    This is surely gonna help me once I try out next year for my junior year. The two main things holding me back in my freshman and sophomore year were focus and fear. But now that I’m starting to solve these issues, I’m excited to see how high my true potential is!

    Hey coach I just started high school basketball and I think I have been feeling a lot of fear and last game when i was warming up I looked in the stands and saw all my friends and family and I felt so much fear because I was afraid to mess up and I ended up having a bad game and missed 2 layups and all the 3s I attempted and I usually am one of the better players on the team and I didn’t look like the player I usually am. This video helps a lot thanks coach

    I am a day trader and once again, your videos on emotional management apply insanely to the mental aspect of trading the markets.

    Haven’t watched the video yet but I was literally watching Batman begins yesterday because of the way they talk about fear in that movie and I thought I could study it. Cus d’amato always used to talk about fear but never really went into depth on how to use it and so I was kind of stuck. And now this video is out, weird how the universe works

    How do I deal with teammates who dislike me? They are jealous because I'm a 6'3 freshman and am in a position where people are scared ill take their spots in the future, i made the team barely and all they do is constantly talk smack and I just wanna play basketball and have fun.

      Just keep tryna be nice. U said it yourself, they r just jealous. Keep hooping

      just keep meeting them with compassion until the end. Like you said they are jealous and intimidated. Continue to do your best and be kind.. only good things will unfold.

      Team dynamics like this often work themselves out over time -- it's still quite early in the season, so I would just be patient and keep doing what you need to do. Don't shy away or back down, keep going at them on the court and being kind/relaxed with them off the court. Things will fall into place as the season progresses.

    Thanks a lot that's What i needed
    I have a question now, how to deal with the fear when you team up with guys stronger than you and you are afraid of being a drag and not performing at their level especially if you're shorter and afraid of get blocked on shots or layups
    Thanks you

      Thankfully the approach to fear is always the same -- simply use the techniques described in this talk :)

    so do we have to breath using the 4-7-8 method all the time everyday if we want to live this way?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Рік тому

      No, of course not. It's a technique you use in moments when you're feeling particularly fearful. It's meant to help you process fear when it arises, not as a constant breathing technique - Simon, Team DeepGame

    How do you feel about mind follows body's actio

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Рік тому

      It's a very solid principle and is true in significant ways.
      A good quote to put it by is by I believe Tim Ferris (and I will be paraphrasing to my memory): "It is easier to act your way into proper thinking than it is to think your way into proper acting."
      That is to say, thoughts certainly follow actions, but you could also get in a loop and have it be the other way around.
