One thing I've always used is the rubber port protectors you can get for super cheap. Can't get stuff in your port if your port is covered when not charging by a cable

May even be upfront at registers where they have excellent quality affordable 6’ charging cords & dual fast charging usb “bricks.” Don’t overthink it. They even said you could use a clean, new (soft) toothbrush.
David and David I have a good advice for all members and subscribers on here REMEMBER easily to wipe your iPhone and clean it with a brush every night that is what I do and it sure works every night! Hope this helps…

I wish iphone and Mac products still came with the microfiber cloth they gave several years ago (maybe more, can't remember). I still have the 6" x 8" one that came with my old macbook, and I'm telling you if something happened to it I would be more upset than if I lost almost any dead relative photo, LOL! I also have the smaller one that came with my first iphone. There are plenty of microfiber cloths out there that LOOK just like these, but as soon as you hold one the difference is obvious. I don't know what it is, but these ones have a 'rubbery'ness to them, and their weave is truly microscopic. The result is ultra grab (at dirt) but ultra gentleness. I use them to clean all kinds of tiny fragile things, they're like my secret weapon. OH! and they're totally washable, with the same properties after drying. I've washed mine countless times.

I used to as well. That will eventually ruin the oleophobic coating and the glass screen will become a finger print magnet. But u can buy some nice products that will replace the coating.

About once every three months. A quick wipe-down with a disposable denatured alcohol wipe. I brush out the port with a very soft brush, but there is _never_ anything in there, which is surprising. I think it's because, since Covid lockdown, the phone simply spends less time in lint-infested pockets.

My husband is a welder and he gets metal shavings in the ports and speakers. I use a strong magnet and run it in the outside of the ports. Amazing how much metal shavings come out of there.
Just remember to be properly fearful and scared about the horrible covid monster. Better check under your bed and in your closet before you go to bed. Covid could be anywhere ready to murder you!

I only clean my iPhone when I come home if I’ve left my house. I’ve always used alcohol wipes. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I can honestly say that has happened less than 10 times.

Here’s my routine. Daily clean with microfiber towel with 3-4 sprays of ( 10-15% ammonia free windex/ 85-90% distilled water). Every 60 days I remove the case and do the same cleaning in step 1 and throw the outer silicone part of the case in a load of laundry ( not the dryer). I never ever put my phone in my pocket the lint and pocket dirt destroys your phone. After 4-6 yrs of use my phones look like the day I bought them, inside and out.
I use them on my glasses and their wipes for tablets for both my iPad and phone, although the phone is in a “Lifeproof” case. ATB from deepest Dorset England 👍

Using the brush on the ports is great. I had that happen with my last iPhone. It wouldn’t charge took it to Apple store and they pulled all the lint and stuff out of the port. I couldn’t tell but when cleaning the screen or phone with the alcohol wipes does it matter if the phone is powered off or not?

i damaged my earphones speaker by cleaning the screen of my iphone with alcohol and teeth brush and it also alcohol went inside the sensor of face id and damaged the whole section of front camera sensors, gladly i removed the face id sensor which it damaged by the alcohol and my iphone started to work again after that, so i don't think so its that easy to do it in your home always go to repair store so experts to clean it for you , iphone is not water resistant 100% it has some holes can water go throw inside the phone and your phone get damaged hard with that.

So I have the new iPhone 13 Pro I have done my update 15.0.1 before the update and after the update my voice texting does not pick up the word it No matter how many times you say the word there’s other ones too but that one specifically stuck out to me because I use “it”a lot also when I am on Google everything is glitchy sometimes the keyboard does not come up, if it does it flashes white a lot of the times and Touching the screen Does nothing. What a crappy and wasteful recommendation, using impregnated wipes, these are expensive and add to landfill litter as they contain plastics. Just get a bottle of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) and use a lint free cloth! All reusable and will last a lifetime!

Last few years have been using Whoosh - they came out with a stronger version during the Pandemic so now I have both in a travel bottles and larger bottles for home use. Works great and ports are covered by case - speakers are not so that is the the area I gently brush with a dedicated toothbrush. Great tips!
What I find discussing is people use their phone while on the toilets' or in the bathroom it self, if someone calls you while your in the bathroom don't answer it or talk on to it while your in there so discussing. Do you eat in the bathroom? If you do you are the problem sick humans.

I put mine in mine toilet with toilet bowl cleaner attached to a string and flush a few times......For tough stains I use a copper choir boy.
