Over in the UK at the moment we are suffering from people ringing from an 0843 or sometimes 0845 number twice and then hanging up. It’s a nuisance more than anything. Also getting people ringing my secondary phone from all over the UK and also Ireland. I know it’s a scam because I haven’t given anybody the number. I have used the temporary solution at the moment of turning off my voicemail and silencing unknown numbers.
My phone used to do a good job keeping this sort of thing at bay, but lately I have been receiving several every day and some of them are very believable. The most recent was an appt reminder from a Doctor that I am going to on Monday. I received 2 reminders. One from a number out of state and one from a local number. I’m not sure if one is a scam or not, but I didn’t click on the links in either message just to be safe. It’s very frustrating because you never know if you’re ignoring a legitimate message. 🤬
Oh no. Recently I have had many Dr appointments and I also get Reminders. But the number is an 800 number. Because I can read the first few words before opening it, I opened it and it says to confirm the appointment, click a link given. The last reminder I received, I haven’t “confirmed” yet. Any advice??

I didn't believe it so told her my uncle worked in customs so let me know which office she was stuck in and I'd see if he could help out. Needless to say I never heard anything back
All the phone companies could stop 90% with the flip of a switch, literally. The reason they won’t is because some people still pay by the minute for cell phone usage and every time they say hello to a junk call “cha-ching” that company makes a few cents. And with a half a million junk calls a minute that adds up.
