Thank you so much for all the tips for this absolutely delish beyond prawn curry. My absolute favourites are prawns and curry, and this video is just beyond. Sadly, in Cape Town, prawns are so expensive. I wish I had a prawn farm, where I could just cultivate my own prawns. I literally eat curry for breakfast, lunch and supper. Love the split of the tomatoes, half with dhania. I am so going to try this in my curries from now on. I make a different kind of curry. My grandmother was Burmese, and she made the most delicious curry in the world. Like literally. I have never tasted a curry like hers ever again. I am a firm fan of Durban curry. Love it! Amazing flavours. I have very, very special memories of spending weekends with my Gamma, my Grandmother. Her and I would have curry for breakfast. She would read the Sunday Times, we'd snuggle up in bed, have our curry and rice for breakfast, just the two of us. Curry and rice for breakfast is so much better than pap or cornflakes 😂🤣I miss her so much. Thanks for your lovely video 🥰

I’ve made this recipe three times the past week, and it is just wonderful, so beautifully flavorful. One question regarding cooking the shrimp. When I make a simple shrimp stir fry, I cook the shrimp for only about a minute and twenty seconds on medium heat. This results in lightly cooked and very juicy and flavorful shrimp. Is there any way to replicate this in a curry? Or is there an inevitable trade off between the intense flavors of a curried dish and the best natural shrimp flavor that comes from as brief a cooking period as possible? No matter how low the temperature, cooking the shrimp for ten minutes in a curry base can never be optimal as regards the shrimp itself: it will always result in shrimp that is over cooked. With something like chicken, in contrast, the cooking time for the chicken perfectly matches the time needed for the chicken to absorb the curry flavor.

Hi Hussain, you can get them on mild or hot. I usually keep both at home & use according to what I’m cooking. The colour is also from the chilli powder, I use Kashmiri chilli powder. According to your preference, I usually prefer a mild only because I don’t want to over power the taste of the prawns but I’ve also used hot & even extra hot before .. still very tasty. You can also adjust the amount used. You can also use less if you have extra hot only available. Love Solina ❤️🌶

Hi Gary, thank you so much. You can add a tsp or so of all purpose flour to your butter to make a roux, that will give it a thicker consistency 💕

All the quantities are in the drop down description. But go with what you prefer, mild or hot. Not too much in Prawns 🍤 you can add green chillies too
