very simple and yummy looking, tried shrimp for first time following this recipe…. And result was awesome! Was craving for some spicy shrimp curry and this was better than the restaurant!! Great recipe and excellent presentation!
Thank you so much for the great step-by-step presentation. I love many ethnic kinds of curries but the rest of the house doesn't like coconut as you know has been quite a trend of late. Being high in saturated fat I shy away from coconut oil and use coconut milk seldom. Garam Masala curries are then great for everyone here but have never tried with shrimp only chicken. It looks delicious and will try your recipe soon. Thank you again. Ciao 4 Now.
Oh my word. I have never made praw curry before and your recipe and teaching was brilliant. Easy to understand I felt no pressure, it was amazing my boys loved it. Thank you so ooo much.
Remember my late mum cooking a prawn curry with the red dal ( cant get the name at the moment) and cauliflower in addition useing the stock of the boiled and strained skin of the prawns..tasted outta this world. In fact gonna try that myself.🤘
I cooked down / fried the paste much longer, because after a few minutes it still had a very pungent and sharp smell. I've used a little more tomato by accident, they weren't really sweet so I adjusted by adding some palm sugar in the end. Also I've put in a little bit of fish sauce, hinge (part of the paste at the start) and a little bit of coconut milk at the end. It's no 1 to 1 of the recipe, but it turned out pretty good. I didn't measure anything, just followed the instructions on the paste frying, spice mix and order on how to cook the dish. Thanks for the recipe!
There is no 'should' involved. It is her recipe. Let her put hers. You can put your recipe in your own channel. FYI, not every recipe needs Coconut. There could be a lot of people not used to it or simply searching for a recipe without coconut. It's a good recipe.
Never use a surface which moves 4 cutting..its a safety hazzard Secondly one adds all dry ground masalas to the brown onion ginger paste and after oil leaves d sides weadd little water till its dark brown..then add tomatoes...when its boiling n oil leaves d side add prawns ... That's the correct way.
Hey Tarika the recipe turned out just yumm my husband loved it, was looking for a recipe without coconut 🥥 and this turned out really nice thanks. Cheers 🥂

She’s not in a restaurant you tool
This is obviously not for restaurants it's for home cooks a totally different process!!
Actually that's one of the reasons why I don't like restaurants foods

As someone from Maharashtra, it's my birthright to add cocunut milk at the water add stage. Did that and curry came out just as well.
Move over Maharasthra ...Kerala uses Coconut more than anyone else.
Was searching for a comment that was going to tell me how this recipe turns out if you swap out the water for coconut milk. Thanks for the heads up 👍
Lies you are not from Maharashtra

With the density of prawn meat does it absorb the marinade or it remains coated with it.
